Old Man's Cave right after an ice storm is ethereal and amazing. So glad you got to experience Hocking Hills. Some of the best of Ohio.
I've been studying "mudfossils" for the past two years now, and rocks and mountains just leave me breathless sometimes. I refuse to be embarrassed, but can't help but be breathless while staring at absolute giants of practically anything and everything. Just the size can take your breath away but the energy...especially around water. Magical.

I've lived in Ohio most of my life and the state parks are amazing. You can spend a week in Hocking Hills and still not see everything. Love your videos and love the adventures you and Camper take.

Hi Nikki - I used to live in Traverse City , MI & it's right by Sleeping Bear National Park which I guarantee you & Camper will love. Traverse City is awesome & very dog friendly. That said I loved the park in Ohio & glad the 🌪 was only moderate. Look forward to checking out Hocking Hill one day ! Thanks 😃

Good for you living the dream on the road getting to see all these cool places. Me and my wife are selling off all our stuff including our house and buying a motorhome and hitting the road for a year or so or until we find a forever spot. We have 3 cats and 1 dog. We had planned on doing this in the spring but then as you know gas prices went through the roof so we are delaying it for a bit. great video's!!!
How are YOU handling the downsizing? We are doing 3 yard sales, donating to a charity auction, and making a dump run! It's tough; lots of memories after 21 yrs together.

So excited to see you at Hocking Hills! I live only a couple hours away so I've gone a few times and it really is one of the best places in Ohio! Super scary about that tornado though, Ohio didn't give you much of a warm welcome this time around!

Hocking Hills is Ohio’s best kept secret ! Beautiful place…will you be coming back to Ohio anytime soon ? In northeastern part we have “Mill Creek Park” in Youngstown, Ohio literally within the city limits. Beautiful trails , falls, glacier lake , the Rose Garden……. You would love it ! Camper would too !

Great action plan and demonstrating what to do in the event of severe weather. As someone who has chased storms for close to a quarter of a century, I applaud you for actually taking shelter as many people wouldn't (see guy jogging 😉).

13:57 when they mold(?) the stone steps out of the natural landscape, it looks so cool. Sometimes it looks just like it was wood once, or even wet clay already right there in the ground before it gets petrified. These are such massive rocks and caves/crevices, and while sometimes the steps and part of the hike seem built too large for just us, there are always those special ones that fit in perfect places only for us 💗

I live a half and hour from old man's cave (hocking hills state park). We had a few touchdowns that day, a couple of them near where we live. When they got the warning for the large and dangerous tornado on the ground all I could think was gosh I hope everyone was alright and that most people had left before then. I'm glad to see you and everyone else were alright!

I fly for a children's hospital as a medivac helicopter pilot,we are based in Michigan,my flight nurses turned me on to your channel, I absolutely love your bond with your dog,my wife and I are gaga over our beagle Mio,stay safe out there. Oh my point about mentioning the fact I'm a pilot for a children's hospital is we had a tornado about 2 months back maybe less in northern michigan, we had a run to pick up two patients who later died of injuries from not seeking shelter,glad to see everyone or at least several of you sought shelter in the bathrooms,most people don't and pay the price.

But I walked my dog at 6 am and casually rang their doorbell for a full minute before walking past the building. The advantage of apartment buildings, by the time their hungover asses crawl out of bed I am at the dog park. serves the punishment directly to those who dished out the late night noise ;)

Consider getting Camper a set of Ruffwear trail boots. My dog wears them anytime we go out. She can easily manage grating, like on those stairs, with them. In fact, we have an industrial oil field stair/decking, with the very same grating, as a "porch" for our tiny house. It never gave her any issues with the boots and she does well on all hiking surfaces as well. Just a tip, in case you never though of using them.

The solar panels in the windshield is such a fantastic idea. I've been wanting a Jackery for a awhile now. Between you Nikki, and Camping with Steve (Wallis), I could do so many more activities. All that more power for so many more activities we could do.

I live in Ohio and yeah we get some big tornado's just about every year. A few years ago we had 5 at one time touch down. A few did some major damage. If you're ever in a store in Ohio yell out OH and see what happens.

Michigan has so many hidden gems to explore. I’ve lived here my entire life and have yet to explore the mitten.
Camping 101.1 (101.0 being never keep food in your tent!), scout empty campsites for firewood left behind! It works every time.
It is awesome to see that you care enough to clean your environment.
Thank you for setting such a good example with cleaning up public spaces and keeping Camper on leash.
Re firewood, kindling, etc. I know you’re tight for space, but consider adding a Morakniv Companion and Silky Pocketboy folding saw to your camp kit.
My subdivision I live in took a F1 that night but since I chase I also witnessed many of the other confirmed tornadoes. Glad you remained safe. Hawking hills is amazing for camping and glad you were able to experience that.

Even brick buildings disappeared and only twisted pipes were coming out of the concrete where they once were. NO FUN AT ALL!

Those waterfalls and huge rocks look like giant replicas of a professionally landscaped waterfall features found in someones backyard. Very cool!

I’m from Columbus. In hocking hill because of hills it’s very rare a tornado will hit there. It’s rare in Columbus so usually when sirens go off we go outside to look instead lol. I don’t even go to shelters.

As a guitar player, I appreciate your air guitar skills. Last week on Long Island I got caught in a crazy hailstorm with a possible tornado in the upper cloud shelf trying to form. We had another one yesterday. Weather is definitely more extreme, we never used to get storms like this. Glad you are both safe. I always enjoy seeing the new spots you explore. And I like when there are other people and doggos around to help keep you safe. May God’s angels continue to surround you, Camper, and your turtle house shell.

Sorry about the tornado! We lost thousands of trees but no injuries. You were near our backyard at Ash Cave. Come back in October, new state lodge opens up and leaves are gorgeous! Show you some private property waterfalls that are worth the hike!

I spent a week on the coast of Maine and was having my mind blown and heart swelling every day at just how gorgeous it was. Going to Pennsylvania Mountains and rivers in a few weeks again, but was getting a little sad Ohio doesn't have such beautiful mountains and oceans. Then we just see places like this Nikki, and we're only a couple hours away from such a beautiful place at the very most we were missing and weren't thinking how lucky we have beautiful nature too. That state park looks perfect for mountain bikes as well!
