I've always been struggling with sewing trousers. Now I know how to fit it to my body. To be honest, I never thought about doing it this way. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Your pant muslin turned out amazing. I'm almost ready to start my first one too. Absolutely can't wait to see your finished pair of pants. The fit looks sooooooo good!
Great explanation! Thanks for actually showing the process on your body. That was the most helpful. Your dog is sooooo cute. He really likes being on camera. 😂
You are the first poster of this method to acknowledge we are not symmetrical side to side and front to back! Thanks for that. It's been my major holdup on trying to fit this way because I am aware of my different sides. My most troublesome area is I have a long rise and short, protruding thighs. If the pants fit around my waist and upper hips, they are binding in the crotch depth but loose across the front at that point. I'm going to give it a try, now that I've seen your vid.
I've just spent most of the day watching The Crooked Hem video series on this technique to understand and your video has really helped to reinforce that learning. I'm giving this a go. as I too struggled with fitting trousers and understanding the wrinkles and what to change/ alter. I'm hoping this will be easier for me.
Thank you for your review of this method! I'm so intrigued by it and want to try it out, but it'll have to wait as right now all I'm doing are elastic pants since I'm preggo, lol. But thank you again--your reviews are helpful as always!
Thank you so much for taking the time to break down this method! 🎉I have been on the struggle bus with the Emerson shorts from True Bias and I have made 5 muslins and have not been able to figure out “what” adjustments to make to fit MY body. Can’t wait to try it out. Thank you thank you thank you ❤
@@InsidetheHem I'm a total newbie to sewing. I've heard that puckering is due to upper tension being to high, at least when using a twin needle & stretch fabric. A wash away tape really prevents this, they say.
You can feel the bottom of the waistband through the pant leg. I traced that while it was on my body. Then transferred that marking to the pattern pieces. Don’t forget to add seam allowances!!
@@InsidetheHemthat would be good. To show transferring the changes on the Velcro-muslin to the pattern pieces, then adding seam allowances, and then the finished fashion-fabric pants. And put side by side photos of the working-Velcro-muslin with photo of the final fashion-fabric pants. That way people will know actually how to do each fitting-step and see the final product compared to the “mess” of how the muslin fit you at first and what had to be changed and in what order each modification was done
Ruth Collins’s originated this method. The Crooked Hem has a 10 part series about this which is excellent.
The series of videos by The Crooked Hem are phenomenal!
You have made this easy to understand. I've watched several videos but this makes sense. Thanks so much
I have watched so many videos on this method but this video made it all make sense. Thank you!
Haha 😂 the dog is everything and the info is valuable thank you 😊
Some other videos made it seem so difficult, but your instructions were so simple!
Thanks for getting right to the method and still making it clear. Seeing you do it on your own body helped me understand it much better.
This is so flipping smart 🤯

Your dog is so cute!!!!
Thank you! She’s 1/2, our youngest, Biscuit!
The bouncy dog had me in tears from laughing so hard!
She’s out of her mind when I’m filming! I think she thinks I’m talking to her since there are no other humans there! Lol!
Fantastic!!!!!
Brilliant!!!!!! Thank you for sharing this xxx
You’re welcome!!
Excellent❣️
hey. is it a maze to try this on men's pants?
What is a ditto form can it go to 37 hip and 36 bust with 33 waist?
Phenomenal!!!!
Right?! My mind is blown!
Wow!
I coulnt help but notice the extreme puckering on the back seams. Wish you would have addressed this.
That was just my bad sewing. Rushed. Puckering usually isn’t a sign of bad fit…just bad construction.

How do you figure out how much you moved to put it on the pattern?

What video is the completed pants on please?
I didn’t make one. Should I?

Noodle=baked. 🤯
👌💕
So basically it’s draping on your body instead of Dressform
Yah! That’s a good way of looking at it!
Very confusing..love the dog though.
Go check out the links with more detailed explanations. It's not as complicated as it seems when they broke it down for me!
Thanks. Those pants fit you to a T
WTF??
Why are you dressed like you are?
thank you very much for this tutorial
thanks to this, I found out about TDCO method
I am very enthusiastic to try it!
