New subscriber here i also wanted to comment on this video for starters you guys went through the Winterset Iowa EF-4 DEADLY TORNADO..For the future if your outside camping those sirens are put off for a very good reason take shelter if this happens again ..during making your dinner that loud rushing waterfall sound was the actual TORNADO you are very lucky both of you that same TORNADO killed 4 people in Winterset iowa..im a skywarn spotter for NWS thats what brought me to your video and channel have fun good job recording and I like your content just next time if this happens again like that please find a sturdy structure to get into that was a rain wrapped TORNADO so impossible to see coming you was saying it came outta nowhere nooo that's what the warning was for but you guys could have been hurt or worse..not judging just trying to help is all!!!

AlabamaRed took the words out of my mouth, but yeah, please don't risk your lives and find shelter immediately if a local warning or siren is issued. It only takes once to get dead. I was witness to the 1990 Plainfield, IL F-5 tornado that leveled our town(s) and killed 29 people so know first hand what an ultra gnarly one can do. You have no way to know how bad it will be until it actually happens. Assume the worst right away, don't panic, and take immediate action to shelter like your life imminently depends on it.
I know the sound of a 'train' is one sound I was familiar but that sound like a waterfall I wasn't! I thank you sir for this information because I travel like these guys do! And Tyler I know you are used to the sirens - but even my arse would have taken heed! I know this is 2 yrs ago but I learned something from this video!!!
I've been camping when a tornado warning goes off here in MN. We went to the bathrooms building since that's a decent structure. Things got crazy fast. Sheets of rain, hail, Trees ontop of campers. We went home after that lol.
It sounds like it I could only imagine what it looked or felt like geez I'm also sad that I have to work when you're going to do the video I'll be lurking in the background

Uh excuse you I'm from tornado alley in the Midwest and I DO run from tornados and I DO get scared, the small town I lived in was wiped away by one back in 2015, everyone lost everything

You guys aren’t the brightest crayons in the box are you? When you get alerts on your phone and there are sirens going off, that is NOT the time to start setting up camp and cooking dinner. That is the time to leave! I don’t know how you could say that storm came out of nowhere you had plenty of warning. As soon as I saw you start cooking I knew you wouldn’t get to finish it. Thank your lucky stars you made it out okay and hopefully that was a learning experience for you.
Exactly. He said they were going to show the tornado who's boss. You absolutely do not ever show a tornado who's boss. They will teach you that real quick if you aren't careful. I saw the aftereffects of a fatal tornado a couple of years ago. It tossed tractors & trucks around like they were hot wheels cars. These guys were lucky they didn't become Darwin award winners.
Dude you're an Iowa boy that makes two of us if you are shoot I started truck camping roughly a year year and a half ago still in the works though I came down to Beaver Oklahoma to do some camping if you travel I recommend huckberry Bend campgrounds they're decent depending on the year they're either $25 to $30 for RV spots that's with electric hookup and what have you for primitive or or tent camping $15 camping
If a Siren goes off well before the storm especially before the clouds get there, That usually means the tornado is already on the ground and heading Y'alls way. Which usually means it's big enough to worry about. If you're able, Watch Ryan Hall, Y'all, He will let you know where it's at.

I’m in west Des Moines iowa and I was super scarred when the sirens went off but I was unaware of the “ef4” that ripped down the town of winterset
