- The dogs fight over a gorgeous gal, who may or may not be a statue. Unfortunately for them, metal collection for the war effort is ongoing.

The dog looks like a Pluto knockoff, but it sounds like Goofy. 😂
The dog was voiced by the same guy who voiced Goofy, Pinto Colvig.
Heck, the dog even acts like Goofy as well 😁😁
The closest that Warner Brothers could get without being sued by Disney.
Around this time period Corvig did some voices for a few Warner shorts. So if you ever hear a voice similar to Goofy in one, chances are it’s him.
@@marvinmuonekejazzyep, around this period Colvig and Disney had a falling out. That's why the Goofy shorts of that era had very minimal dialogue and just recycled his laugh and other sound effects from prior shorts.
Good old days🙃
I haven't seen Saturday morning cartoons in 40 years.
❤
Then you haven't been living well. Buy, record or stream them for your own well-being.👍
i reccomend watching cartoons. it keeps your child-like wonder intact and theyre just fun
MeTV channel has a Saturday morning program that shows these old cartoons. 👍
These shorts always had the best music 😁
Yes, you've got to hand it to Carl W. Stalling! 🙂
Always loved how the bomb still said Daisy on it.🤣
That's because it's a daisy cutter
@@JamesKirk91 If that was intentionally what they had in mind, then it's brilliant.
Oh to be the kid watching this on Saturday mornings enjoying a bowl of cereal.
That was me yup 😃
He seems like a trial run of a character that never went any further.
Back when they had to recycle ♻️ all metal to use for WW2
Looney Tunes 90s Are Great
I Love Tiny Toons and Animaniacs and Of Course LOONEY TUNES
I once raced home from school then video taped all my favourites then few months later mum taped over it for my nephews took me months to 😂 do. Her face was 😳. lol it’s ok. Now I can watch this 💓🤩
Sure it's the unrestored version but at least the audio isn't screwed up far as the print goes. Unlike the majority of the AAP/Turner shorts the channel uploaded.
Or at least as bad compared to the other shorts with the issue.
There's something almost Ray Bradburyish about this, a dog falling in love with a bomb, which was once a statue, once modeled after a female dog which has probably long since ceased her time among the living...
I agree, and with the way the entitled dog rejected him for not instantly presenting as "Prince Charming", so he chooses the "doll" that doesn't hate him for not being rich, tall, and attractive, and it is enough to satisfy his desire to pair bond. Did they predict this situation way back then? Maybe, the guard dog was a representation of society's (justified) disgust at such ideas of replacing real relationships with robotic dolls/AI/cornography/etc. Even as an ugly explosive, the inanimate object was still better than a real intimate relationship over time with a real female. Probably not, but that's my modern opinion.
From the looks of that statue it was probably dedicated in the early thirties to that long gone dog.
@@JoshuaDemersProductions That's a very good and valid point.
Surprised that Warners uploaded another public domain cartoon.
Did you expect them to just upload copyrighted shorts only?
@@stephenholloway6893 Maybe?
Can you upload the hunting trilogy
No... no I don't think I'll make a 'bombshell' joke here.
My favorite cartoon favorite I grew up watching 70s
Good cartoons here
It's a short film, not a episode, this existed before TV was commonplace.
Isn't the completely restored version on one of the Looney Tunes Collector's Choice MOD Blu-Ray releases or is slated to be on Looney Tunes Collector's Choice-Volume 4, due out on November 26, 2024?
Very good job dudes and nicely well done!!! Congratulations 995.75% yo throughout the 1st sizzling patriotic hot week of said outstanding October y'all.
The dog looks like a Pluto knockoff, but it sounds like Goofy. 😂
Is cartoon a public domain?
This one is indeed a public domain short.
Yes the copyright wasn't renewed after 1971. Or rather that's when it entered the public domain.
This short is remastered too.
No, it is a "dubbed" version issued by Turner Entertainment with a 1995 copyright, as it had used a different ending title card from another but older cartoon. It is simply a slightly revised but still unrestored copy from a print, not directly from the master negative.
Turner Entertainment had the rights to those 337 pre-August 1, 1948 Warner Bros cartoons for a decade (1986-1996), which were originally purchased in the late 1950's by a long defunct TV syndication company, Associated Artists Productions ("a.a.p."), that all the films would change hands through mergers and acquisitions of various companies through the years.
It was until Time Warner (the then parent company of W-B) was able to get them back again, finally when it bought Turner Entertainment in 1996, and combined from all the film libraries into one.
I don't think he didn't realize when he got shocked or blown up. I think he was just masochistic. Shocking I know.
The explosion 7:50
Why would you upload the unrestored verison?
And it’s the Turner dubbed version too.
No, no - I don't like the Red Masking at the beginning of this wonder film !
Glad this guy never became a regular
the audio issue has returned (yeah)
