Wonderful video as expected from you! I must say I follow several YT photographers/vloggers but you, sir, have this finesse which is evident not only in your body of work but also in your style of teaching. The final image is outstanding and I also echo the requests posted in the comments about walking us through your process of blending the two images in Photoshop.
I've just started with the photography hobby and went through all of your videos. They're all informative and comprehensive. Keep doing such amazing videos. You're great, Attilio!
Thanks for the video. Nice scenery and great final picture you got in the end. Good idea to add the woman in red. Hope we will see your photoshop-editing in the next video 😊
I cover/cap off my viewfinder for every long exposure shot. I learned the hard way after light leaked in through my viewfinder and totally ruined some fantastic images. I'm glad it happened because that is how you learn. Attilio glad to see you back in the field! Awesome Photograph.
Loved that countdown... got me excited lol Your videos are great. You keep my attention that while time. Can't wait to take my camera out and try long exposure!
Attilio, truly magical shot and looks like some place from the fairyland. Loved how passionately you explained the process of capturing such image. Your work is outstanding .
beautiful Attilio, congratulations to the model, bet that water was cold, at least she didn't have to stand figid for 20 minutes, thanks for sharing. All the best.............Peter.
Wonderful once again. I have the next two weeks off wild camping on some of Scotland's islands. I hope to try my hand at long exposure seascapes thanks to your tutorials. Many thanks.
Last week I asked you about stacking two filters, and I bought them and as soon as they arrived I took an experimental photo and they worked well. Exactly as you did, one 10 stops and one 6 stops, but I added also a GND 2 stops.. Worked fine with a 14 minutes exposure. Very good quality glasses. Thank you for your help and support. This video showed how silky your texture can reach with this technique. I'm in love with it.
Grazie Attilio. Mi hai ricordato gli anni dell' accademia, quando la fotografia era puro divertimento...giocare con la luce...sperimentazione...e non megapixel...nitidezza...rumore...ecc.
Hey Attilio. Your vids certainly have potential since you explain items very well. Just a suggestion... Have you considered changing the camera you film your vids with to something a bit better in the area of auto focus? So far I have watched two videos of yours where the camera that is filming you is not on a tripod and it is very apparent that it keeps losing focus (it is almost as if you are using a contrast based focus system with a lens with the aperture wide open to achieve depth of field). I'm sure you know this all too well, as watching on a big screen makes this focus issue take away from your great vids.
I recently saw a seal not moving the slightest bit in a long exposure photograph of the sea ... now I know how it was taken or put together :D didn't come to my mind you could blend the photos this perfectly.
If that's all you're interested in, then just google for long exposure photos. Those who appreciate the work and effort put behind in creating such amazing art will watch and re-watch the entire video ... several times
Well done. Lovely result, and inspiring. I shot a 17 minute image yesterday evening (a lake just after sunset, no colour and 99% cloud). The exposure should have been 8 minutes but because the light was fading I doubled it...I had one chance, and it was perfect. I'll be doing more like this.
Attilio, as always I really enjoyed the video. It´s the best thing to do when I get home after a long working day......... having a coffee and watching your YT videos. Love it so much. Thank you. PS: Is it possible to get somewhere your AR T-shirt? :)
Another interesting video! I've been experimenting with more long exposures myself. One thing I noticed though is that the model's reflections show ripples that are obviously absent on the rest of the lake. Any way to smooth out the reflection in Photoshop so that it's consistent with the rest of the image? Thanks.
Another fabulous tutorial in a wonderful natural setting...Idaho! Attillio what was the ND filter used for the first image using “The Lady in Red”?And..thank you so much for your channel and educating your readership on long exposure photography.
Bellissimo video, come sempre del resto. Grazie per condividere le tecniche che utilizzi, ma sopratutto grazie per portaci con te in questi posti nuovi e stupendi.
Attilio, I just want to say a big thank you for all the great videos you make. You certainly inspired me to take up long exposure photography. Your amazing photography, the videos, the music you use, and the subtle touches you add are all beautiful. One question I have which I don't know if you can help with and that is colour banding in photos when the saturation is adjusted, how do you fix this and how do you deal with it? Thank you once again.
WOW!!!! What an incredible image!! You have inspired me to get out there and try a super long exposure! The longest one I have done so far is a one-minute ASTRO shot -- BUT this has encouraged me to try something like what you have done!! Thanks so much for your channel and the instruction and encouragement you share!!!
Buona Sera Attilio, what a beautiful image you created with your 20 minute exposure. What did you use to stop the light from getting in between the 10 & 6 stopper filters. Keep up the good work, you now have a new follower, and I hope I can emulate your inspirational style of photography. Chow
Can you do a video of how you merged those two images in photoshop? I am sure there is still processing in Lightroom, but when - before merging in PS or after merging? I want to do long exposures like this, but have the trees, leaves and tall beach grass sharp in the image. You have great videos but if you can do a tutorial on how you merged these two images, that would be great. Thank You!
Great collection on your site, Attilio! Watching your series "Lady in red" and "Nature in motion" made me wonder if you ever consider combining them. Lady in motion seemed moving only on one photo. Letting lady to move in appropriate speed during long exposure could add ghost-like effect and more mystery to your wonderful long exposure shots. Just some thoughts, maestro Attilio...
Super video, always well done. And appreciate that you share your settings with us. A question; how do you get rid of the noise with such a long exposure?
@@AttilioRuffo thanks for your fast answer. wow oke .. yes, I wondered if this part was 'edited'. for my camera (nikon D7500 with a san disk extreme pro 95 mb/s) the writing takes about the same time of the exposure again (sometimes annoying when you take a few minutes exposure). I wonder if it is simply my gear or if there is any setting to be able to see the picture quicker ?
Patrick, check that you've got your Long Exposure Noise Reduction turned to OFF. I was having the same problem, now I just do the noise reduction in post.

very interesting but what about the reverse situation and the exposure time : i.e. a very long exposure at sunrise when the light conditions gradually change ! How do you calculate the exposure time that avoids overexposure ? Kind regards, Alex
