On the topic of sidearms, I would love to see Bungie bring back Vestian Dynasty as a nightfall weapon. I was the og sidearm and I think it would be fitting to bring it back with an adept variant.
Well, that settles it. I’ve always like perpetual motion and adagio on my empirical evidence, and now even the sidearm guy says it’s great too. Feels good. Personally though, I’d also have punching out in my top five. I got a killing wind and frenzy roll awhile ago and it just clicked. Fell in love, and it’s my favorite primary now
Lonesome was so underrated. It was a great close-mid option if you pushed out the range stat. The 260's are great for dueling hand cannons when within that 15-25 meter band.
Empirical Evidence has far surpassed my expectations. Mine is Perpetual with Harmony because I’m running it with a Harmony bow. Bouncing Harmony back and forth between the two is amazing, and when you add Radiant and Mechaneers, I’m absolutely melting people. As for your tier list, it is pretty spot on though I would say I’d move up Lonesome and Enigma’s Draw up a bit.
@@Sturm_and_Drang it does not one shot with just Harmony. You need another buff. Crit is 151 + 20% for Harmony = 181 crit. Not enough to one shot. Radiant adds another 10% which is enough.
Nice to see my boi Swift Verdict is gettin some love. Don’t discard this gun cuz it took the number 5 slot, it’s a beast. People always talk about optimal TTK, but nobody talks about consistency. That’s where Swift Verdict shines. It’s a crit machine with great base range and recoil direction. Other sidearms might edge it out for TTK, but in trials, reliability and dueling is king. Swift Verdict is the only sidearm I’ll use in trials, it’s just too reliable and flexible for me to put down.
And while it doesn't have the "fastest" optimal TTK, 0.70s is still nothing to sneeze at. And in terms of bodyshot TTK, its actually the fastest, at 0.93s. And when Kill Clip is rolling, it can 2C 1B for a lightning fast and very easy melt... Or even just damage bosted bodyshot people to death in 0.70s. Its soooo good.
Good stuff. Honestly, I havent touched a sidearm since they sunset 18 Kelvins.I know there are sidearms similar to it. But it was the sound, the sights and everything about it that made it special. I loved it so much. The Buzzard was a close second. I hope at some point that gun comes back.
If you can get 3 Crucible Rank resets during the bonus Valor weeks (like right now) you have a very good shot at getting The Keening to drop with up to 5 perks to choose from, and Multi-Kill Clip helps it bring back that 18 Kelvins feel
I really liked the look and feel of buzzard but my most used sidearms have been peacebond and drang, and I'd recommend both in pvp and even in pve for stasis and solar builds respectively.
Personally I love having Vorpal Weapon on my sidearms. Ever since Breachlight I rarely run a sidearm that doesn’t have Vorpal on it, because people never expect how quickly they can delete roaming supers
I picked up swift verdict back before s15 dropped and I haven't put it down since. I got the roll of quickdot/armorpiercing/threat detector/rangefinder/range mw and its become my favorite legendary for 3v3's. It's such a monster at overpowering other cqc weapons that I'm genuinely surprised I never see anyone else running it. I appreciate that you put it on the list and encouraged people to go get theirs, I hope more people can have the fun I've been having with it.
I’ve farmed the snot out of it trying to get that kill clip role (still trying ) I like rangefinder but I want that power. My lonesome has it and I want that same thing for a energy weapon
@@coleliddiard1148 I've got a RF roll and a KC roll and I gotta say, the RF roll is better for me. Just shocks everyone how I can gun them down at ranges they think they're safe in.
Great video! Thank you very much for all the work you put into these. Your sidearm reviews have really changed my pvp game for the better. I crafted Empirical Evidence with your suggested perks a while back and have chalked up so many kills with it. Its tough to use anything else in that slot now.
For your top 5 I can’t include forgiveness or empirical in my top 5 punching out and peace bond take those slots but for the most part I agree and they aren’t far behind
Great video, TV. I always value your reviews because I know you don't settle for just taking a glance at the perk sheet or taking the weapons to a few games in Crucible, but you use them extensively and get several hundred kills before passing judgment on them.
I really like my Enigma's Draw with Shortspec sights, armor piercing rounds, full auto, Rangefinder with a handling masterwork. I would have preferred Zen moment instead of full auto but this is the only one I have left.
I like the feel of Empirical Evidence especially after the recoil change but the problem with it for me since the beginning has been its sound effects. Nails on a chalkboard. Playing with headphones means it just stabs me straight in the brain with every trigger pull. I hate its sfx so f*cking much so I can only use it in pve with music on.
Love the video! I tell people all the time the empirical evidence is godly and glad to see the sidearm god agrees. I personally run enhanced encore with mine just because those stat buffs make kill chaining with adiago even that much more crisp or easier to get at longer ranges no matter if you get a body or headshot final blow. Once again great content!!
I know I’m doing exactly what you said I would, but no Enigma’s Draw? I’ve got 4500+ kills on a rangefinder opening shot roll. This thing is a 260rpm hand cannon
I snagged a Moving Target / Multikill Clip roll on my very last Adept Forgiveness the week it was up and I am quite simply in love. I have never felt more confident in 2v1 and even 3v1 rounds, just zipping around and chaining those two-bursts.
The Lonesome is a Beast! And Full Auto is so nice on controller! It’s nice to not have to worry about mashing the trigger, while keeping shots on target.
Empirical Evidence is definitely my favorite. As soon as i got it, i used it exclusively for a month. Drang and Peacebond get the next most use for me.
I would say Anonymous Autumn (sunset) and the Farewell. Because both are lightweight frames give you the extra speed to close the gap and play very aggressive. Besides they roll with rangefinder and (multi)killclip. With a max range of 17.8 meters with a TTK off 0.67.
Wanna just throw in some love for my favorite sidearm at the moment. The farewell is a sidearm that performs well outside its archetype. The only lightweight that can roll rangefinder so you can reach ~18m. The lightweight frame gives you passive mobility and a sprint speed boost along with way higher handling than almost all its sidearm competition. Has an optimal TTK that is only .07 slower than an adaptive sidearm but with an 80% crit ratio vs 100 while having the same body shot ttk. And its rangefinder is found in the 3rd column letting you run combos with MKC, vorpal, adrenaline junky, or frenzy. The biggest issue is that it's from season of the splicer so if you didn't farm one you're SOL. If xur ever sells one, I highly recommend people pick it up and try one. Lightweights are some of the most smooth sidearm gameplay I've had, and farewell is easily the king of those lightweight.
From one sidearm lover to another, love this video TV. I could've watched you breakdown all the exotic and legendary sidearms. Please also try Redback again, that gun is magical in duals.
@@somefishhere I honestly don’t think the perk combo matters, it’s always good. Was using a perpetual & rampage, but a new one dropped for me with better range and stability. That one is killing wind & surrounded. If you want killclip, pull out the Rattler from collections.

WOWW the Swift verdict. When you made your individual video about it felt to me like you wrote it off. Now to see it in the top five... I'm glad, I love that gun 🥲
Just finally leveled up my Evidence. Encore, adagio. The CoolGuy roll. This thing slaps. Takes a bit of time getting used to tho. I liked it so much i threw a trials momento on there to make it goofy gold. Love it. Awesome video!
Alright, you convinced me to finally pull my lvl 1 Empirical out of the Vault and level it up! Loved the video, and appreciate the love and effort you put in!
Tried the Keening, and loved it. Wouldnt have given it a shot if not for your vid. I've always been a shotty guy, but with them getting nerfed into the ground, I needed an alternative. Keeping my eye out for good sidearms now!
You have turned me into a pure sidearm guy. My top choices are travelers chosen, empirical evidence, fools remedy, and punching out. Obviously drang is top tier, but I like the perks on the others so much more!
Great tier list TV! Empirical is my go to kinetic legendary and Drang and Keening are basically tied for my energy slot. I ran Drang until it got sunset and then I went to keening when that dropped. It's always hard for me to choose which one I want to run now that Drang is back. Empirical/Monarque is a great combo.
my first and only swift verdict rolled with quickdot, ricochet rounds, full auto and kill clip. been keeping it in the vault but i think ima try it out after watching this video
Forgiveness is my baby. I really like Empirical Evidence as well, but I usually have something that I want in my kinetic slot, and Forgiveness fills out my loadout with a great close range option in the energy slot. It also feels like it gets kills from a lot further than it should, so I can even step into engagments that I maybe normally wouldn't with other sidearms because I know it can compete. It's so, so consistent.
Swift Verdict Gang Forever! Seriously, thanks for doing this. I personally like Swift Verdict (surplus/rangefinder) more than the rest, but I can understand and appreciate your analysis and arguments. Obviously so much is personal preference. I just love the range and snappiness that roll affords, as well as the TTK. Drang is awesome too, but I can't get over the ghost bullets. And I still don't have an Adept Forgiveness, so that might be a contender for me someday. (Something about Empirical - I don't really love it, but it could be aesthetic as much as anything.)
I’ve been using Forgiveness (Adept) in PvE. I got a near exact Breachlight roll on it, that being Demo and Multi kill clip, and I’m really loving it. I can very much vouch for Swift Verdict in PvP. Got Killing Wind/Kill Clip, and when I paired it with Thorn in comp and Trials, I could comfortably get a few team wipes. Might have to dust it out of the vault and bring it in with Piece of Mind or back to Thorn
Love the video, never would have thought your number 1 pick would be what it was. I will now craft and give it another shot. Any intention of a ‘Sunset side arms Bungie needs to bring back’ would love that.
Loved the video and the effort behind it! although was hoping on a more in-depth video about sidearms in general as reference video for sidearms in PvP, would love a follow up video mentioning the reason behind the placements!
Yeah as sidearm fan since the days of destiny 1 never got into shotguns really in pvp, and continuing to practice spoiler alert is one of my big favorites in the kinetic slot. Feeding frenzy swashbuckler high cal and reload mw. Keening is solid in the energy slot, Drang was my go to for a long while I had a old one that was sunset and just recently retired it that had close to a thousand kills on it. Lasted me a long time. Brass attacks is slept on quite a bit though on a off note. I also feel the perk surrounded is disregarded too often especially on rapid fire sidearms while true not the best perk but if you get caught with two guys or more in your face whether bad call on a play and push the wrong area or guys come at you this perk has had it's uses. Just my two cents. Nice vid.
Great video man! A lot of your final tier list graphic looked upsidedown to my personal sidearm experience, but you make such compelling, well spoken, positive points for these weapons and I’m genuinely excited to use some of them again with a different peerspective. Amazing job x
Your list, your opinion - no problem; everything is cool... But it absolutly blows my mind, that you put Enigma´s Draw in the D-Tier. For me personal, it is without any question, the number 1 Sidearm in the game. My List would be: 1. Enigma´s Draw 2. Empirical Evidence 3. The Fool's Remedy 4. Drang 5. Swift Verdict
I’ve got a tactic sas, RR, opening shot, range finder and stability mw. I think I only tried it once. I should probably use that a bit more and see what I think lol
This was great. I'd also love to see you break down your tier list. There's a lot of interest in there like how far the lightweights have fallen (I'll never forget my rangefinder Autumn, accidentally dismantled but never forgotten) and why one lightweight rides higher than the rest etc etc etc... ...and there's no one I'd want to hear talk about all these guns more than you.
Man. I’m gonna have to bump forgiveness and add Farewell. 360s melt regardless of perks. Rangefinder for deeper kills Vorpal/ unrelenting for utility. Mad consistent gun.
I wish breachlight and the sundial weapons came back. I loved my Max range rampage+demolitionist roll. Right now I'm loving the Max range perpetual motion + adagio empirical evidence. I'm also leveling up a drang currently. Dunno what perks I'll go with on it but it's base stability and handling are feeling good enough for me to put the full auto mod on it
I got a rapid hit and kill clip lonesome. Also has richochet rounds and a range masterwork. It's like having a kinetic version of swift verdict. If anyone has a lonesome don't sleep on that sidearm! It can compete with handcannons. It's amazing!
He claps me twice with the forgiveness in this video at the wormhaven clip. Can confirm, he's nasty with forgiveness🤣🤣 in my defense I was using frontiers cry that match lol
My favorite legendary SA atm is my Farewell with stability MW, smallbore, Flared magwell, subsistence, and multi KC. Second is my keening with stability MW, fluted barrel, Ricochet, sideways, and multi KC
On the forgiveness sidearm I know you might disagree with well-rounded here, but I highly suggest running it with a weighted throwing knife build. You have it up constantly and a 2x of the buff is actually very useful
Love your list, my favorite sidearm is peacebond with RF and Swash. That + bottom tree striker (frontal assault + reversal + knock out) have got me so many clutches in Trials where I'm down 1v2 or 1v3.
As a fellow longtime sidearmer, I find it interesting that we have completely opposite taste when it comes to pvp. For pve, 300's all day (40k kills with my Translation Theory). For pvp? I'll only rock 3 bursts (Last Dance, Vison) or 360's (Anonymous Autumn). I find the other archetypes way less forgiving.
This is a great video! It's nice to hear someone provide their own opinion, based on their own experiences. I'll have to give the empirical evidence a try.
This will age very well considering ZK mushroom, a non sidearm main agrees with the number 1 pick. When you get a pvp god agreeing with you, you definitely know your stuff. I don’t think sidearms will ever be as underrated as they once were. Kinda crazy how meta they still are. Amazing that they can win engagements they have no right even being in.
Normally I respect your opinions a lot, but I think the hate for full auto is absolutely insane. You can perform so much better in a duel when you can you can turn the part of your brain responsible for pulling the trigger off entirely an refocus all your thinking in a duel to strictly just hitting your shots, especially with adaptives and lightweights. There’s no mod I’d rather run than that in every pvp scenario, I couldn’t care less about a minor aim assist bump from targeting or ae bump from Icarus
Great vid. Will have to try swift verdict again. Never tried the keening but have a few crazy rolls. Long time favourite have been adaptive burst with range finder. Lethal potential huge range.
This was really good information. Definitely felt a tinge of pain when I saw that Lonesome and Spoiler Alert ranked so low 😅 I’ll have to check out the other guns. Even though those CWL 2-taps on Lonesome are hard to let go of
So many people have written off Empirical Evidence because of it's performance after it was first released... I try to push as many people to try it out again after the stability was improved. It is one of my favorite weapons in Destiny
Heya! Just wanna say that The Vision is a honorable mention when it comes to 3 burst adaptives or omolon adaptives. I have a surplus, elemental capacitor, flared magwell roll with a wuickdot sas sight. It feels amaizing

I have a surplus/frenzy Punching Out which is fantastic.
I love swift verdict with forerunner and tricksleeves. Even though i got an old one with full auto, but goddamn rangefinder makes a difference.
Great video! I love your input on Sidearms and Snipers. (The reason why I main those)
Forgot to say that with high energy fire you can stack even more on the 75 damage of the Swift Verdict, it is nuts.
You put me onto empirical evidence with adagio. Quickly became one of if not my fav sidearm. Its soooo strong lol
So glad this was finally made!! :)
I'd give you more than one like if I could, great breakdown, TV.
For me: Punching Out is my go-to
Your list, your opinion - no problem; everything is cool...
But it absolutly blows my mind, that you put Enigma´s Draw in the D-Tier. For me personal, it is without any question, the number 1 Sidearm in the game.
My List would be:
1. Enigma´s Draw
2. Empirical Evidence
3. The Fool's Remedy
4. Drang
5. Swift Verdict
I’ve got a tactic sas, RR, opening shot, range finder and stability mw. I think I only tried it once. I should probably use that a bit more and see what I think lol
On enigmas draw
My punching out with RF / kill clip is my personal favorite. It was moving target kill clip fools remedy prior
Thank you for covering this weapon class in such great detail. Love this archetype!
Tarantino's take on the 90s was also about the renaissance of Indy movies which were discouraged by the studios during in the 80s
Man. I’m gonna have to bump forgiveness and add Farewell.
360s melt regardless of perks.
Rangefinder for deeper kills
Vorpal/ unrelenting for utility.
I dont know, man. Fools Remedy with the Killclip perk has opponents attempting to jump out of the way. They dont seem to know what to do. lol
Great video and appreciate your insight on sidearms….love sidearms…my favorite is punching out
He claps me twice with the forgiveness in this video at the wormhaven clip. Can confirm, he's nasty with forgiveness🤣🤣 in my defense I was using frontiers cry that match lol
I left a like because I very much agree with the order ☺️
My favorite legendary SA atm is my Farewell with stability MW, smallbore, Flared magwell, subsistence, and multi KC. Second is my keening with stability MW, fluted barrel, Ricochet, sideways, and multi KC
Man this is an awesome video!! Thanks for all of your hard work!!
Heck yea TV!! This is awesome!!!
Agreed
Double primary enjoyers taking over! Excellent video dude. 🙌🏾
Even though those CWL 2-taps on Lonesome are hard to let go of
Spoiler Alert is definitely not the greatest, but it’s reaaaaallllly fun.
@@Electric.Spaghetti.Neon.Studio I love it. so fun to use in PVP!
@@KenHart the Redback is very very fun too!
Amazing video TV was so excited to see this on YT today!! Everyone please like this video and send it to your friends also
I agree for almost all them, but I’d definitely have peacebond in the 5 spot. Thanks for making this video, I’ve been patiently waiting :)
The vid we’ve been waiting for thanks TV
So many people have written off Empirical Evidence because of it's performance after it was first released... I try to push as many people to try it out again after the stability was improved. It is one of my favorite weapons in Destiny
Heya! Just wanna say that The Vision is a honorable mention when it comes to 3 burst adaptives or omolon adaptives. I have a surplus, elemental capacitor, flared magwell roll with a wuickdot sas sight. It feels amaizing
Farewell with rangefinder and multikill clip is surprisingly incredible
