Never ceases to amaze that, even after 85 years, vehicles like this still exist. In need of some tlc, sure, but still - at any point over the last century almost it could have been lost but somehow there it is, still waiting patiently for its turn on the rotisserie.
Awesome finds! That Flathead engine looks like the Flathead shirt logo come to life. Can’t wait to see the cleanup video and see Steve work his magic to get it running
I was just out of multiple deployments in Iraq and Afg, driving down the Interstate, when a truck next to me blew a tire, and i jumped just like yall did when inflating the convertible. Scared the heck outta me. Gave me a good laugh today when i saw yall jump. Been there, lol! Nice job saving the car.
Excavators are the way to go for moving stuff around! It made quick work of the car and motor. I hope you guys are up to date on your shots! Good stuff.
In the late 90's when I worked at a New Holland dealer we had a customer that had one of those 39 convertibles. I had no idea they existed until I saw his in front of what was left of his shop. Unfortunately he had a fire and the car was a total loss.
Nice find Matt iv never seen a 39 - 4door convertible before it have to be a rare body style Ford couldn't have made many! That have to be a keeper I don't no how you find all this old tin and the parts you find good on you I went on a trip last week end to a old wrecking out west NSW Australia to buy a car to finish my project a scrap dealer bought over 500 cars if I'd left it another day it be on a truck on its way to China to return as a toaster he was just going to scrap the lot im still in disbelief! Love the videos Matt & Mike Cheers cs nsw Australia
Little farther south down in Minnesota here, 3038 Ford coupe on Craigslist. Up to about 15 years ago, the old boy used to start it once a year. The car look like it was about 20 years old, not 🚫 80 years old. It was no brainer to buy but I didn't.
What kind of nerd am I? You guys are unearthing a 4 sedan and I'm spying the Cub Cadet Original with wheel weights, fenders and a very hard to find creeper gear! LOL
Seeing how many good cars were stored and left to rot on this property hurts me a lot. Seeing a Cadillac Sedanette with partly open windows, I can imagine how the critters destroyed everything. Tons of tools and parts left in a messy heap inside the shed is not a nice thing to see. I hope this very cool Convertible will be resurrected. It is a huge challenge finding all the usable parts that were inside this disgusting pile of garbage. I bet some parts got lost in the cleaning process. At least you really tried finding all usable things.
Wow, a '39 convertible. What a great find.
It never ceases to amaze me that there are so many hoards like this out there. Its sad because it seems so much of it will just get tossed.
We’re doing our best to save as much as possible!
@@IronTrapGarage come to GA and I will sell you another one :)

Wow! A '39 convertible sedan with all the top bows and hardware! Even if there aren't any floors at all left in it, it's still a great score.
This is one of my favorite cars. ‘39 Fords are just beautiful, especially the convertible. 👍👍
I can't wait to see yaw start this project. Woot woot
Great pick.
1:18 it's like looking into future. Every flat surface has piles of junk, BUT at least there is a walking path. I'm sorting my piles today.
Nice car Matt
Irontrap Garage: Saving the old stuff, one piece at a time.
Classic barn finds at their finest
That one deserves a "will it run and drive?".

Thank you for your service! That definitely scared the crap out of us and we sorta were expecting it! Lol
Nice find! My 57 Catalina was in a barn for about as long, luckily it wasn't open to the elements.
Trashcan 🗑 Approved
Enjoyed this video ! Thanks for taking us along..
Nice find 39 👍👍
Nice find, as mentioned in another comment, so many hoarders let this jewels get rotten...
Wonderful videos ITG!
Greetings from Brazil!
Love watching your barn find treasure hunts. Wish you would show more of the digging and how you identify the parts

loved everything about this video (and the garages)
Nice find Guys!!!
Thanks for another , Brother !
The 39 looks like it is in halfway decent shape! At least still at 13:32 ...
Dude!! Ok??? Nice score!!!?? Flat head looks cool!!!✌️
I really want to see you build that vert the same way you built that 2 door sedan you rescued from the junkyard. I think that would be awesome.
Cool idea
I really don't remember seeing a four door convertible, except for those old T-model touring cars.
Really cool you guys keep proving that they're still out there and that's a cool cool ass ride and it was outside
I’m a sucker for all the wide 5 fords.
I am looking forward to seeing if the Flatheads will run

Nice score on the '39, but will it run?!! and using the infinite Matt glitch sure does get the parts loaded quickly! (great editing!!)
Upcoming video we’ll try and get it running!
Great FIND!
Hot Rod that Phaeton!!!!
It was said to be a Convertible/sedan

Thank you for the video
Hellyea badass find!
CANNOT BELIEVE YOU FOUND A MUCH COVETED FREAKIN' 4-DOOR CONVERTIBLE! WOW, HOW FORTUNATE.
When Mike says "That's probably enough" take out 2psi and roll with it.
Keeper!
You need “Lil Red” that was parked outside next to the convertible. That roll back would come in handy
Did you see the anvil by the front door?
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

another old lift! lots of eye candy among the mess.
It is among the last of it's breed in that 1939 was the last year Ford produced a 4 door ragtop.
Another unloved wreck unearthed by Iron Trap. That engine rotating as it rolled probably ground up an army of mummified mice.
What kind of nerd am I? You guys are unearthing a 4 sedan and I'm spying the Cub Cadet Original with wheel weights, fenders and a very hard to find creeper gear! LOL
As rare as that 39 Ford Deluxe Convertible Sedan is, it's one that deserves to be restored to original instead of getting hot rodded.
I'm not a big fan of dust masks, but I think that'd be a fair dinkum reason to wear one, while emptying out that mess!
100% should have had some but we didn’t realize we were buying that car that day haha.
Nice. Carona and I enjoyed.
I'm itching just from looking

Matt it has been touched. some somebody had to put it there!
The previous owner was piecing together a convertible sedan? Doors and hood/fenders from different cars?
Hard to say!
Guess it is not called a cabriolet or perhaps a phaeton.
the ford rollback?? did you by it?
You should have picked up the anvil by the door .worth 250 to 300 they are getting hard to find a good one.
Wud that car be a Argentina model or good old USA model
USA model
That's a phaeton!
It’s called a Convertible Sedan by Ford in these years.
JFC, has this dim bulb ever used that excavator before!?!? This was hard to watch
OMG 😂😂

It’s a shame you’re not my type because you’re spitting some good game. 😘😘
