The airframe is one thing, the real cost is in the turbines. Have worked on dozens and dozens, and completed HSI, gearbox inspections and complete overhaul's on 3-4 times that many
Every time that little gauge goes over that little red line put several thousand dollars in a jar. Your going to need it. However this aircraft and the Turbocomander are some of the best aircraft that were made. MU-2 came to the US in a box and were assembled in San Angelo Texas.

Turbine of all makes do not take abuse without cost. The TTPE331-10 is a robust engine that can run and make power even with lots of heat damage, of course at teardown things get expensive. In 2008 we paid 175K per engine for overhaul, the prices now are much much more. but still less than Pratts..

In the early-mid 70s, I grew up near SJT. Still recall rows of these still green, out on the ramp, others painted. I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for the MU-2.❤️

this gear swing was needed because the forward right door switch failed and sheared the shear pin.

not bad to go down, but we really need the gear to retract faster - it coudl be a matter of life or death...

What is 100 hours cost for this plane? By the way, thanks for your advice, I finally figured out how to landed this plane. I still have some questions, but it's hard to explain without pictures.

Most MU2 aircraft follow the manufacturers maintenance program. No annuals. The basic inspections are the 100 hour, 100/200 hour. There are many others each one looks at items as they come due. A 100 hour is about 4K plus squawks, parts etc.. It will run 8K on the low end and might go into the mid teens but not every time. The MU2 as turboprops go is one of the lower cost aircraft when it come to maintenance. Plus burning 10 percent less fuel than say a King Air 200 makes it overall less to own.. The purchase price of any turboprop is really just the initiation fee. LOL

How long takes for you make it 200 hours? One guy in RUclips had his own MU 2, he made some videos, but then he sold this plane. Must be very hard pay all 100-200 inspections and make a living. What was your first feeling flying MU2? Lots of pilots saying it's very dangerous plane, because of spoilers, specially if you get ice on it.
Can you please tell me about your experience.
      Thanks

@@transporterdispatch231 as a mu2 pilot I can guarantee it is a safe airplane. I would say (maybe in the past) the mu2 was missunderestood due to its features and especially lack of training. Mu2 it's a high performance turbopropeller and requires careful when operating, but she will take you everywhere you want under a low cost.

Thank you for answering back to me. I'm beginner in aviation, only 140 hours, flying my IFR hours. For some reason I like MU2 but I never saw this plane in reality. I fly this plane in Xplane 11. And sometimes I have a questions. Too bad Xplane don't have check lists for planes, would be lot easier understand what and how to operate.

"Mu2 pilot check list eastaire", there is a fine material to dowload in pdf. Following that, will be more realistic your operations on fsx. All the best and safe flights!
