Hello everyone! Here's the link to the 70-part step-by-step series: ruclips.net/video/V55WifVguKk/видео.html Thanks for watching, liking and subscribing! I appreciate it:)
Nathan, I like this so much more than the typical, short, time lapse summaries of this kind of series. Having watched each of the 70 series episodes, I still find this fun to watch. Thanks for everything you do.
It was really fun to watch this Nathan. I've got 16,000 of playtime according to Steam. My biggest map runs 24 hours a day and still produces & consumes only 4ksp/m. It can go a week at a time without maintenance, but its a hige job bringing enough resources online when something starts to run low. I run vanilla, no mods. I'm nowhere near as good a designer as you but its fascinating how you can get there in different ways. I did mine primarily with trains and separated botzones. There are 1200 trains, 5000 stations and millions of bots. Even with a Factorio max optimized PC I can only get 10 or 11 FPS.... There is just too much stuff, and I like Nuclear rather than Solar as I like the complexity (and consuming all the resources on the map, haha). Train congestion is no longer an issue as I have distributed production of different products and resources all around the map. I didn't do a grid system, so my map looks very organic in comparison, and I mostly go around the lakes rather than fill them. When the TL feature came out awhile ago it took me months to change from disabling stations to TL instead. I don't use spiders to build expansions, but robots. I lay down a construction station. Then the train comes in with the parts and builds a receiver for all the parts and finished products to come in automatically. Additional robots keep getting brought online anytime there are less than 100 idle in the zone. Everything gets built automatically, (mostly) and then the trains start coming automatically. My world is enormous and hard to play... I need to ride trains and spiders everywhere with that low FPS, and work mostly in map mode. Ill lay down a few BPs in the morning to expand and rhen leave it. Mine is so inefficient compared to yours and my reciever stations are filled with vast quantities of goods gathering dust... But its fully automated and Ive been amazed at what ive been able to accomplish with the free time im blessed with and much more limited programming and design skills compared to you and some of the other guys out there. Sure love this game... I play it more than I work. And sleep... Haha... All the best
Factorio is coded for full belts if you don't have full belts it tanks your fps very basically every slot on the belt empty is like 0.01% less performance so blue belts will fuck up your fps
i love factorio because of how unique it is; so many things to optimize, to build, plan, and the satisfaction you get as you progress keeps you hooked.
I actually watched all 69 episodes of this series. I usually fizzle out on these things after 20 or so but something about this series held me. Thank you Nathan and I look forward to what’s to come.
I love how one of the mega modules just blends into the sea of solar xD Also... genuinely, this base reminds me of die shots from CPUs. The cores are actually TINY in comparison to the cache. The solar is a kind of cache, for power, and the mega modules are your cores :P Anyway, this is amazing! thanks for editing this together :D
Hey Nathan i have now round about 80hours in factorio and i wanted to ask you if you could make a list With the mods you used to make your life easyier in factorio Would really aprecaite It keep up going😊❤❤
was a great series, and well worth losing sleep over for "just one more episode" :P Any chance of a world download to take a closer look? I just finished my 2nd rocket launch, id be interested in going mega base :)
Do you think that incorporating most things into a single "mega blueprint" helped with your congestion? 5k SPM is very impressive on your train system and I assume that's down to your "mega blueprint". Did you have many issues with congestion?
My read of it. Smelting takes load of space. Always do it in the mines. That saves loads of space. And. Well. Stack size is larger. If you have 10 waggons of ore. That is 5 wagons of steal, iron, bricka, 1 wagon of steal or wall or 1.4 wagons of green
Really enjoy your content. First series I watched was the Fortress Craft Evolved one. Still sad that this game is not continued. But I would like to see your take on Overhaul Mods for factorio, Space Exploration or Krastorio 2 for example. 😊
Great video! Love the pace and depth. Small suggestion: the sibilance of your voice recording is a lil painful. A de-esser and/or EQ would go long way in improving the listening experience 💪
I love this game. I love the way people just think about problems differently and there are a bunch of different solutions. Personally I would not try to use solar panels for a megabase. They take up too much space.
I really like this mega base runs, but I have no idea how any of that works in detail. Like, I assume you need a ton of clogs, plates and electronics (the green stuff) to paste only one of those modules, but were do you keep the stock for that and how many of each do you produce and store somewhere just to build more stuff?
there is a little indie game called mindustry that you should try some time, I've personally had a good experience with it with its RTS + factory builder + tower defense style of game-play and.
Great work Nathan, such an interesting series! Any chance of a world download from the end of series? The last one i could find was pretty old. Thanks :)
wow. i just finished the tutorial and came across this video. If you don't mind me asking, what are your pc specs and how many total hours do you have in factorio?
Hi Nathan, I started to watch and it is interesting. Could you please tell me/us what QoL mods you used in the progress? Edit: I found the Modlist in the Playlist.
Yo Nathan! Wouldn't it be more efficient to smelt the ores at the outpost and then load the trains from there? That way the wont have to be transported by train. I'm not exactly an expert so I might be wrong, but just a thought!:)
ik im only 6 mins in, but this peeves me so much, unless u are using some alternate recipies, its 2 green circut asemblers to 3 wire asemblers for max efficency, not 1 and 2
@@Nathans-Sandbox so your telling me I can scale twice as fast because I can just use my train presets and make blueprints with the same station name und just spam trains and I don't even have to set up every single one? This game is true automation and the perfect balance of lazyness and hard work
how does this man build stuff out in the middle of nowhere without walls, or even any alerts!? Is he playing on the Train mode? Where biters don't expand into your polution cloud?

factorio is the game with unlimited space where you always run out of space
👍

how much adderall do you take?
This was a poetic read, i bet ur base looks beautiful

Thanks so much for watching the whole thing!;)
Thank you for making this. 250h in 1h is not an easy job, but you've done it well !
My pleasure!;)
I was watching this like "Oh hey this guy watched the same Mega Base tutorial series I did". Then I realized that he didn't watch it, he MADE it.
I love how one of the mega modules just blends into the sea of solar xD

What an incredible journey from start to finish, thank you Nathan, epic stuff 👏
Launching your rocket without productivity modules should be a crime.
😉
This gives me some to aim for, but I think my ADD has too much of a grip for my Megabase of Chaos

Ngl at 6:00 my eyes were burning from the heressy that you used two assemblers for cables and then 1 for the circuits :D
was a great series, and well worth losing sleep over for "just one more episode" :P

Great summary video of a megabase series, enjoyed watching it!
Glad to hear it!

Then your smelters get less effective as the ore runs out
Id love you forever if you did another one of these series
I liked the part where the biters and threat were used in the same sentence
Timestamp?
Amazing! Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
My pleasure!;)
what a god! cant wait to see what youll do in the epansion!
If i'd put as much effort into schoolwork, as i do into Factorio, i would be a top student
The factory must grow.
Tremendous jpb Nathan, thanks for putting this together!
Great series really enjoyed would of liked to see it completed 👍
It is completed;)
It's a shame he never finished it. Seems so wasteful, ya know?
I met you on a community server when you were still redstone nightmare damn dude its been a while and its awesome you still make videos ❤
Really enjoy your content. First series I watched was the Fortress Craft Evolved one. Still sad that this game is not continued. But I would like to see your take on Overhaul Mods for factorio, Space Exploration or Krastorio 2 for example. 😊
Thank you, Nathan, the series was fantastic
Watched it all. You made the best factorio series on the whole RUclips
Thanks so much for watching;)
Great video! Love the pace and depth. Small suggestion: the sibilance of your voice recording is a lil painful. A de-esser and/or EQ would go long way in improving the listening experience 💪
Any chance of getting some blueprints for your base?
imagine you doing your next playthrough being a mega base for the space exploration mod, that would be so cool but ik it would be hard
would love to see another video but with a modpack, maybe pynadon or space exploration, really good video, waiting for more xD
I love this game. I love the way people just think about problems differently and there are a bunch of different solutions. Personally I would not try to use solar panels for a megabase. They take up too much space.
i have trouble making red mags in a neat order, this guy is just taking over the planet no problem lol
I think it would be awesome to watch you play Krastorio mod on this…I NEED MORE CONTENT
Amazing series. Thank you for this.
Wow great job. I'm soon about to get back into factorio after 3 years of my pc being I the loft 😢 the factory will grow, even though I've got a baby!!
Thanks for your dedication!

Like, I assume you need a ton of clogs, plates and electronics (the green stuff) to paste only one of those modules, but were do you keep the stock for that and how many of each do you produce and store somewhere just to build more stuff?
Holy shit, this is more science per minute than my base makes iron plates per minute

Great work Nathan, such an interesting series! Any chance of a world download from the end of series? The last one i could find was pretty old. Thanks :)
Me realizing this series is finished: Don't Cry Because It's Over; Smile Because It Happened
You basically built mobo with PSU.
Nice work!
Any chance to get a blueprint book of the megabase/outposts?
Please explain your 4 lane design intersections... please =)
Awesome video man! Keep it up!
I like your spaghetti. Nice colorfull designs.
12am and a 50mins vid? Time to have a goodnight sleep
Good night;)
wow. i just finished the tutorial and came across this video. If you don't mind me asking, what are your pc specs and how many total hours do you have in factorio?
Insane. Good Job.

👍
Challenge: Take 1 shot everytime he says set up
you a genious! LOVEEEEE ITTT!
8:58 you can continue to move the mouse forward to make the balancers red automatically
i was keeping up until the moment you built first signal light on rails xD
Yo Nathan! Wouldn't it be more efficient to smelt the ores at the outpost and then load the trains from there? That way the wont have to be transported by train. I'm not exactly an expert so I might be wrong, but just a thought!:)
Yes, double as efficient, but it would also be annoying to build the smelter with every outpost.;)
@@Nathans-Sandbox Ahh yeah that makes sense! I just have the smelter blueprinted together with the train station so I don't have to think about it😎
ik im only 6 mins in, but this peeves me so much, unless u are using some alternate recipies, its 2 green circut asemblers to 3 wire asemblers for max efficency, not 1 and 2
✨I kept ob building✨
im on episode 6 right now, one day i will catch up to this point 🤣
why didnt you make the main bus? is it because it lags the base or because using logistic robots is just easier?
it looks like i microchip, great stuff
Awesome job!
What is the name of the mod at 8:37, I searched outpost planner, I could not see it, great video btw.
I tip my hat to you, one Nathan to another 🎩
😉
Hi.
Have you seen Ratopia it game kinda no oxygen including.
Do you plan to play it?
Nice, 1 day ill finally make my own megabase
Good luck!
Can i know the spec of your pc for this megabase you build?
I would like to know that too, because my factory is always limited by my computer and I dont get pass 1200spm
Are you using a train manager of any kind?
Im wondering, does multiple stops with the same name so that the trains pick one work in vanilla?
They tend to pick the closest with the lowest number of trains. No train manager involved.
@@Nathans-Sandbox so your telling me I can scale twice as fast because I can just use my train presets and make blueprints with the same station name und just spam trains and I don't even have to set up every single one?

how does this man build stuff out in the middle of nowhere without walls, or even any alerts!?
Is he playing on the Train mode? Where biters don't expand into your polution cloud?
This is on standard settings and a summary of a long series, in the series I explain it all.
@@Nathans-Sandbox Thank you for your response! I've never had a response from a RUclipsr before! ☺
When I see 1K or 5K science per minute I've always wondered - Which schience? Red? Blue? Purple? White? Which one is it?
All of them. A 1k SPM base means you're making 1k per pack;)
at 250 hours in 1 save I accomplished launching the rocket.
Holy cow, shit is amazing
Hey man, I was wondering if you could write the MES?
Amazing.
👍
What is the mod called you use to optimise ore patches with miners?
Outpost planner.
and just like that i watched the whole video
i'd still be automating red science at 0.1sph (science per hour)
Ludicrous!
Which mod shows the amount of resources on the map?
Nathan, do you have the base save file available anywhere?
Yes, there are multiple saves across the series in the descriptions.
I regularly spend this long on a world just to end up never going past blue science because i fucking HATE fluids.
My framerate stutters long before I can get to this stage unfortunately.
pls explain the logic setting at 38:23 _ thanks in advance!
Fantastic video I really like your channel. I have a Factorio Channel too
31:53 Is this some kind of mod? Will it work in vanilla?
It's not a mod. They are seperate belts due to the color, so you can weave different color underground belts in line with one another.
Someone can give me the mode that he used for this megabase like the auto plan for mining ? TYYY
Fantastic video I really like your channel. I have a Channel Also, one day I want to have a channel the size of yours.
Would you kindly share a save file?
I have factorio but don't play it just because of the fact that the resource nodes run out so you have to get more and all that
Why don't you set them near infinite in the settings if that is the only reason?
@@Nathans-Sandbox I didn't know that was an option, I'll go check that out
blueprints?
It took bro like an hour to do what’s taken me 3 days
Modlist anywhere?
It's in the first two minutes of the first episode if you're really curious.
@@Nathans-Sandbox Thanks for the quick reply!
I like the series alot, I actually started watching the episodes seperately. Keep up the good work!
Where are the blueprints
nice, your's factory looks like a chip of computer
250h? sweet.
Как ставиш буры?
nahhh i have about 450 hours in factorio and i still didn't finish factorio -_-
I hadn't finished it either when I had 450 hours. I enjoy doing the starter bases a lot:)
Now do a Py run
27:38 For chicks and giggles? Lulz.
