    Yeah the 190x51 works fine. That's what I installed, Monarch RL 190x51

      Hi, looking to add the 190 x 51 to my 2011 stumpy. It suggests the 190 x 45 but guessing you have had no issues with your installation?

      I sold the bike a while back. I gotta say, even though the shock worked, in hindsight i should've gotten a better shock. But i also wasnt sure if it would work and didnt eant to just throw money away.

    My Future Shock Brain was version 1 not triad, the brain eventually would not lock out, trying to fix it I let all the gas out and its unserviceable now.
    So I just got the Yoke and a DNM 190mm shock from amazon. I really like this bike and it still ripped with Kenda high rollers, hopefully this replacement is good. I'm not rich and there are no good full suspension bikes under $800 today that can match.

    • @dragonjerod
      @dragonjerod  2 года назад

      I've heard the dnm is a decent cheap shock, it won't perform like a fox, but it'll let you ride. Maybe keep an eye on ebay until you can grab a good used shock for cheap. That's why I put the xfusion, just to have something cheap that works until I can get a good one.

    Hey, that shock you took off looks like it’s still in good condition. What would you sell it to me for?

  • @pipesjunior

    Was the 190 x 51 a good fit? I’ve been told I need 197 x 47 by Specialized. I’ve got the 2011 model however shock and size the same as the 2010 by the look of it!

    hi brother. I like your video. I have a Stumpjumper 2010 and I need to change my old shock. Which other shock fit to my bike? What do you think about Monarch RL 190*51

    • @dragonjerod
      @dragonjerod  Год назад

      Depends on your size frame and if it's the 26 or 29. On the bikeyoke website they list the years and models and what size fits. As long as it's the size listed any shock will do.

    • @engibike
      @engibike Год назад

      @@dragonjerod my bike is stumpjumper 2010 rim 26 (seems like yours) Bikeyoke website recommend 190*45 shock. The x' fusion is excellet and fits very well. Do you know another brand o model of rear shock? What about the eyelet width? I watch another guy doing a modification because the eyelet shock is wider. I don´t want to do that.

    • @dragonjerod
      @dragonjerod  Год назад +1

      @Engibike just type 190x45 on ebay and you should be good. The 190 is the eye to eye. Most likely you'll have to remove the spacer from your shock and put it on the new one. I had to do that. It's pretty easy. There's a few fox on ebay right now at a good price.

    • @dragonjerod
      @dragonjerod  Год назад +1

      @Engibike you can measure the width of the eyelet, but that's pretty standard, there are some weird ones, but overall it's mostly the same. The insert and screw is what ch he's and for that you'll have to remove the ones on the stock shock and put them on the new one.

    Do you have the part numbers for the yolk. And the shock. If it’s available?

    • @dragonjerod
      @dragonjerod  2 года назад

      The one for my bike is sj01, the newer models use sj02, the website has the bikes years and models matching the yoke part number. For the shock I got an xfusion 02 pro rl, 190mm x 45mm. Any shock that is 190x45 should work, might need to replace the eyelet spacers. I would go for a better shock if you can afford it or if you happen to find a cheap one.

    Why would you swap out a fox shock for a x fusion? Should the fox not be better the a x fusion?

    • @dragonjerod
      @dragonjerod  3 года назад +1

      The fox shock was not working. A working xfusion is better than a non-working non-serviceable old fox lol. I got the xfusion for dirt cheap and I don't expect it to perform as good as a fox dps or dpx2, but it gets the job done. I plan on getting a better/newer fox later on, but for now I needed something that would actually work. And now I'm not limited by the specialized proprietary mount, so, I have more options. Without swapping the yoke I was pretty much out of luck. That's an issue that most specialized owners, especially for older bikes, complain about in formus so I figured let me post this and let them know they can revive their still decent bikes.

      @@dragonjerod Oh ok. I was just wondering because I just picked up a 2009 specialized fsr xc. In mint shape. And it has a x fusion 02 Rc rear shock. So I looked it up and only found bad reviews. And the is a triad for sale on my local buy and sell that I can get for $25. But it is leaking oil around the rebound knob. He says it holds air. So I was thinking of getting it and rebuild it. Maybe it’s just a o ring. But are they even rebuildable? The x fusion seems to be working great. But for $25 for a fox shock. Maybe I am over thinking it. And should just ride it.

    • @dragonjerod
      @dragonjerod  3 года назад +1

      Mine wasn't holding air and all I read about them was bad things once they go bad. I couldn't get a straight answer from fox or specialized either as to if they could repair it or recommend a replacement. With the yoke I can put a rockshox, fox, ohlins or anything as long as it has the right travel and eye to eye. If you can find another fox that is not the triad and fits your bike I would go that route. Or save some bucks and do what I did. I got the yoke used on ebay for cheap too, so at the end I paid about the same I would've to repair a shock that everyone says it's not worth repairing and now I can upgrade to better shocks.

      No issues, but I haven't been able to test it on a trail yet. Closest trail to me has no shade and it's scorching hot in south Florida right now. I plan on getting a better shock eventually but that one is working more than great especially compared to one that wasn't working at all lol

    Anyone know the size of front wheel hub on this bike? I'm not well versed in mm dimensions, but want to replace my wheel. I have a RockShox Revelation RL fork.

    • @dragonjerod
      @dragonjerod  2 года назад +1

      99.9% sure it's a 100mm, I don't think there are 110mm in straight steerer forks. If it's a stock fork it'll be most likely a 9mm qr skewer. If the wheels have bigger axles you can buy adapters to convert them, it's fairly cheap.
