Yeah, that’s why I switched to Pocketbook. Finaly homescreen is about my book collection and not about what Amazon wants to sell me.
I can't get my standard toolbar to show on my Kindle Oasis, that shows home and can't find my library of books on the Oasis.

I find the oasis really sensitive. Is there a way to lock screen and just use the side button to turn the pages?
yes there is when you are reading a book, press on the 3 dots on the side and an option comes up to 'Lock Screen', this means you can only use the buttons
@@aryans4859 Sometimes I'd like to disable the buttons and just swipe. Do you know if this is possible?
@@Yowzoe im not sure on that part mate, but you could just not use the buttons. (it could be an option just dig around in book settings not the normal settings?

I bought your book. I would also like info on tips on when to charge my Oasis. The case drains before the Oasis, yet I have to charge both at the same time. Do I ignore the warning by removing the case until the Oasis is low?
I got a history with too many powered devices getting a memory in the battery, and having to charge it more often.
I've looked online, but really haven't found any answers..
3 years later and I still can't delete the old issue of Popular Mechanics.
Yeah, I also have problems deleting old newspapers/blogs. It's very annoying. I asked the question in a Kindle forum and some guy replied to say that they cannot be removed.

Do you have any idea if the notes you make on a book you didn't purchase from amazon are still accessible from a pc? I mean, do the notes go with the book when you open it in a pc? Or in the cloud reader? (amazon does have a cloud reader)

It doesn't have Bluetooth.
Oasis has Bluetooth, that is a whole nother story. Had to buy a bluetooth speaker (not costly), but does not explain alot about that, after you buy it then a huge learning experience. But I have it now, so testing it after I listen to this a bit more.

Yeah, if you remove the DRM. Search for Calibre and Apprentice Alf.
The eBook Reader does the oasis 2 have a micro sd card slot and can you store the converted books on a sd card and if i delete a book from the oasis will it still be on the sd card?

The speaker spoke much too fast and often covered the screen with his fingers, making it very difficult to follow him. Although he seemed quite knowledgeable, he was not very good at conveying his knowledge. Finally, he seemed to ramble and jump from one unconnected topic to another. A lesson plan would have been a great help.
Perhaps you can make your own incorporating your improvements?
I found the pace and method very good, so it's an individual thing, really.
You can use the space bar on your computer to pause, and the L/R arrows to skip back and ahead, as well.
You can also slow down the playback -- click the gear wheel on the bottom right of the video.

Hello Nathan. I have bought Kindle Oasis and I found out this annoying problem. I tend to use the oasis without its cover as it feels much lighter in the hand and only attach it when the power in the kindle is around %5 so that it can start using the extra power in the cover. the funny thing is kindle has shut itself in spite of the full battery in the cover and I had to recharge it to be able to read again. I really wonder what good the cover is then when you can't use it like a powerbank. and I wonder if there is a trick or anything to be able to use the cover in that way, when needed indeed. right now the cover is attached to the kindle as I wanna see if the kindle will run out of its power before the cover does and force me to recharge despite the cover power available. if that is case, amazon could sell the oasis at a very cheap price without the cover as it does not come handy. I kinda regret not buying the voyage.
nope, that's not the problem. cos after charging the kindle, I attached the cover and used it like that and it took 18 days to use up all the power both in the cover and the kindle.
I ordered my Oasis without the cover, it cost extra.. not worth $$. Don't need it.

Hi Nathan, can you please tell me how to show the page number instead of location on the Kindle? I have the paperwhite 2nd gen running 5.7.4. :-)
Tap the lower left corner to cycle through the options or you can change it from the font menu. Note that not all ebooks have page numbers.
The eBook Reader Ah! That explains why the 'page in book' is greyed out in the font menu. Been pulling my hair over this for a while as location isnt a very intuitive way to gauge progress and I cannot set reading goals with it the way I can with a certain number of pages to read every day.
