  • Matar paneer is one of my all time favorite dishes🤩
    It is super quick to make and tastes delicious! Here’s the recipe:
    Ingredients I used:
    - 200g paneer, cubed
    - 1 cup green peas/matar, steamed
    For masala:
    - 1 tbsp oil
    - 2 onions, roughly sliced
    - 3 tomatoes, touchly chopped
    - 10 to 12 cashews/kaju
    - 1/2 inch cinnamon/dalchini
    - 5 to 6 peppercorns/kali mirchi
    - 2 green chillies
    - 2 to 3 cloves garlic
    - 1 inch ginger, roughly chopped
    - water as needed
    For curry:
    - 2 tbsp oil + ghee
    - 2 bayleaves/tejpatta
    - 2 cloves cardamom/elaichi
    - 1/2 tsp jeera
    - salt
    - 1/2 tsp turmeric
    - 1 tsp red chilli powder (or as preferred)
    - 1 tsp coriander powder
    - 1/2 tsp cumin powder
    - 1/2 to 1 tsp kitchen king masala
    - 1/4 tsp kasurzi methi
    Procedure:
    - Steam matar/green peas in water till well cooked.
    - Fry paneer in oil till golden. Preserve this in chilled water so it stays soft.
    - In same pan add onions, whole spices, cashews, ginger, garlic, green chillies and cook till onions don’t smell raw anymore.
    - Add tomatoes and cook further till tomatoes are soft.
    - Blend it into a paste.
    - In the same pan heat a mix of oil and ghee and add your whole spices, masalas and the paste.
    - Once the paste leaves oil on sides, add matar, paneer and water if needed. Let it simmer on a low flame.
    - Garnish it with kasuri methi.
