That looks great! I often air dry on wash day, but I always diffuse for any substantial refresh. I get absolutely cr@p results without it: NONE of my bounce comes back, I just get wonky, irregular, stretched-out bends. (I have long, fine, low/medium density 2A hair that appears to be low/medium porosity despite chemical processing.) I may start diffusing more on wash day, though. I was avoiding it 70% to avoid damage and 30% out of laziness, but I recently learned from Manes by Mell and Gena Marie (who both cited research), leaving your hair wet for an extended period of time is more damaging than diffusing responsibly (using a heat protectant, not going too high with the temperature). YMMV, and it may be less relevant to you if your hair dries really quickly, but it's worth checking out. (Still doesn't help with the laziness, though...)
I love this product good video! Another cheaper foam I love is the cantu wave whip its actually even lighter the nym almost like water but when you diffuse it works so well. You can use so much and not feel producty. There both really good.
My hair craves protein so my hair loves the Shea Moisture foam. It clumps up and keeps the frizz down. I love it for refreshing and under a hard hold gel because I get some good clumps with it on soaking wet hair.
OMG Wavetech is my holy grail for refreshing, it's literally the only thing that works for me and I've been looking for a drugstore dupe for forever! Personally I hated the curl talk foam, it was weird and gave me really frizzy crunchiness without any real hold. I don't mind a cast, but since I air dry on the way to work I'd rather not have to awkwardly scrunch it out in the parking lot. Also, the curl talk foam seems to hate water for me, if I try to refresh again the next way, the foam residue always screams no. The search continues!
I told you!!! I like the NYM better than wave tech too. Use a little more and you’ll get a bit more hold. It’s way cheaper so you don’t mind using a little bit more.
I washoping when I seen the title that you would use the Not Your Mothers foam. I'm obsessed with this stuff. I have 3A and I only have to put that in and do some touch ups. It makes refreshing so so easy.
Your hair looks great! You may already know this, but i have dyslexia and I was very confused that NYM Curl talk has a foam and a mousse! They look almost identical and have very similar names so it took me awhile to figure it out. Poor me. They supposedly do different things. It would be interesting to see what you think of the NYM curl talk mousse, if you feel inclined. It's not for refreshing, but for styling after you wash.
Ugh you have my dream hair! My hair has a similar curl type as yours but my hair is so thin it’s probably 1/3 of your hair. For thin hair, would you recommend a foam/mousse instead of a curl cream?
Do you have any tips on styling without the side part? It looks amazing on you, but I have a serious widows peak lol! I never know what to do with the front or top of my hair when I wear it wavy
I’d consider shorter top layers so when you do a middle part you have lots of volume and avoid triangle hair. I part my hair down the middle when I wear my bangs down. You can see it styled with my hair cut and layers in my “come to the salon with me”. Other than layers I don’t have too many tips 😥
I love the Curl Talk line but haven't tried the foam, I will pick it up for 2nd day hair. How many sweatshirts do you own?! Looks like alot. Wish I could wear my hair that dark, but I look too pale with it darker.
No problem! It’s actually an old micellar water bottle lol and I just put a nozzle on it from an old conditioner. They have better continuous misters on Amazon though that curly girls rave about!
I know you said you only wash your hair every few days, but in between when you shower, do you still wet your hair, just not wash it. Or do you put on a shower cap to keep it dry?
Just tried this product today... and my hair didn’t turn out anything like how you described. I wanted volumized but still soft curl/waves... I didn’t get anything near that. Crispy, hard noodle hair that’s incredibly stiff no matter how much I scrunch it... and I didn’t even use that much product. I’m so confused. Lol
Girl you’ve helped me so much with my hair! Any recommendations for sections that just don’t want to hold their shape? My hair is so all over the place. I swear I have sections that are like 1-2a and others that are nearly 3b!!!
Aw that makes me so happy! You could try the woman to woman naturals leave in from the gorgeous collection! It has protein which helps to enhance curls and helps curls hold their shape better. You could just focus it on the looser pieces! Also you may just have different textures throughout your hair which is totally normal!🖤
Dude I feel you. My hair is curly when it’s wet and then when it’s dry it’s half straight and half wavy. And it’s not like it’s damaged so I don’t know what’s wrong with it 😅 I’ve been trying protein treatments and that seems to help some 🤷🏻♀️
@@melindab thank so much! Recently everyone at work has been like “your hair isn’t naturally that texture, is it?” Like people seriously don’t believe that I’m not using heat to style! Your videos are sooooooo helpful 💗
I have straight hair underneath my curls and the only thing I have found is after I mist my hair I put the straight clumps in wet hair curlers I got at Dollar Tree while I refresh the rest normally lol
weird question for the curly/wavy peeps...does anyone have a good recommendation for a wide tooth comb and a rec for a water bottle that will have like an even distribution, my dollar store water bottle really isn’t cutting it
If you don’t mind spending a little extra money, Amazon has a great continuous spray bottle that I love! I think I paid like $8 for it but I swear by it :)
Looks great!! How does your hair feel the day after the foam refresh? I find I have to wash my hair after a refresh day because it feels like there is major product buildup. Also as a guitarist... please be careful spraying stuff in front of that guitar. lol
Tangly! Lol I’d have to refresh again if I want to wear it another day that way I could lightly detangle again. Good point with the guitar! I hadn’t even thought of that lol I think it’s far enough away ( it looks a little closer than it actually is in the video) but I’ll definitely watch out for that. Thank you!
Hi! My hair always gets so dry on refresh days, so I purchased a leave in conditioner and when I dampen my hai, I apply a dime sized amount to both sides of my hair! It’s helped soooo much:)
Do you put a leave in conditioner (dime to quarter size amount for both sides) or oil (2-3 drops) on wash day? Before adding those steps into my wash day routine my hair would be superrrr dry on both days.
Definitely make sure to use a deep conditioner on wash day and a leave in conditioner! I love the redken all soft mega mask and the pureology 21 essential benefits leave in for super dry hair! It SAVED my bleach damaged hair and that combo was the first time my hair felt soft in months
I’m really trying to get my waves back but I’m on a budget, so I hope these help!
I feel you! 🖤
I've never tried refreshing with foam but now I really want to. Your hair looks so good!
I hadn’t either but I’m obsessed! Thank you🖤🖤
You should try the Herbal Essences curl mousse. It’s a very light foam and I love refreshing with it.
I have it 😏 trying it next!
That looks great!

Really need to try a foam! Love your videos - so helpful and it feels like you're here in my living room chatting to a friend! 😁
Aw thanks! That’s so nice🖤 I agree! Foams are the way to go for refreshed 🙌
Your baby bangs that are face framed give me Betty Boop vibes. I love it
I love this product good video! Another cheaper foam I love is the cantu wave whip its actually even lighter the nym almost like water but when you diffuse it works so well. You can use so much and not feel producty. There both really good.
Yessss dude I’ve heard good things about that too! I tried to grab it too but my Walmart didn’t have it
My hair craves protein so my hair loves the Shea Moisture foam. It clumps up and keeps the frizz down. I love it for refreshing and under a hard hold gel because I get some good clumps with it on soaking wet hair.
ADD TO THE CART! LOL seriously though love it. and I like the curl talk gel.....
what if you added a little gel onto it
😂 I’m gonna style with the gel or cream on my next wash day using this! That’s what I used for the wavetech and it gave me amazing results

Same! The foam made my hair gross 🤢
I really like this foam! I dampen and also apply a tiny bit of a lower hold gel 🙃
I just found your videos and finally someone with my hair type thank you!!
I LOVE this foam! Took my refreshes to the next level!
Right!!!
Definitely can’t wait for your diffusing video.
🤗🤗
I told you!!! I like the NYM better than wave tech too. Use a little more and you’ll get a bit more hold. It’s way cheaper so you don’t mind using a little bit more.
YOU WERE SO RIGHT!!! Lol I will definitely use more next time thanks for the tip!!
Also, what style of haircut do you have! It's gorgeous!
I washoping when I seen the title that you would use the Not Your Mothers foam. I'm obsessed with this stuff. I have 3A and I only have to put that in and do some touch ups. It makes refreshing so so easy.
Only Curls foam is awesome too!
Love your hair like this! I want to try a foam but I'm sensitive to scents and haven't seen an unscented foam before
Thank you! Yeah I definitely wouldn’t use either of these foams then especially the wavetech
Your hair looks great! You may already know this, but i have dyslexia and I was very confused that NYM Curl talk has a foam and a mousse! Beautiful results!

Yes definitely! Curl creams can even be too much for my hair which is thicker and coarser than a lot of hair types
Do you have any tips on styling without the side part? It looks amazing on you, but I have a serious widows peak lol! I never know what to do with the front or top of my hair when I wear it wavy

Yay I’m early! Hope everyone is having a beautiful day 😍
Awww heyyyyy🙋♀️ I hope you are too!🖤
@@melindab ☺️☺️

Hi sweetheart luvvv ur hair !! U live in UK where can I buy this product as I need this in my life 😍

Most people have varying curl and wave patterns on their head. It's normal.

conair has a wide tooth comb that has hook thing to hang on the other end that i love! its cheap and can be found at walmart or target!
If you don’t mind spending a little extra money, Amazon has a great continuous spray bottle that I love! I think I paid like $8 for it but I swear by it :)

Ouuu I really want to try this!! Anyone know where I can find it in Canada?
It’s so good! Hope you can find it🖤🖤
Lovely!
I honestly love Brad, but I think wave tech is more targeted towards those with not as curly hair
From experience and your video
