You should consider reacting to Lovebites, all female J-metal band who sing in English. They do metal as good as anyone, and many times better. Their guitar duo of Midori and Miyako are the best in the business, their new bassist, 20yr old Fami is a phenom, 4' 9" drummer Haruna is a human metronome, and then you have the one and only voice Asami, with her booming voice, with that R&B background which is a perfect fit for this ELITE band. These women take the term 'musicianship' to a whole new level...see for yourself! 🤘
I'd say wouldn't you want to be there right in the crowd? so much energy... I've seen them 3 times now, twice with tarja, once with floor, and if I get the chance again, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy tickets. I was wondering, have you planned goingto one of there concerts already?

Even though in my opinion Wacken 2013 was THE legendary concert of Nightwish, I have to admit without envy that our Argentinian friends really rocked this concert.I would have loved to have been there.
Oh no. Wacken was the first great Show with Floor. But she only sings Tarja and Anette Songs. Wembley, BA or last year Hellfest or Deichbrand, is much more Floor and her Brothers in Nightwish.

The band is having a blast with this one. I've seen lots of videos of different performances of this song and Floor is usually trying to get Emppu to dance with her but he runs away with a big grin. There is one video where he does commit to a few seconds of "The Swim" dance move with her - hilarious!
I heard the grins were about him stealing her wireless set.

The song is a longing to feel emotions as one did when they were young. As we get older, the intensity of those emotions can wane or disappear altogether.
Troy is playing the Uilleann (ill-en or ill-yen) pipes. The Irish version of the bagpipes which uses a bellows squeezed by the elbow to inflate the bag. Uilleann is the Gaelic word for elbow.
Troy has taken over Marko's vocal parts on the current tour for this song.

The whole Decades Tour Buenos Aires 2018 show is phenomenal with Floor breathing new life in to a number of Nightwish classics that pre-date her time with the band. "Deep Silent Complete"... Floors voice on that is just...... 🙏😊👍❤️
Yes, Floor's energy is amazing, and she wasn't 100% here. She had been sick with the flu a show or 2 before this. Love Emppu laughing at her, and trying to stay out of her way.
The show was Sep 30, 2018, the DVD was released 2019.
The crowd spontaneously breaking into song at the start is visceral. As a British person I don't think you can beat South American crowds.... especially Argentina... they're just awesome! I believe they're singing a football song but changing the name of the team to "Nightwish". I know someone in the comments will elaborate further.
The juxtaposition of the Irish pipes with the heavy rock feel just works so damn well. Violin also works nice alongside distorted electric guitars (ever heard that?..... ooooh nice!!).

Please Nina, consider reacting to TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN - A LIFETIME OF ADVENTURE from his 2014 solo project Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge, a graphic novel by Don Rosa, the illustrator/storyteller. He appears in the video, drawing. The album was recorded in London with an orchestra. Beautiful song, beautiful vocals by Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas' wife.

Just wanna say I've been really loving your Nightwish reviews. Been watching a few of them over the last couple of days and I really enjoy your energy and the obvious joy you take in working out what's going on with the melodies and time signatures and vocal techniques, as well as your clear enjoyment of each song as a piece of entertainment as well as a piece of music. Hair always looks great BTW, even when it's wind blown, hat headed, or wet because of crippling heat wave :)
Actually this wonderful concert took place in 30.9.2018. The "Decades" album/dvd/bluray, where this is from, released 6.12.2019 (Finland's Independence Day). It was the first live album, which topped our charts. Excellent stuff all'n'all. ⛄❄👍

While the 2013 Wacken show is immensely powerful with that massive crowd and huge show, this Argentina show is unmatched for its utterly joyous enthusiasm from both the audience and the band. I absolutely love it!
Nina, what I really enjoy is knowing I'll get to look forward to more of your Nightwish and hopefully Floor's solo stuff reactions. Imagine that as much as you've seen and enjoyed already, you've barely scratched the surface! I'm 58 years old and have been surrounded by music & musicians my whole life and have only in the last 3 years found the best band and best singer I've ever heard in my life.

I have to say that from all of the performances of this song, this one is THE BEST! I mean; the crowd feeds the band, and the other way around. I've never seen Floor having so much fun during a performance. And it seems the other bandmembers were feeling the same, except from Emppu, the guitar player,....he was mainly busy with "How do I get away from this mad woman", as Floor was on the prowl to get a dance with him. I just love it❤
This performance is not one of the most technical vocally for Floor, but it is superb for stage presence and crowd interaction. 😀

Great reaction! Always enjoy your insights and how you are able to pick out the melody so quickly. Song is from the Imaginaerum album, whose songs are written from the perspective and aging composer approaching the end of his life and reminiscing about his life. In this song is wishing to return to his youth where he felt his emotions more strongly and passionately. Thus he wants his tears back.

a perfect live track to get the crowd going crazy. Nina you are very good at working out notes on your keyboard. If you went to a Nightwish concert, your hair will be in a mess afterwards. Just to let you know, Floor Jansen is releasing her solo album called Paragon in March.

Tho it's funny when she performed that same song in her Live in Amsterdam concert, she asked if there was a spanish in the crowd because she is not comfortable with the language. After all she almost never uses it and she deserve massive props for doing it like she does. She's probably better in spanish than me in english lol.

This song is half Celtic party half workout for miss Jansen jumping around so much around the stage, and on some of their latest concerts, she chased Emppu and Jukka (new bassist) so they now go up with Tuomas and Troy, and leave the entire stage for her to do whatever she wants
I noticed them looking around, making way for Floor as she jumped across the stage!

If you want to hear more Nightwish I would suggest "Ghost River" live from Wacken 2013. It's a gem. Also, their latest "Human. :II: Nature" is just amazing and somewhat different from the rest of their music. Shoemaker, Pan, Endlessness, Music, Noise, Tribal... All great songs!

I've loved your Nightwish journey Nina. I really appreciate a musician adding value to the reaction and recognizing things like time signature changes and chord changes that non-musician reactors tend to miss. If I may, have you considered branching out into other Symphonic bands? Epica's "Sancta Terra" (live) or Delain's "The Gathering" (live) would probably be excellent entry points.
By the by, you'd probably also have a ball with Battle Beast and Beast in Black. They're much more straight metal bands (Power Metal, to be precise), but the singers are fantastic and so are the instrumentalists.

I enjoy your analysis of this song and many others. It might be time to take leap into another symphonic metal band. Might I suggest Epica - Sancta Terra ( with a guest named Floor Jansen). The lead singer of Epica, Simone Simons, is best friends with Floor.

Not that the hair needed sorting, but a quick Floor windmill should do the trick 😂 Enjoyed the reaction as always. I get the impression Floor loves doing this song as she always seems to dance around to it. If you wanted to do a Nightwish song from the Annette days then I'd recommend the studio version of Scaretale which I think you'd love and she does a great job of adding to the song with the way she does her vocals on it as indeed does Marco as usual.

The band is VERY familiar with this song - they played it over 150 times to check the sound at every gig in North America.
The things being passed around is bottled water - the temperature was 38C or more.
I liked all three harmonizing Having Troy the British member of the band joining in so wonderful. By the way your hair looks amazing don't fret it's all good real hat hair at it's worst looks like a birds nest on top you barely had a couple of strands out of place lol. Thank you.

That "Frantic" moment you mentioned : to me, the drum pattern Kai is playing sounds like it was taken from a celtic Bodhan ( hand-held drum, played with a dual-ended 'beater'). He stripped out all the cymbals and played it primarily on the dual-kicks, from what I could see, tho there was a bit of snare in there for emphasis. Such a fun addition to the song, at just the right moment.

Dear Nina, If you like Floor and you like story telling music you have to dive in to AYREON ! This will be a new rabbit hole for you ! (Floor is one of the artist acting within Ayreon) a nice beginning is "The Day that the world breaks down" it's only 13 min long or sort.......because you will love it ! And there is a lot more from Ayreon ! and a lot LIVE ! See: Everybody Dies ! Fantastic ! No more than fantastic..........Creator: Arjen lucassen, Dutch same as Floor.. It's a must do ! My favourite Nightwish concert and there are many more great songs.
This one is a demonstration that those who say Marco is not one of the lead singers are plain wrong.
As with so many songs, he takes the lead for quite a large part of this, with Floor singing harmony. Not unusual.
This is one of the most popular of their songs in terms of performance - it's the 6th most frequently played at shows (ahead of, for example, Ever Dream, Amaranth, Storytime, Last Ride of the Day).
Tuomas reckons the South Americans are the most enthusiastic fans in the world and this shows why.
There are many great songs in this concert, but if you haven't seen them, do yourself a good turn and watch Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, Slaying the Dreamer and for an emotional blast, Dead Boy's Poem.
while Floor is bouncing and dancing all over the stage, remember that she's 6-5 of so in those bootheels.....for more three part harmonies, check out the song "Harvest" from the Human/Nature album......I don't think there are any live performances, but there is a lyric video on RUclips.....
You should be able to find some live performances of Harvest on YT, but obviously without the three part harmony

About loving concerts like Wacken, a must see great interaction with the crowd and a huge singalong, then watch a German band called *_”BLIND GUARDIAN”_* (live at Wacken 2016) with ”The Bard’s Song & Valhalla” : ruclips.net/video/i-IcX_bccFc/видео.html (a delight to see for every band and can only dream about)
