I wonder what adjustments might be necessary for a plus-size version? She's an XXL and carries a little extra weight in her upper arm & she is self-conscious about it, this would be a super cute gift she'd actually use.
Start with doubling all the measurements and go down or up from there when you need. You can also use a larger yarn with the corresponding hook for it too. Those are how I usually go with it.
