I bought an 55a8h. On initial set up I didn’t opt for the Google TV set-up. Now I would like to use that function, do I have to go back to factory re-set and start over? Also now when I turn on the tv the screen flickers until I hit the input button even when it on the right input. How do I fix that?
Hi, I bought Sony 55x75k a month ago. It is really awesome w.r.t picture quality and other features but I have a minor concern with the setup. Though I have done the complete setup of google tv multiple times, each day when the TV is turned on it is prompting for the setup again from the beginning. My situation with my newly purchased XR90k 75" is that at the beginning of having it, about three weeks ago, I was able to command the Google feature to change cable box channels via hey Google to the set itself or via the remote. That was great! But recently the set refuses to change cable box channels as it did when brand new. Same through the remote. No go. I'm wondering if the remote is not working as it should. I've tried everything outside of a complete factory reset, which I really don't want to do, to remedy the situation to no avail. Any suggestions? Please inform. I sure would appreciate it. Thanks! ♐

I've just had a Sony-Xr65x92j but i cannot connect it with my Samsung S20 through Samsung DeX. I can Mirror Screen it from Google Home but i prefer using Samsung DeX because i can use my phone for something else while it casts on the TV. I have read that i should turn on Sceen Mirroring first from "Sources" or "Input" button but there is just HDMI, AirPlay and not Screen Mirroring. Is it even possible to use Samsung DeX on this TV or should i buy another Philips which works just fine?

Having a problem with my brand new Sony tv. On initial setup I set it up as Basic Tv. Now when i try to set it up as a google TV I just see a spinning circle. Just bought a Sony KD32 W830k…thought it was a smart tv. Evidently Sony chose not to install some software that will control my AT&T Uverse box. The remote will control volume and mute. The Uverse remote does the rest. Spoke with two Sony TEC reps and they said sorry that Sony didn’t include the software that they have on their bigger smart TVs. Maybe in the future there will be a software update.

My TV was playing up and would not connect to Google Play or certain apps. I done a reset, and now it won't let me choose google TV as an option it only allows me to choose region and then skips to easy set up on phone. Hi, I've configured my 65x85j with the google TV setup. However i cannot seem to control it it from the the google Nest speaker. I have added it to the google Assistant app on my phone, but it does not work with any of the commands from the google Nest speaker. PS. my previous 55x800e worked perfectly with google Nest speaker. However this google TV doesn't work with the google speaker. It's annoying when google doesn't work with google!

What happens if when the new Sony TV is delivered the seller plugs the TV in the wall and powers it up to show there is no problems with the TV, will the initial Google setup mode not come back when I power it up later? Is there a way to bring back the initial Google SET UP?

Please allow us to adjust the picture settings for the home and app interface. I have the 75x95J and i think the app interface looks too dim like the Gama is too low or black levels is too high. It looks dim and washed out. When i try to adjust the picture setting, it only adjust the thumbnails but not the black menu or interface itself.
Hello. I just bought a new Sony A80K 65' (2022) and I have it connected to a Sonos Arc sound bar that supports Dolby Atmos. All of my setup is connected appropriately through eArc and with HDMI 2.1 cables. Also, I am using the built in Google Tv and apps (Netflix, Apple Tv, Disney+, HBO Max, etc.) that came with my Sony Google Tv. Therefore, the content is streamed directly through the Google Tv's apps. The problem is that when I try to watch content that supports Dolby Atmos in apps like Disney+, Prime Video and HBO Max there is no Dolby Atmos output. Let me say that when I stream Dolby Atmos content through Netflix and Apple Tv, I do receive full Atmos. Therefore, it is not a problem related with my setup, with the Sonos Arc Soundbar nor with content not available in Dolbly Atmos. Furthermore, I understand that not all content is available in Dolby Atmos, the thing here is there is no content at all with Dolby Atmos in Disney+, HBO Max and Prime playing through the built in apps of my Sony Google Tv. As a matter of fact, there are some movies in HBO Max app that state that can be watched in Dolby Atmos, however, when watching the content there is no Dolby Atmos output because the Sonos app states so. Again, this is not a problem of Sonos since everything works fine with Netflix and Apple Tv built in apps. In sum, it seems that there is no support for Dolby Atmos in some built in streaming apps in Sony's built in Google Tv. Honestly, this is unacceptable since my Sony Tv (A80K) is brand new and claims to be a premium Tv. Also, maybe this is a problem related to Google Tv updating the streaming apps to allow content with Dolby Atmos. In any case, Google Tv and Sony should fix this immediately! People buying a new Sony Tv with Google Tv should be aware of this situation and consider this problem when buying a new Tv. Maybe go with other combination of Tv brand (Sony) and built in platform (Google Tv), or just consider that built in Google Tv will no play Dolby Atmos at all in some streaming apps. Any comments and help will be appreciated.
Hi, I had the A90K for three days then returned it for an A90J. The newest TVs aren’t completely updated yet it seems. My A90K couldn’t use Airplay 2 (new update isn’t available yet) and I was upset they removed the a headphone jack in the newer models. I think if you’re patient, updated will arrive.

@@SonyConnect I've managed to get it to work after removing all saved networks, saved cache etc few reinstalls, strange thing is it worked on the ethernet then stopped now it's on the wifi so I'm not sure if it was my phone or TV in the end 😅 , also made a new home network with faster wifi to try to improve playback quality but that could be my phones resolution is on fhd

I still can't relink my Google home assistant to this TV! How in the world do you reconnect it?! I have an iPhone and this TV UI dosen't work well when you are trying to relink an account. I have spent all night trying to relink this TV to Google Home and Assistant and it still doesn't work! I hate this TV's UI. I even Reset my TV to factory settings and no dice. @@SonyConnect thanks for the comment but that didn’t help. What helped was the fact that you have to update the Google app itself. After resetting the TV and clearing the data the TV never updates the Google app that works with Google Home/Assistant. This took me two days to find as a fix. Now my Google Hub and Google home app works with my TV. Nothing in either Sony’s instructions or Googles forums explain how to do this or if it’s even an option.

I got an Sony Xperia 1mk2 running the latest software and a brand new Sony Bravia XR-48A90K and the whole process just stalls on 1:34 . The scanning of the QR code goes well, but next my phone keeps on connecting to Google TV device forever. I've waited for at least 30 minutes, but no joy. TV is connected via a functional working ethernet cable. After canceling the QR mode and entering the details manually, I am still not able to add nor operate my Bravia via Google Home App nor Google TV App on my phone. What switch to flip. With recent models I had no problems whatsoever. Dissapointed with this low end experience on high end Sony gear.... BTW Google Home App perfectly finds my 2015 Sony Android TV which is also still active in the house.

However my Google TV app (on Xperia) only scans my old 2015 Bravia to be remote controlled, but my 2022 Bravia just won't show up there. I erased cache and data from Google TV App as well to no avail. Any suggestions to fix this are welcome as well.

Bought x90j online, and unboxed it today, sadly remote control didn't function at all. Stuck in set up screen for 4 hours till i tried use universal remote and thankfully it works. Called Sony centre they said their warranty didn't include remote replacement even if the tv is brand new fresh 1 second out of the box. Wtf Sony! Is this gacha product?! I mean again wtf Sony 🤬 I'm in Indonesia. You suck Sony i spent $1000 for tv that came with broken remote and you guys won't bother to replace it for free. Tv fresh came out of the box! Disgusting

My situation with my newly purchased XR90k 75" is that at the beginning of having it, about three weeks ago, I was able to command the Google feature to change cable box channels via hey Google to the set itself or via the remote. That was great! But recently the set refuses to change cable box channels as it did when brand new. Same through the remote. No go. I'm wondering if the remote is not working as it should. Having a problem with my brand new Sony tv. On initial setup I set it up as Basic Tv. Now when i try to set it up as a google TV I just see a spinning circle. Press the HOME button on the remote control, then scroll down to the very bottom and select Manage services. Select your services such as Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix, etc. to include content from within For you (This may initially be placed higher on the Home Screen for easier access).

Just bought a Sony KD32 W830k…thought it was a smart tv. Evidently Sony chose not to install some software that will control my AT&T Uverse box. The remote will control volume and mute. The Uverse remote does the rest. Spoke with two Sony TEC reps and they said sorry that Sony didn’t include the software that they have on their bigger smart TVs. Maybe in the future there will be a software update.

Hi, I've configured my 65x85j with the google TV setup. However i cannot seem to control it it from the the google Nest speaker. I have added it to the google Assistant app on my phone, but it does not work with any of the commands from the google Nest speaker. PS. my previous 55x800e worked perfectly with google Nest speaker. However this google TV doesn't work with the google speaker. It's annoying when google doesn't work with google!
Hi Sony TV DP, We're sorry to hear you're having an issue in setting up this TV to your Google speaker. Upon checking, there are no known issues with controlling Sony Android TVs including your 65X85J from either Google Home or Google Nest Mini devices.
All devices are required to be connected to the same home network for this to work.
This functionality was tested as of this writing using devices: Google Home, Google Nest Mini, XR65X90J, XR43X800H, Xperia phone and Google Home app installed on the cellphone using basis commands including:
“Hey Google turn on/off ”
“Hey Google play music on ”
“Hey Google play YT music on ”
“Hey Google volume up on ”
“Hey Google pause music on ”

Please allow us to adjust the picture settings for the home and app interface. I have the 75x95J and i think the app interface looks too dim like the Gama is too low or black levels is too high. It looks dim and washed out. When i try to adjust the picture setting, it only adjust the thumbnails but not the black menu or interface itself.

Hello. I just bought a new Sony A80K 65' (2022) and I have it connected to a Sonos Arc sound bar that supports Dolby Atmos. All of my setup is connected appropriately through eArc and with HDMI 2.1 cables. Also, I am using the built in Google Tv and apps (Netflix, Apple Tv, Disney+, HBO Max, etc.) that came with my Sony Google Tv. Therefore, the content is streamed directly through the Google Tv's apps.
The problem is that when I try to watch content that supports Dolby Atmos in apps like Disney+, Prime Video and HBO Max there is no Dolby Atmos output. Let me say that when I stream Dolby Atmos content through Netflix and Apple Tv, I do receive full Atmos. Therefore, it is not a problem related with my setup, with the Sonos Arc Soundbar nor with content not available in Dolbly Atmos.
Furthermore, I understand that not all content is available in Dolby Atmos, the thing here is there is no content at all with Dolby Atmos in Disney+, HBO Max and Prime playing through the built in apps of my Sony Google Tv. As a matter of fact, there are some movies in HBO Max app that state that can be watched in Dolby Atmos, however, when watching the content there is no Dolby Atmos output because the Sonos app states so. Again, this is not a problem of Sonos since everything works fine with Netflix and Apple Tv built in apps.
In sum, it seems that there is no support for Dolby Atmos in some built in streaming apps in Sony's built in Google Tv. Honestly, this is unacceptable since my Sony Tv (A80K) is brand new and claims to be a premium Tv. Also, maybe this is a problem related to Google Tv updating the streaming apps to allow content with Dolby Atmos. In any case, Google Tv and Sony should fix this immediately!
People buying a new Sony Tv with Google Tv should be aware of this situation and consider this problem when buying a new Tv. Maybe go with other combination of Tv brand (Sony) and built in platform (Google Tv), or just consider that built in Google Tv will no play Dolby Atmos at all in some streaming apps.
Any comments and help will be appreciated.
Hi, I had the A90K for three days then returned it for an A90J. The newest TVs aren’t completely updated yet it seems. My A90K couldn’t use Airplay 2 (new update isn’t available yet) and I was upset they removed the a headphone jack in the newer models. I think if you’re patient, updated will arrive.

Thank you for the comment. That is not a malfunction of the OLED TV. The panel is bonded to the structure which causes a slight distortion when the TV is turned off. However, this will not affect the picture quality of the TV.

What are the devices connected? What is the current source? Please verify which HDMI® input on the TV that the source device is connected.

@@SonyConnect I've managed to get it to work after removing all saved networks, saved cache etc few reinstalls, strange thing is it worked on the ethernet then stopped now it's on the wifi so I'm not sure if it was my phone or TV in the end 😅 , also made a new home network with faster wifi to try to improve playback quality but that could be my phones resolution is on fhd

I still can't relink my Google home assistant to this TV! How in the world do you reconnect it?! I have an iPhone and this TV UI dosen't work well when you are trying to relink an account. I have spent all night trying to relink this TV to Google Home and Assistant and it still doesn't work! I hate this TV's UI. I even Reset my TV to factory settings and no dice. I really hate this feature of the TV.

@@SonyConnect thanks for the comment but that didn’t help. What helped was the fact that you have to update the Google app itself. After resetting the TV and clearing the data the TV never updates the Google app that works with Google Home/Assistant. This took me two days to find as a fix. Now my Google Hub and Google home app works with my TV. Nothing in either Sony’s instructions or Googles forums explain how to do this or if it’s even an option.

I got an Sony Xperia 1mk2 running the latest software and a brand new Sony Bravia XR-48A90K and the whole process just stalls on 1:34 . The scanning of the QR code goes well, but next my phone keeps on connecting to Google TV device forever. I've waited for at least 30 minutes, but no joy. TV is connected via a functional working ethernet cable. After canceling the QR mode and entering the details manually, I am still not able to add nor operate my Bravia via Google Home App nor Google TV App on my phone. What switch to flip. With recent models I had no problems whatsoever. Dissapointed with this low end experience on high end Sony gear.... BTW Google Home App perfectly finds my 2015 Sony Android TV which is also still active in the house.

Please perform a power reset to your Sony TV by following these steps: Unplug the TV power cord from the wall outlet, wait two minutes, then plug the power cord back in. Once the TV is powered on, connect it to the internet via Wi-Fi for this time. We also recommend clearing cache and data for the Google Home App on your Sony Xperia phone, and then try the steps provided on the video again to Set Up Your Sony TV With Google TV.

@@SonyConnect Hey Gerson, thanks for the support; it partially solved my problems. At least now the new Bravia shows up in and can be operated from the Google Home App on my Xperia. However my Google TV app (on Xperia) only scans my old 2015 Bravia to be remote controlled, but my 2022 Bravia just won't show up there. I erased cache and data from Google TV App as well to no avail. Any suggestions to fix this are welcome as well.

Bought x90j online, and unboxed it today, sadly remote control didn't function at all. Stuck in set up screen for 4 hours till i tried use universal remote and thankfully it works.
Called Sony centre they said their warranty didn't include remote replacement even if the tv is brand new fresh 1 second out of the box.
