    The defensive rating stuff is tricky to measure, and that comment at the end lacks a bit of context for this season.
    Bucks Defensive Rating was 111.8, ranked 14th. Lakers had a 113.3, ranked 21st. There's also a 1 point differential between the Bucks and 76ers, who have a 110.8 rating and are only 2 spots ahead of the Bucks. The top 10 this year has a range from 106.9 to 110.5. The bottom 10 has a range of 113 to 116.9. So a 1 point difference could matter in some context, but overall on a per season basis, the numbers can be all over the place.

      @Jim Book Not saying it is a bad thing, but considering LeBron is taller and more athletic than Kobe, LeBron's game has been mostly inside, like toward the paint, especially when in the 2000s it was commonplace to double team the star player. LeBron took advantage of his athleticism when he was getting double teamed, Kobe used his footwork and fundamentals to hit fadeaways on opponents, theoretically, the closer you are to the basket, the higher probability you have of making the basket. Kobe was playing against some of the greatest defensive teams in NBA history, and scoring in that era was low all around, in comparison to today and back in the 80s.

      I mean he's missed insanely stupid shots his entire career and yet has had immense success. 2004 finals was a big blemish on his career but its somewhat understandable when you consider he was dealing with the SA case during that period. Bro was apparently going to court and then showing up minutes before playoff games, so I think that cuts him a little bit of slack but it doesn't completely remove that stain. 2008 was one of the tougher finals he went to cause he played a more talented boston roster and they were pretty outmatched considering pau gasol was also performing poorly. 2010 is a hard finals to rate as well because he was playing that entire playoffs with injury. His knee was fucked up where he had to get injections cause his cartilage was basically gone. And he had a broken finger, and was coming off a plethora of injuries he suffered earlier.

It totally worked and the pistons got the chip)

    LOW sucks at using stats. If your year by year FG%, 3P%, and eFG% are below or at the corresponding nba avgs of that year it doesn’t look like your that efficient. Kobe needed 8 FTA a game to be efficient per TS%. Efficiency isn’t just 1 stat. You need multiple corresponding stats to paint the picture. If Kobe doesn’t get to the line, he’s not efficient. Which is why he’s shot himself out of finals like 2004/2008 and Shaq rescued his ass in 2000/2001 finals. If he still wants to use this idiotic stat argument here your go. Steph shot like shit in the 2016 finals and still had a higher TS% than Kobe did in all but one of his finals appearances (2002). So that right there shows a weakness in the TS% argument.

      What you're saying is like "LeBron won't be as efficient if we don't count his shots around the basket".

    • @Nuthinnull
      @Nuthinnull 2 года назад +2

      take free throws away from every scorer and their efficiency goes down. Getting to the free throw line is an efficient style of play. And true shooting should only be compared relative to era so idk why you comparing 01 Kobe to 16 curry.

    • @nymade4130
      @nymade4130 2 года назад

      You’re literally cherrypicking to make his stats worse. And obviously Steph will have a better TS% dickhead he shoots the most three in nba history and is the best shooter ever no player pre 2015 era should have a TS% that’s comparable and yet Kobe still did it in 2002 according to your logic. And let’s not even mention who played against in those finals and what he averaged right?

      And part of it is comparing Kobe to MJ, to Lebron, and to other top 10 players. Kobe was inefficient compared to them. And comparing him to Ray Allen and Klay Thompson, who are 3 point shooters, which is a lower percentage shot, is the video trying to be dishonest.

If you take away kobe bryant from the history of the league, I don't believe ANY of the top players in the league right now would be as good and great as they are right now.
