My cousin lives in Catania (she is Finnish like me) and the volcano is very important for the locals from what I can see. They basically call it mother Etna. They seem to treat the volcano as a blessing instead of a threat even though there's a potential danger. But most of Etna's eruptions don't reach settlements thankfully.

Etna probably produces the most spectacular lava fountains in the world, some of the videos of its eruptions are just awe inspiring. It also has produced a few very large actual explosive eruptions in its history, at least 4 or 5 times (though these are very rare)
Also not entirely sure that it’s the most active volcano in Europe because Stromboli has a strong argument to that title as well but Etna is certainly #2 at least

Stromboli is the most active in Europe and arguably the world. It has been erupting constantly for 2000 years now but its eruptions are tiny compared to Etna which is why many overlook it.

So i was watching the newest episide of Why Files tonight, and the episode was based off of s book but covered a volcano known as the Campainian Ignimbrite Eruption. Is this an actual volcano? I only bring it up because it was supposedly in italy too. If real, does this volcano lead to Etna and Vesuvius? How does it relate to Yellowstone. Sorry for the length of the question, thanks for all you do buddy...👊

Take a look at this video from OzGeology about Campi Fleigri and the Campainian Ignimbrite Eruption which happened about 40,000 years ago: ruclips.net/video/6CG-sjjDI1w/видео.html This should answer your question. BTW, Etna and Vesuvius and Campi Fleigri ( which is under the city of Naples) all have different magma chambers that are not connected to each other.
Edit: Of course we all know the 10th Doctor caused the AD 79 eruption of Mt. Vesuvius to get ride of the Pyrovilles. 😸

Maybe one of the Campi Flegrei (spelling?) eruptions. It has the Campi in the name. (Shrugs)

It is now thought that Vesuvius and Campi Flegrie share the same magma chamber.@@kalinystazvoruna8702

I read the title of the video and wondered "How was this determined?" After all, Stromboli has been almost continuously active for the past two thousand years, certainly active enough to have earned the title of 'The Lighthouse of the Mediterranean.' Surely this would make it the most active volcano in Europe?
