If you can use copper for catalytic decomposition of N2O (Nitrous Oxide), breaking apart the molecules should produce heat and you would have effective rocket engine igniter for Hybrid Rocket Engines.

    Very interesting video.
You are a genius. Gas detectors (to test for explosive atmospheric environments) use a similar principle. They use an electrically heated copper coil which will burn hotter when in the presence of a volatile atmosphere.
You took it to the next level. Is there a way you could increase the airflow over the coil to turbo change it?
    Cheers

Iron also works, you get acetaldeyde and ketene.

How long does this reaction last and can it heat a cylinder

Why can't you hook up a battery to the copper wire and let resistance heat it up?

@@blacknoir2404 using the heating from resistance to start up the reaction, then cutting the power. like an electric pilot light

    what are the byproducts?
    with methanol it's extremely toxic.

They make Keten when no air is around this way and keten is 10 times as toxic than Phosgen gas. I wounder if there are traces of keten

Oh there is nothing worse then have your muso mates convince you that you should use their music for your videos.
Perhaps the guitarist could have learnt some modes or scales prior to attempting a lead/solo break 🤮
