Hapa ni tricky. I drove a 2WD belta to Kisumu and a 4WD Belta same route a week later. Let me tell you Erick with a CK, i used 2k more fuel to get me Kisumu with the 4WD.
You need to use the same car to do a comparison boss, so many factors you left unconsidered for instance number one, the state and condition of the spark plugs in each Belta. Number two, weather conditions (wind direction and rainfall) you cant conduct two tests weeks apart and consider it a benchmark. Number three, oil viscosity..what if the two Beltas had different oils with different viscosity ratings. I doubt if my 2500cc V6 Crown Athlete will consume 2000 shillings more in fuel compared to what a Belta would consume from Nairobi - Kisumu
I had an Axio 4WD I tell you hio gari inajivuta sana hasa kwa mlima. Na ukweli ilikua inakunywa same as an 1.8 L premio from Ruiru to Nyeri yet hio ni 1.5L. It is the vehicle I hated most and also the vehicle I have stayed with least! just three months and sold.
Well yes 4wd consumes just a bit plus is heavy , Advantages is quite fast and handling is 👍👍 than 2 wd but for matatu business never buy a 4wd it's expensive to run smaller car might be better ,4wd is better in snow ❄ Areas and muddy roads quite handy
Correct me if am wrong, e4WD was/is a Hitachi tech licensed to Nissan and Mazda. Had a Demio DE3AW but that car was good in mud/slippery conditions ground clearance allowing and of course with good tyres. Good work man!!
great presentation. May point out that AWD mostly in Subaru is not necessarily all wheel drive in principle, the acronym AWD, in fact means asymmetrical wheel drive from which torque vectoring is built upon. An AWD ECU,sensors on each individual wheel will, calculate traction, reducing skidding or getting bogged down. 4WD and AWD may appear similar but function differently
That was a great carfactation.i.have a question though when driving a selectable 4wd sedan is advisable you stop completely to select 4wd or you can select as the car is in motion?
Ongelea mabo za gari mzee kama premio 2000-2002 models is it wise kubuy gari mzee na for how long can they serve you, can they go for long trips, maintenance etc
Hi Erick! Can I improve fuel consumption of a 4wd 2003 Toyota Allion by disconnecting the propeller shaft that connects to the rear wheels or is it all about the weight of the car? Please demystify this. Thanks.
Yes you can do that. But doing that conversation will be quite expensive. High consumption is not just about weight but also the additional friction losses that are as a result of additional moving parts and so the engine has to work harder.
Kwa disadvantages umesahau kusema 4wheel iko na "more parts to break."🙂 Otherwise, a great discussion it is.
Where's the old intro music?.., I used to nod along whenever it played
Uneven tire wear shouldn't be to much of a problem with tire rotation once in a while.

Correct. These people do not want to agree that awd consumes more than 2wd and is also slower than 2wd
Next time tuleta btwen front wheel drive vs back wheel drive
You the best was chatting with a sales person in Japan nitajichocha sana asante

Awd will never be faster than a 2wd. Never, so long as engine size is the same

Awd will accelerate better only from a standstil and from slippery grounds. Normal weather and from a rolling race, 2wd will be quicker
Sorry am late carnvarsation is like a school about cars
Keep it up
Looking forward for a AWD vs 4WD off road edition for sedan, wagon and midsize suv, that would be a great wrap for this talk .

Sm.
E4wd is the same idea harrier hybrid wanatumia (e-four) kama wasee wanoananga. Motor iko mbele na engine inatumika kwa rear wheels
Very educative.. Much love from your former classmate pale Technology.

AWD has always meant All Wheel Drive! Subaru uses SAWD or Symetrical All Wheel Drive. Thank you.
@Rodney Agesa correct
Good job i have learnt something

Well explained. I always learn something.
Very well taught, thanks.
