This is me just testing to see what looks better. I know the comparison is not fair because I used two different lens and the cameras were set up on different angles.
I had a problem with S5 shutter angle/ speed. Everytime I tried changed it when I press record it would go to automatic.
I think its to do with the firmware.

The GH5 is one of the best and most underrated cameras of ALL TIME. Period. If you have one, then you know.
Yes is it , I agree its most underrated. I used to have one when I made this comparison video. Now I have moved on to the S5. But GH5 is still King. There is currently a three hundred dollar difference between the two cameras on line. I would still get the GH5 over the S5, especially for video. If I were more of a stills person, then the S5 would be the better choice. Unless one was trying to keep it small, then the G lenses win...

@@superzero4250 Having owned the GH5 , GH5 is very good and underrated. Now that I have the S5. I know some say the S5 is a mini s1H but I feel like it's a full frame GH5. It has a better sensor and better low light performance. I would have kept my GH5 but I wanted something for taking stills with. I ended up with S5. Video image wise s5 and GH5 are quite similar. GH5 has better menu system , S5 has an annoying menu system. When I used to have the GH5 it was easy to shoot slow mo straight from the box. The S5 is complicated I know there is a dedicated slow mo switch but I have had to read menus and watch tutorials to get it right. In 2021 GH5 is still a powerful tool it will last another 3/4 years.
@@GideonNtxbeni I sort of get what you are saying, but the features set of the S5 are not the same as the GH5. I do not believe the S5 is any better in 4K, nor does it do DCI 4K. I watched your low-light test with the 24-105/4, and it was impressive, low-light being its only real advantage.Also, shallow depth of field is no real advantage for video.
Maybe they will make a proper S5 version of the GH series. For me, all they need to do is update the GH series with Dual Native ISO, Hi-res mode, USB-C charging, true 10-bit 4K 60-120p, add true 6K, and H.265 codec. I would also like it to be more compact like the S5 , and include that new battery too.
Ultimately the lenses will just eventually weigh it down. The three lenses I am most likely to carry with me, will collectively weigh the same as only two of its S series equivalent.

@@superzero4250 I understand what you mean. S5 now does DCI 4k from firmware 2.0. The S5 is still a growing camera we never know what they will add to it 2 years later. Panasonic is good at updates, like what they just done to the S1. Yes GH5 has better features, it's cheaper plus its future proof.
The GH series will be updated I don't think they will get rid of that series. GH6 should be coming soon. They have a serious fanbase for it and some people invested in mft lens. Maybe they will include the specs you have said above.
Yes the S series L mount lenses are huge 😂😂.

I really wanted to see a comparison between the two great job as for the S5 there's like 5 different settings in that all change the exposure, iso, shutter speed, they need to be put on manual or turned off, thats most likely what your experiencing.

For the problem you faced, change the mode on the S5 to video mode not the M mode.

Hi , the lens information and Iso are at the beginning of the video. GH5 - Panasonic 20mm F1.7 II , ISO 400. S5 - Panasonic Lumix S 24-105mm , ISO 200. Thank you for asking.
I honestly think they both look pretty bad, looking at your skin there a lot of different colour blotches, you should compare the V-log on each camera

This is the first time of me using an S5 so I was just testing too see what they both look like.
