    Man, the last steel case 9mm I bought was the Winchester and I couldn't wait to get through that case. I had several guns that wouldn't even run it. I shot most of the case with a CZ and Beretta. Haven't bought steel since. I always did have good luck with Russian steel case tho.

    I bought 1000 rounds of this steel case. It ran great through my MR920. Not one failure. However, there were a couple of malfunctions on my fiancé's' G43. I wouldn't blame the ammo, the Glock has had malfunctions with other ammo too.
    Both pistols are stock and we are the first owners.

    Thanks for this content. I don't have near the experience of you and Teya, but finally had a squib a few months back. Definitely causes a bit of puckering, but got lucky did not fully eject and couldn't chamber another round and saw the next round not feed so luckily checked the bore. Was lucky to have a rod handy to pound it out and not damage the pistol. Glad you caught this and were not harmed keep up these terrific videos.

    Thank you for these tests! Magtech has for some reason become the most available brand here in SWFL. I have several hundred rounds of aluminum CCI/Blazer from the 90's. It spent a decade in my squad cars trunk. Then nearly that long in a hot shed before a Hurricane caused water damage to the boxes. It still shoots perfectly.

    I have had good luck with this ammo, really affordable. Have over 1k fired, no issues. Seems consistent, not any dirtier than cci or magtech brass. Like u said, its a possibility with any brand. My worst is Remington. I have had a couple squibs with it over the years. Don't shoot it much anymore because of it.

    I have run a box of the Magtech Steel Case 9MM through my Tisas 9MM 1911s and had n problems with it. It was a little dirty but ran ok and showed acceptable accuracy. I have not bought any more of it, but only because I started buying ammo in bulk and purchased 500 rounds of Maxxtexh 124 grain FMJ for about $.25/round. It is brass case round and shoots well ( much less crud to clean out of the guns afterward ). I'm not sure because I have not run it through a chronograph but I think it is very similar to Blazer Brass Case 124 grain ammo. It definitely pleases me more than the Magtech 115 grain steel case I tried.
    Have only experienced a squib once in 53 years of shooting. It was a reloaded round I picked up at a gun show back in the late 1990s in .38 Special. Thankfully I noticed it immediately and stopped shooting. I had to drive the slug out of the forcing cone with a wooden dowel . Hopefully that will be the only squib I ever have to deal with.

  • @Dietzeeeee
    @Dietzeeeee 14 дней назад

    That “squib” was a bad projectile. Suspect it was a jacket only with no lead. Due to more internal space and the projectile being extremely light it did not generate the pressure and recoil needed to cycle the slide but did have enough pressure to clear the barrel. I have run into this before with bulk bullets when hand loading 9mm and even fired a couple on purpose that I caught during loading and purposely made to see what would happen and that textbook looked like a jacket only with no lead. Hard to detect when loading a magazine unless you notice the weight difference in the brief moment you are handling the loose rounds

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  Месяц назад

      That's kinda what I was thinking. It was a very strange recoil impulse and not enough pressure to cycle the slide, pluse we only got about 1/3 the velocity. I suppose if the bullet had left the case and then the powder ignited the resulting peak pressure would be significantly lower.

    Does your K100 have a stepped chamber? My Q100 Gen.1 has a stepped chamber and usually stepped chambers+steel cases=problems. Not because the problem you had, had anything to do with steel case or stepped chamber: it was clearly just an underpowered round. I'm just saying that if those steel case Magtechs can make a stepped chamber pistol run well (excluding the underpowered round) then they are probably good to go with every traditional chamber. But I think that in order to have some problems, if any, happened with the steel case Magtechs and the K100 are necessary some hundreds rounds possibly without cleaning the chamber.

    Parabéns. Vc traz ótimas informações de armas e munições. Assisto muito seus vídeos. Aqui no Brazil a Taurus criou um novo calibre pra atender as restrições imposto pelo esse péssimo governo. Este calibre é um 9mm com uma redução do estojo 0,8mm e diminu também a quantidade de pólvora chamando-o de .38 tcp. Ele funciona perfeitamente na câmera do 9mm, sendo maís forte que 380 e com um recuo menor que o 9mm. Infelizmente só a Taurus faz esse calibre. Não sei se vai dar certo.
