Good job Nick. I Should have commented a long time ago. This is Brian Jones at his finest. He makes the song with his riff. You rock dude. More Rolling Stones please. You are very talented. Keep up the good work. You are my favorite youtube artist.
Proud of you, Nick. This comes from a guy who has covered ALL their stuff over the years. Brian Jones era was best. Mick Taylor did a great job to keep them on life support. That is all.
Very nice cover !! I really appreciate the singing ! I covered this song a few days ago and I think it's a pity that I found yours just now.. My kindest regards from France ! Thomas
Really good man. I've known this song since it was released when I was a little kid and been a fan of the stones since I was like 6 (really) I'm totally impressed. Rock on
Many years ago a Beatles fan went into Woolworth's Department Store. Coming out he had a copy of an album entitled "Out Of Our Heads" under his arm. Going home he placed the record on the family Sears Silvertone HiFi . Listening for the first time to "The Last Time" he realized this band was not The Beatles. The riff was serving notice.
really awesome sound...one of my favorites if not #1..i would love to know how you are playing the main riff..as i have never really seen it done this well..thanks again
Just a quick question if you can help. How are playing the intro riff on the guitar, I'm trying and failing to figure it out :(. Most of the other versions I have seen don't seem to sound right to me, but yours sounds great.
WHOO HOOOOO! This is FANTASTIC, and great that you posted in black and white. Check out the Bacon Brothers and Daryl Hall doing this song at Live From Daryl's House - I just watched it, and that's how I came to search for other versions...keep singing and strumming. XO!
Happy to: go to the website LiveFromDarylsHouse and scroll down the Show Archive until you find Episode 16 Bacon Brothers. Then scroll down the Playlist for that show and find "Last Time" at the bottom of that show's Playlist.
usas la cuarta cuerda para el riff, vaya no crees que es mas dificil asi, bueno al menos a mi se me hace mas dificil trabajar con esos trastes en esa cancion, prefiero trabajar con la 3ra y 2da cuerda, pero se oye bien.
Nick Martellaro : WE HAVE SENT MANY REPLIES TO YOUR VIDEOS. WE NEVER SEE YOUR FACE PLAYING AN INSTRUMENT. JUST SHOW ONE. EITHER YOU ARE IN YOUR ROOM OR GARAGE. UST SHOW ONE VIDEO WITH YOU AND GUITAR
I really appreciate all the views, thanks! You keep asking me to show myself singing and playing an instrument at the same time. I'm not sure if you realize this, but in a studio you do the vocals after laying down an instrumental backing track. The Beatles figured this out by 1964! My covers are studio recordings, not live covers. If your issue is not being able to see my face during the instrumental tracks, that's because I purposely zoom in on the instruments. I actually switched it up in some videos (see "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "So Sad About Us") where I did full body shots of me playing. However, I received a lot of messages saying zooming further out made the videos harder to learn from. See, when I started this channel, I hoped people would use these videos educationally. Over the years, I've come to learn that a large chunk of my audience are musicians, and they use these videos to help figure out obscure tracks that don't have tabs available for them. So, I generally stick with zooming in as close as possible to the guitar when filming backing tracks. You can't please everyone, I guess. Like I said, check out some of the videos mentioned above if you really need verification that I can play an instrument (never thought I'd have to say that after all these years). I also have a few instructional videos (see my "Nowhere Man" series). Oh, and since I often can't sing as high as Paul McCartney, many of my covers are tuned half-step down, so there's no way sampling original Beatles recordings would even work. Not to mention it would be highly unethical, and illegal. Next time you decide to spend a week commenting "FAKE!!!" on all my videos, do some research first!
actually the leading riff was writen by jones and he arranged this like most other mega hits. when I hear the name keith my assossiation goes to keith moon the best drummer not mediocree overated guitarist richards.
4 years later, thank you so much everyone!!!

Awesome rendition...good work brother Nick.
Wow, you've got it going on Nick....really nice timing with very nice instrumental's..so many singers would kill to have those vocals.....big fan!
This is a smasher - along with 19th. Nervous Breakdown. Love the rawness/simplicity .... it contrasts with the lyrics,.
Thanks everyone, this song is now available for download on iTunes! Just search Nick Martellaro, and all my other songs will come up as well :)
this is the best version I have of this song.... I want to hire you fo my party! you are a top man, great music

OMG ❤❤❤so nice !👍🏼👍🏽🎶 Masterpiece 🎼🎵🎶
Love it ! Superstar⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
One of best self-made covers of this song - especially because the bass line is nearly the same to the original, and is played evenly and punctually.
Now that is how it's done. Great version 👌
Wow best stones cover ever . sounds old even . Well done nick
Awesome cover. I'm SUBBING your channel. I am ready to learn more Stones covers... and your gonna teach me right here! Great starting point.

Que emoción, oír tu versión....
Actually that segment starts with a chili contest in Daryl's kitchen and at about 3:25 cuts to them playing the song. Check out the ankle tambourine!

What a refreshing treat, like a cashew parfait. Great Job to wit.
Great sound, I love it! The Tennessean sounds so good
Quite inspiring

This song was right before “Satisfaction”, so I hear a similarity.
Can You do Jumpin' Jack Flash
i have to ask...I've looked at 4 different covers of this song on you tube...and everyone has a Hofner Bass in it... what the heck.
Very good indeed :-)
are you using a G5120?
Me too. Where do you live?
👍👏
fuckin amazing.. and I am very critical with music.....
Cant find the Hall and Bacon version. Point me there.
FUCKING GREAT MAN
Written by Glimmer Twins - RIFFed by Brian "Elmo" Jones!!
great cover...happy to know you approached it like the stones did. Just don't try to live like Keith....it don't work out too well...;)
Lawrence Welk says, won-a-ful, a won-a-ful yessir. Ed Sullivan too yowza.
Perfection..woow..I sub.
greetings from Iraq..Peace..
You dont do the arpeggios that Brian does. Look around the tube and do it right.
Para mi,el riff de Brian Jones no lo hace del todo bien.
