      Yeah. The thing I find funny is that the cheaters in the "open relationship" videos want to basically become bicycles - which, good for them. Divorce and become a bicycle so that the other person can move on. Because what tends to happen is that while they're screwing around, the other partner in this totally-not-wanted-open-relationship is looking for someone that they can basically start over with.

      Just quote Phil from The Little Death (2014) movie. Because she's softer than you. She's quieter than you. She doesn't yell at me. She doesn't call me an idiot or tell me to shut up all the time. She listens to me. She's nice to me. She doesn't make me feel like the only thing stopping her from being happy... is me.

      Fidelity, love, respect in a spouse is a beautiful gift from God. Too many take this for granted, and then the other person learns that they can do better. I'm disgusted with people that say they are in an open relationship, but they insist on everyone being faithful to them. Nothing hurts a cheater more than knowing you have moved on and you're happy.

    Never force a monogamous person into an open relationship. They don't know how to sleep around. They will approach it like they are looking for a singular relationship and proceed that way. What's this?
    "Oh now that you're happy with someone else I suddenly feel like my safety net is threatening to snap apart" kind of thing?Because if they cheat then they clearly have no care nor love for their cheated lovers, so why the sudden care and worry once the cheated one finds someone else?

    • @Hoki4

      They want to have the thrill without any risk, aka they think the other person is way too invested emotionally to do anything, or they take them for granted. Once they notice there is a possibility of losing that other person, they will snap out of it. Women get really cocky when they realize that they can do anything with a man and when man stops caring, that is when they realize they fucked up big time.
      In my opinion woman has to always know that if they start fucking up in any way, breaking any boundaries or doing anything shitty towards me, then I will just walk out to never reach out for them again or give any sort of closure. It's their own actions that will lead to that so if they fuck up, they will need to live with the guilt. They can do what ever they want, but their actions will have well defined consequences from my part.

    • @reillycurran8508
      @reillycurran8508 7 месяцев назад +16

      A lot of people who want to suddenly go for open relationships are usually thinking that the openness is just about the physical side, not really getting that for monogamous people the emotional and physical parts are hand in hand.
      So when partner does find someone and forms the emotional connection needed for physical intimacy, original partner who wanted the open relationship suddenly feels backed into a corner of feeling cheated on but also knowing they'd be the one to look like an asshole if they tried to express that because the concept of emotional cheating isn't widely acknowledged and they'd be accused of only wanting it so long as they're the only one doing the open stuff.
      Basically if you're poly or open friendly you HAVE to make sure your partner is too or it will literally always end terribly because you can't have an equal relationship when you and your partner are on completely different wavelengths regarding what intimacy and a relationship are defined by.

      cheating was described to me like trying drugs for the first time, its new, exciting, and intoxicating (which is confused with empowerment) and temporaility fulfilling a fantasy, meanwhile the other person usually doesnt have the same access to casual sex or relations, which is why the cheater feels threatened when suddenly the reserved one received the fulfillment from someone else instead of exclusively from the spouse.

    i just love how in this type of stories "wives" take advice from other single woman or divorced ones, woman if they have such good "advises" why they are single? Sometimes I wonder if they have any logical thinking about those advises or just go with flow cuz "friend said so and I must listen" like 6yo kid with no critical thinking.

    • @BrightElk
      @BrightElk 5 месяцев назад +13

      As a woman who has been in a 15 year relationship and married for 8 years I have found that single women tend to be a bit arrogant about relationships sometimes. For a weaker person that arrogance is often mistaken for confidence. They always seem to have the answer to all relationship problems yet they can strangely never take their own advice because truthfully they lack relationship experience. They take for granted it’s easy to get sexual experience but hard to obtain solid relationship experience. Really they are just compensating.
      I have one of those marriages that started early in life and it’s my first serious relationship. I get a lot of those “How do you know if the sex is actually good though?” comments from women. I don’t understand that though. I know it’s good because it makes me happy! Duh! I have no intention of risking my marriage for something that might be better when I already have enough.
      Beware of people trying to tell you the grass is greener on the other side. They probably just want you to join them on their brown patch so it doesn’t feel so lonely!

    Daily reminder that “I want an open relationship” = “You’re not enough for me.” Two things happen after that question.
    1) They say no, and will never get over the fact that you told them to their face that they are not enough for you. You will have destroyed all trust they ever had in you and they will begin wondering who you are cheating with until they can’t take the stress anymore and end the relationship.
    2) They will agree to open the relationship, reluctantly, knowing that what you are saying is that they are not enough. The person they connect with will at first be about emotional support to deal with feeling like you don’t love them. That emotional connection will turn into actual love and they will leave you for them.

      Fuck I just realised how minded your reasonning is. I was wondering why, in many of these stories (at least the ones that seem real), the partner that agreed to the relationship (not the one that asked for it) found meaningful partners, but that actually makes sense now that you said it this way.
      I was also persuaded that open relationships were doomed to fail almost all the time, and you also showed why. It's because it's saying "you're not enough for me" and putting your act in accord to that statement. No couple can survive that.

    Both wife and husband are idiots. The councilor seems super biased and unprofessional. The wife is a sheep for following the BS her colleagues told her...she wanted to have her cake and eat it too and did not care a bit for her husband. The husband was an idiot for not drawing clear boundaries and allowing his wife to walk all over him during the first part of the story. The councilor is unprofessional because she was pushing HER agenda instead of talking with BOTH clients and determining what they actually want and what they are willing to do to achieve their goals. The councilor was trying to manipulate the guy to get him to stay in the relationship, she was consciously doing what she did, she was despicable from the start.

But when you open a previously closed relationship specifically so you can be with another person that you have already started having an affair with (showing genitals, touching, kissing, and even emotional affairs) then you are just burning your partner and destroying their feelings for you. I like to think of this behavior as Open Cheating, it's cheating, we all know it's cheating, but one party was convinced to allow it to happen in the name of an "open relationship".

    Single women friends, the kryptonite of a healthy marriage. I don't know how many stories I've heard, of a wife getting new single friends. Who encourage her to go partying and live a little. Forget her responsibilities, her marriage, whispering in her ear she can do better, (when she probably can't) They just don't want to be on the hunt alone, and in their delusion that their lifestyle is better drag the wife down with them

    I got a feeling korea girl went hard on that knight in shining armor dynamic with OP was because OP literally had a slay the dragon moment for her saving her from the jackass.
    If she's otherwise an equal pay and such advocate it's probably less about what she believes about relationships in general and more about what she wants to give for him specifically because she sees him as her hero, which is just the most sweet and romantic thing.
    Also tentative reminder that infidelity can act a lot like a contagion in a similar way to how suicide does, and that one of the ways you can combat its spread is to consistently remind someone in danger of catching it that they can talk to you about whatever is weighing on their minds.

    Stop wasting your money on counselling. Get divorce and officially ask the Korean woman out on a date. Focus on her. You have your job, your counselling and your relationship with that Korean and your chores. How much can you get it done in a week? Sounds pretty exhausting to me. Move on. Your wife does not want you back because she loves you. She wants you back because you are more happier than she is.

    This reminds me of this woman I used to volunteer with at a shelter. When women brought up boyfriends or husbands she would wait for them to walk away and then say “It’s SAD that there are women out there who think they need a MAN to be happy!” I don’t even know how to dismantle that statement. She thinks marriage is sexist and she goes on and on about how she is happy with just one night stands and all a smart woman needs are friends yet she doesn’t really have any quality friendships to note. She gets very angry when women get pregnant too. Idk She was a little bonkers and some of the women ate it up. It seemed like a very unhealthy way to look at life though.

    I firmly believe that there is a limited amount of love a person can feel in different respects. Like a percentage.
    You have children, and it SHOULD be split up equally.
    Parents will usually see one favorite and one which may be less favored, or maybe equal.
    Romantic partners and/or if you have a single child are pretty much the only times someone should get 100%. You can't love someone whole heartedly and then love someone else even more. Doing certain things will place a cap on the percent, if not just break it.
    So basically, Epstein didn't kill himself

    Sounds familiar but different so must be an update. Open and poly relationship only work for a very small portion of the population and of that small percentage, only a small amount aren't just selfish people who only care about themselves.

    • @Joel-js2gk
      @Joel-js2gk 7 месяцев назад +4

      poly relationships can only work if they're that way from the beginning and it's something both parties genuinely want. It's something that should be discussed as early on in a relationship as possible. While it's something I personally couldn't do, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with it - provided neither party was pressured into it. If you're poly and someone you like is not, either change your own ways or accept that you 2 are not compatible and part ways. Not rocket science!!

    • @Moodyman90
      @Moodyman90 7 месяцев назад

      @@Joel-js2gk I don't disagree with you, all I said is that only a small portion of the population can make it work. And of that small group only some are actually poly and not just some selfish person dragging others along accusing them of being the selfish ones if they're not comfortable.

    I hate situations like this. Maybe I am just super old school, but i always want to hear about a marriage that lasted, maybe they struggled, but fought through it and are now happy as can be. Unfortunately, there us no way that happened here. The guy probably went for a divorce and married his new love, while the wife ended up alone and miserable, and that sucks. I don't think she is a bad person, she just got brainwashed by a bunch of idiots into doing something stupid and Karma came a knocking, and karma DOES NOT pull it's punches.
    But something i have seen. If your marriage is has kinda become a bit stale, (which happens in every relationship) you just have to find a way to bring back thay spark. Give the kids to grandma and Grandpa and have some of the date nights you had when you first got together. Maybe do a bit of roleplay or explore each other's kinks. (Obviously make sure both are comfortable with said kinks) It's not easy, but it is si much better than opening up the marriage which, as far as i have seen, has NEVER worked.

She never thought that opening could mean strings could attach or that dettach in her case. Cruel is how being naive can also be harmful but that's what it is for her. I would’ve left the wife and been with the lover. She actually loves you and treats you with respect. The only reason that the wife is trying to come back is because she going to loose her wallet. If the wife truly respected and lived you in the beginning, then she would’ve never brought up the motion for an open relationship; much less hung out with the people who encouraged her to cheat
