very tempted by the versatility and ruggedness of the Ridgeway Mesh Low. would these be suitable for multi-day hikes with heavy-ish loads/backpacks?
The Ridgeway is a very sturdy shoe. I am happy to use Mesa Trails, Scrambler Lows, or the Ridgeways for backpacking. The Ridgeways offer a little more support and protection and, conversely, a little less proprioception. Watch this space; when I get my act together, I will compare these three shoes and their use video in the backcountry.
