The Rolling Stones - The Last Time (Full Cover)

- My first Stones cover, done in a rather strange fashion: the drums were recorded almost a year ago during the sessions for "Presenting...Julian Bailinson," and all the other tracks were recorded in a 4-hour marathon session on the night of December 28-29. Somehow, it still turned out fairly cohesive-sounding.

Finally, somebody who actually hears the arpeggios Brian played. The other deaf musicians Ive seen covering this always leave them out. Good ears my friend, same as me. I picked them out in 1966 when I bought the album. Thank you !

Thanks for performing my favorite music on the radio memory. In early 1965 I was a 14 year-old farm kid in western Ohio who knew that when the sun set and local radio stations powered down I could pull in the signal from Boston's WBZ -- A.M. 103. I was listening the night that deejay Juicie Brucie Bradley got an on-air call from a fan in a London phone booth who proceeded to play The Stones' just-released single, "The Last Time," on his portable reel-to-reel tape player. Those of us tuned in that night were probably the first fans in the U.S. to hear that classic Brian Jones guitar riff.
That's a wonderful story. Like you, I loved radio as a kid and later became a DJ for a number of years.

Brian Jones (February 28, 1942 - July 3, 1969), aged 27
Ian Stewart (July 18, 1938 - December 12, 1985), aged 47
Charlie Watts (June 2, 1941 - August 24, 2021), aged 80
You will always be remembered as legends.

@@johnjoseph9797 way back then I was running all the guitars through a Vox AD30 Valvetronix amp and the bass through an Ampeg PF-350

I just got tired of lugging it all around in 8boxes from Apt. to Apt. I sold everything to a burned-out hippie in 2006. I had every Studio Album plus two bootleg albums where Jagger sang in German & French. I had a red working telephone with tongue & lips. Had three shoe boxes of pins, button's, patches. Had three huge Stones flags, Had six Stones Drinking glasses had 8Stones mirror's, had two signed LP's Aftermath & Tattoo You I waited outside Hotels and got them. I had a copy of Brian Jones, last letter to the Stones. Had lithograph's, had 16 posters, had 8Tour books. I saw them twice. 1981, in Philly, when they Opened their U.S. Tour, with George Thorogood & Journey with Steve Perry. Also saw them in 97-98 Bridge's to Babylon tour me& my younger brother (Rip) had third row seats. Also I played guitar 🎸 for 26yrs. I'm getting older Now & Sort of lost interest with in playing ever since my younger brother died in 2018. I hope you understand. However I stumbled across your channel today. I think this is my favorite Stones song. I just can't get enough of the repeated riff over and over and over and over. Plus love the lead and vocal harmony. Lyrics are great too.
