It's a very interesting theory. I often wondered about this myself, but going off of people I know I've found very little correlation. I was born in the Winter, and can very much agree with the out of the box thinking. As for irritability it depends on a lot of things. Probably the most interesting thing for me is if I do get SAD, it's the transition from Winter to Spring. Winter is my favorite season, so to see it turn from a beautiful landscape, to months of mud, bugs, allergies, and rain gets me down every time. I also get depressed in the winter months whenever I see grass. Yet I talk to other Winter babies, and I've only met one other that shares my love for Winter.
I completely agree, this gets me down too, and I was born at the end of Summer (just before its transitioning into Autumn). I love Autumn and Winter the most, Spring and Summer just get me depressed, they're uncomfortable seasons.
Yeah I was born in January, so winter, and I hate winter! I hate cold because it is extremely painful! And snow is one of the worst things in existence in my opinion.
My personal theory is that the environment and nurture has a huge effect on personality. And therefore, season and/or month personality traits are caused by if the parents (or guardians) are affected by the seasons and how much they are affected.
My best guess for influence that seasonal changes might have depend on these factors: 1. Latitude you are born in on what time of year. Being born on the equator in the middle of winter is very different than being born in Alaska in winter. 2. Photoperiodic changes. Goes along with the 'Latitude' comment. Changes in natural levels of Vitamin D, serotonin, etc. which comes from direct sunlight exposure may have some influences. 3. Temperature in the seasons. Best guess would be that some hormones and proteins are secreted more in different seasons. Perhaps some of these go over to the fetus and can influence personality??? Maybe in a similar way to how nutrition can affect metabolism of the child as a fetus??
I agree. And as I also answered, resource availability, depending upon the season and where in the world you were born plays a significant role in infant development/mortality and the general health of the pregnant/nursing woman. In the same way some animals only have young during certain times of year, for most of human history the availability of resources greatly determined whether or not your infant survived, and that in turn would affect brain development and thereby personality.
I think the small correlation in our personality depending on the seasons we're born are based on the stages of development and when they take place. people act and behave differently during certain weather changes. you are going to have core memories in different parts of your most memorable (earliest) developmental stages depending on the seasons you're born. For example holidays, big storms, etc. are going to be different forming the mind of a 10 month old vs a 14 month old. We just grow so fast in those earlier stages
I was born in May and seeing depression, silverlinings AND optamism fits me really well. I always try to be positive about things for others but i also understand the reality of every situation, and im pretty numb and sleepy the mayority of the time but i know to appreciate the world and opportunities i've been given. This helps alot with me trying to understand myself better and i hope it helps you too^^
Being someone born in August, I can see some truth with susceptibility to mood swings. While not often, I do have moments where my mood flips on a dime, usually from great happiness to sadness.
I think where we're born in relation to the school year can make a big difference! I was born in May (optimistic yet depressed checks out lol), I was one of the younger ones amongst my year group and I think that helped shape me into someone who's more quiet and observant on the whole
Spring break was always the week before my birthday on March 30th, and prom was held the week of my birthday. But also I was one of the oldest in my class (despite being one of the shortest :P)
Dont spring babies fall into the older ones at school? If we were to classify it as oldest and younger itd be jan- june And then from july to december and i say this as a person born on new years, whose whole friend group growing up was summer-autmn babies. But i yeah idk if it works from jan in all countries i guss
@@NiallJ So youre divided by school years? Im saying this because it usually goes as the lunar years like 2007, 2008 etc. Im born on new years so im the oldest every year because im at the start of the year, like that. I really dont know about the uk though, im in europe
Your birth month can also affect whether you're slightly bigger or smaller than the other kids in your kindergarten class, which can give you a self-image of being more or less athletic or more or less mature. This can have lasting effects through life. I also wonder if having a birthday on or close to a holiday might affect your personality.
June guy here. Summer. I'm going to keep this short... this one video sounds a lot more like a horoscope to me. Something that's written to sound like it fits you no matter who you are. There are bits of every season that sound like they fit me, and like they totally don't fit me. What I notice the most is that, because I'm born in the Summer, while watching the video I paid more attention to the traits that are mentioned to correlate more to Summer people. I also pay less attention to the misses because the bits that did hit sort of overshadowed it, until I paid closer attention to what else was being said a second time. I like theories of psychology, but I'm not so sure about this one. It sounds like a lot of placebo effect.
April baby! I'm normally an optimistic person when it comes to other people's lives, but I don't have a lot of self confidence so I have a heard time being optimistic about my own life. :c
I was born on a very warm late day of May and I do feel sad very often und do have regular mood swings, but I also see the silver lining in most cases. Makes me kind of a sad and emotional optimist. So this does fit very well. I also have recognised a pattern referring to weather sensitivity. So people born in Winter ususally do not care for cold days and rooms so much, as I am freezing very constantly, when it gets below 10 degrees celsius, while I do not care much when it gets over 30 degrees celsius.
November baby here, and I have all three of those traits! Irritability, no bipolar, and very little depression… in fact, the few times I have had depression in my life so far, it's gone away without professional or medical intervention, and didn't last long I'm very observant, very smart, optimistic and able to see the silver lining in many things, and I'm also an empath.
hey me too! except for the "observant" and "smart" parts :'D I try to be optimistic but I can never seem to get my hopes up too high, tho this probably lowers my sadness since I never have high expectations in the first place XD
I was born in March but I'm extremely irritable sometimes; creative and inspiring to others, sometimes bipolar and can snap on a dime, I have depression constantly... Generally speaking I don't think it's time born alone that affects who we are; I also think it's how we grow up. People who grow up having it hard; and lived in rough conditions or under strict and harsh parents can be a factor. Seasons alone I don't think contribute wholly to the point
Mood swings (I think it depends on music tho because when I am happy as shit the moment I listen to a sad song I think of all the failures and sad things that has been in my life)but if I listen to happy music feel free to turn up the same moment
My birthday is in June and then Christmas in December, I only ever got a new toy on those occasions, so I feel like it made me grow up with a happy occasion every 6 months and affected my mood, I feel like people who have birthdays closer to Christmas then have to wait a whole year might fair differently if they had a similar childhood
Birth month also determines when you start school and clubs. A lot of NHL players were born in January because that was the cutoff for when younger leagues let you play so the Jan babies were the oldest, in really young leagues this can make you more coordinated than the younger kids. I am a summer baby and was one of the youngest in my classes because of where school cutoffs were. I would think these things affect you more than just your birth month since it places you with slightly older/younger kids depending on birth month
Apparently my mother ate copious quantities of toffee apples while pregnant with me, and they were the closest thing to a “weird” craving for the whole duration. As for birth month, I was due in mid-November, yet my actual date of birth is ten days earlier. The weirdest thing? My brother and I had the _exact_ same due date, meaning we were almost certainly conceived on the same day in our respective birth years (14th February being the most likely). As a _Star Wars_ fan from way back, I’m just glad my half-birthday is on May the Fourth. 😁
Due dates are usually a thumb suck on the doctor's part. Especially as woman can ovulate twice in a cycle. My sons was 10 March..but only born 2nd April.
I was born in mid-November, but if you count 42 weeks back it's actually late January, not mid February. I know, I was convinced that I was a St. Valentine's celebration and it was kinda dissapointing.
My birthday is December 23 two days after winter solstice. I do have depression issues and think outside of the box. But this video applies the season to the month that would only work in certain parts of the world.
What a pity that despite the initial question Psych2Go never mentions that about half of the differences in individual human behavior can be explained by the genes that we inherit which is much, much greater than any seasonal influence. Why not make a video about how strong the influence of our genes actually is on our behavior?
The month you're born determines when you start school. Your self image could be very different if you are significantly older or younger than your peers.

My birthday is four days before Christmas, so for me the whole Advent/Christmas season has always truly been the most wonderful time of the year. Being a winter baby in a state that gets snow has made me love winter despite how gloomy it can get at times. Plus, I think being a solstice baby is one of the reasons I’m an astronomy nerd.
and me living and born in TROPICAL country 😂 im actually more inclined to use temperament type as a tool to understand my personality. bcs as in Epigenetics said, we're both nature vs nurture. It's combination of our DNA and how we were raised. I'm choleric melancholic.
I am just going to say I have three friends including me who are born in November and we are really sensitive. If someone says your outfits bad to us. We will really start breaking down and crying. We are super sensitive.
Interesting how the seasonal transitions equinox months weren't referenced. My maternal grandma was born March 3 (technically winter) and my mom March 25 (technically spring) while I was born September 17 (technically summer) and my paternal grandma September 24 (technically fall). I guess we're complicated lol
Born in March, I find myself optimist, self aware, blunt, hot headed, impulsive, impatient, stubborn, wise, intelligent, confident, creative but also deal with depression & anxiety. 🤷♀️
Yayyy i am a May Boy... And it's kindoff correct about my personality.. I like to spend alone time.. But i also give myself motivation from time to time.. As i enjoy my own company ❤️
I'm gonna assume in the Southern Hemisphere the seasonal stuff still applies but we just swap the months around, right? Do you think there's much difference in how "winter" people develop if their country is generally hot with a very "mild" winter so they don't really experience SAD?
I always wondered about that. I have a small theorie or an idea. Maybe the first few months after we are born have a more significant effect on our personality than we think. For a baby born in e. t. summer the first few months are warm and the people around him tend to be more open and joyful. Even thou the baby doesnt conciously thinks about that, but the basic feel of the situation is different. Maybe these first few month set a emotional baseline for further charakter development. Similar to the eye that needs "feedback" from the world to "calibrate" itself.
Your personality is created by how your mind developes and takes in information. Majority of the time, your interests is what makes the largest impact on your personality. For an example, me. I lived with my dad (who is very spiritualy conected and strongly believes in Karma) He had a big interest in zodiac signs and astronomy. Which in turn, rubbed off on me. I looked into my zodiac (Scorpio) at a very young age. Due to this, I unconciously built my personality like my zodiacs description. So to sum it up, the MONTH itself has little effect on your personality. The expiriences and information you take in at a young age has a MASSIVE effect on personality.
I think its affects our personality because of the feelings our parents have over those months like winter depression or spring cleaning seen as a silver lining to some people I know to combat the depression and loneliness of winter.
January and February are like : true out of the box thinking and they are actually creative i have seen soo many people and celebs and singers who were born mostly in Jan and feb month I am blessed i am under January 31

This is irrelevant in Tropical climates. Hopefully, there will also be a study about mothers within wet and dry seasons in Tropical regions, and how it affects their babies' personalities. Will there be a difference compared to babies born in temperate climates?
Technically, the birth month counts as a touch of environment, as it sets the weather and such around the time you celebrate your birthday, which can affect the kinds of activities you can do.
The May thing is frustratingly accurate. And seeing the silver lining isn't always a good thing. Some of the ones I've seen are pretty morbid, to the point that I wish I didn't think like this.
I am born in January and luckily have none of the negative stuff. I am very creative & problem solving is not hard for me either...tho but that might just be a coincidence lol
It helps you count 9 months backwards to see which holiday your parents did the good old "in out in out". Makes it easier to guess if they were drunk during the act.
as someone who was born in Fall (late November), i see a lot of other people born in other seasons being more high-strung and anxious whereas other fall babies seem to be more chill. I'm not sure if that's just them or there is some link to that.

im actually more inclined to use temperament type as a tool to understand my personality. bcs as in Epigenetics said, we're both nature vs nurture. It's combination of our DNA and how we were raised. I'm choleric melancholic.
I'm born January and I'm not really depressed but more sad most of the time and I'm out of the box and creative too. So this is some what true for me
I am just going to say I have three friends including me who are born in November and we are really sensitive. If someone says your outfits bad to us. We will really start breaking down and crying. We are super sensitive.
Yes, Aquarius and Pisces are very creative signs.
I was born in January and this is just so true about me
These video are amazing thank you psych2go for making these videos ❤
Season for jan ?
@@balaswarupinip8230 Winter
Here's an hug for you!
Finally! Someone who understands what we go through in life when born in January!
I was born in Autumn and all the things that you described about them describe me the LEAST. 😅
1:30 disorderly
3:18 out of thr box and creativity
I always wondered about that. I have a small theorie or an idea. Maybe the first few months after we are born have a more significant effect on our personality than we think. For a baby born in e. t. summer the first few months are warm and the people around him tend to be more open and joyful. Even thou the baby doesnt conciously thinks about that, but the basic feel of the situation is different. Maybe these first few month set a emotional baseline for further charakter development. Similar to the eye that needs "feedback" from the world to "calibrate" itself.
Yeah the person who did this research probably wouldn’t have expected me if we actually met.
Extra points for including LUFFY from One Piece! And yes, he is a May baby according to the author Oda Eiichirou!
Spring baby here and I agree about the general optimism. However, when it comes to me personally, I tend to be very pessimistic.
That crying Luffy from the Usopp fight got my in the feels.
Yeahh- even levi and zoro- and those love is war! characters lmao
Beautiful soft spoken voice...very calming praise the Lord!!
January and February are like : true out of the box thinking and they are actually creative i have seen soo many people and celebs and singers who were born mostly in Jan and feb month I am blessed i am under January 31
I happen to be born on February 3rd and I draw a lot. Sometimes even I don't know what the heck I drew, but I drew something I'd never seen before.
@@Raggy_df Ohh my god u also like drawing woww me too u r right we don't even know what we do at the end it gets soo perfect in everything . I tried to make sculpting with clay I made lord ganesh with clay and at the end it was soo good
@@priyalsinha8939 I usually draw during my math class and end up blocking out everything the teacher says. Idk if this is relatable to anyone who draws, but I always end up making something really cool at school, but when I actually try to make something nice at home, it doesn't come out like I want it to.
@@Raggy_df 🥲🥲this is what exactly happened we me also when we take time to make something it becomes weird and when we make in less time it creates like woww
@@priyalsinha8939 Finally someone I can relate to! 😃
I always love to watch your videos cuz the animation is SO CUTE ❤🥰
BIG LOVE for the animators!! ❤❤❤🎉
This is irrelevant in Tropical climates.
Hopefully, there will also be a study about mothers within wet and dry seasons in Tropical regions, and how it affects their babies' personalities. Will there be a difference compared to babies born in temperate climates?
omg this is so scarily accurate i get mood swings all the time
Technically, the birth month counts as a touch of environment, as it sets the weather and such around the time you celebrate your birthday, which can affect the kinds of activities you can do.
if birthday parties weren't a thing tho, just in general
Probably how the people act around them? Just a guess but, it probably has a connection with how people act on these specific months and days
Your voice 💖, content is also good 🙌
I was born literally on the bridge between spring and summer
April baby and I love being positive ❤
The May thing is frustratingly accurate. And seeing the silver lining isn't always a good thing. Some of the ones I've seen are pretty morbid, to the point that I wish I didn't think like this.
I was born in the month it currently is March and I am very sensitive and connected with my emotions (being an introvert dose that)
I like warmer days of the year but that’s because I have seasonal affective disorder and I get a little depressed during the shorter colder days
Borned on the 1st of September so I guess they had a good Christmas or New year night
Yk they say parents of people who were born in November celebrated that valentine pretty grandly
I was born in August, which means my dad failed NNN lmao
Born on April 6th. Which means some time in July. Istg, if they did the nasty on fourth of July.
as someone who was born in Fall (late November), i see a lot of other people born in other seasons being more high-strung and anxious whereas other fall babies seem to be more chill. I'm not sure if that's just them or there is some link to that.
I was born in August; diagnosed with BiPolar 1 & 2 in 2008. Also diagnosed with BPD in 2016. However, I can be very extravagant 🤣🤣
Interesting that my month was spot on! I was expecting some astrology gobbledygook, but the science is cool.
I'm born in april, and i just realised I am quite warmer then other so im a person for you to hug hehe (one of my puppies either lay on my lap or belly like im the mother awww❤❤❤)
1:35 Now not only zoro lost but also luffy😅😂
Being born in april makes me something of an inspiration, for my fiction scenes, adventures and etc....
I love my life
Woah! What an interesting topic! I was waiting for sucha a thing to be discussed for a long time now! Good for you psych2go. Wish to hear more about all said here. And I think that the time of the year, astrology and genes all together have an influence of us all. But as you mentioned the environment where we grow has an impact too.
The smartest comment on here!
@@rimmalikover9724 Thank you! :D
Astrology? Come on now
This is a cool and informative video, but holy smokes her voice is so soothing 😭
Edit: also I was born in late June :)
