Brother CJ was an inspiration to me that summer, as i worked to free myself from “lust” (it feels SO GOOD to be free from that spirit/habit friends; it influences us on many more levels than we realize!) Fasting became the key to unlocking that for me. Praise Jesus!
Sometimes we allow ourselves to be convinced that it’s ok to hold on to that one bc popular culture does- but no- it literally blocks us from Christ!!
So i thought; homosexuality seems like a much more ‘permanent,’ ‘inescapable’ version of lust… but if people can get free from that then of course i can get free too. Jesus deserves that from us.
Here is the broadcast where CJ gives his heartbreaking & inspiring testimony. You see, he was injured as a child. That’s where it set in :( :( But Jesus found him and showed him love, grace, and with effort- Freedom! The brothers prayed some mighty warfare prayers and he was able to return to the show in later weeks , freer than ever before. Praise God!

The Prayers of the Righteous show by Josh Coen & co from summer 2018 is a good resource for fellowship & prayer (as you know prayer is not bound by time). Among many other issues, they do combat lust several times. Here you will find men giving real-talk tips on what to do when lust urges come up. Like (pray).. Take a cold shower, imagine who’s child the person in the video is, and more.
