The SA80 is being replaced but it is an open tender (project grayburn) with multiple manufacturers competing. The Knights weapon was seperately selected for Rangers and Marines (project hunter). It is possible it will also win the tender for general replacement of the SA80 but that is still to be decided. The Mil bought just over 1000 Knights weapons with an option for a further 10k. Grayburn will replace over 150k weapons.

That Webley & Scott looks identical to the Dickinson Plantation line here in the states - made it the AKUS factory in Turkey. I've got one of their "Estate" model lower level SxS in 20g with straight grip. A fun little gun.
Hey do you think you could do a video how new people can get into the sport, live in the cotswolds always wanted to give it a go but have no idea where to start
@@escapesuburbia1594 that's harsh! Although you could ask him, Sid or Michaela about my comment re balancing a slug on his top lip! I still feel bad about that.
I like my FAIR guns. I own a 16 and 20 gauge. Yes a Beretta would be great but the 6000$ price tag is a deep bite. The Webley and Scott is a nice gun but the FAIR is a better gun in my opinion. We all have our budget so don’t spend what you can’t afford. The important thing is you are shooting a side by side shotgun. Quoting ,It’s a nice thing.
About time you got rid of that SA80, finally got over that bullpup obsession, the Brertta side by side was beautiful. Its an interesting situation when your shooting a gun that costs less then the two shells in the Chambers....
what a great use of the drone! Filming the shooter from (almost) the target's perspective! Neat! Congrats! 😀 (I just noticed, half way through the video, so I thought I'd drop the comment now! )
FAIR guns are very nice for the price, we usually use combination guns from this gun maker in my land and for hunting they are just anwesome, I have Sabatti combination gun which is also in the same pricepoint over barrel is 12ga 3 inch chamber and the bottom barrel is 30-06. Very nice guns, up to 2000 euro you can't make mistake..
Crapy common British engineering : no common sense, up side down fitted, ugly as hell, unpredictable resilience, not suited for lefties. In two words : so delightful.
Hello Jonny, marcus from holland here, i saw you all three wearing the same coat , can you tell me the make and the type, they looked very comfortable to shoot in , like your video’s especially the one’s with Ed Solomons, keep making them , they are very very interesting to watch, bye for now
Hello... can anyone tell me if sxs shotgun STINGER Elegant A3 is the same gun as YILDIZ Elegant A3 ??? I have been looking for info for some time but can't find any on the STINGER brand! Just know that Stinger sxs 12g has a ergal reciver and Yildiz sxs 12g as a steel reciver! thanks in advance.
The preferences for the 486 reflect differences between the average American shotgunner for game and the British shotgunners for game. With the exception of American dove and duck hunting, American bird shooters prefer "walk up" hunting or "rough hunting" (as described in the UK).behind dogs. As such, and Jonny has experienced quail hunting here over pointing dogs, which gun would be preferred in a day of "rough hunting"? While the 486 may be better because of physics regarding recoil and swing, it would be a regrettable heavy anchor to carry all day long in the field other than on a peg for driven game or shooting clays. In the US, the entry Iside is blued and case colored with double triggers, screw in chokes, with extractors. My 28 ga. Iside with 28" barrels weighs in at 5 lbs. 5 oz. My 16 ga. Iside, double triggers, BLNE, 28" barrels is 6 lbs. 2 oz. Both would be miserable shooting clays, but for woodcock and quail, they are hard to beat for the money. Depending where purchased, about $1800.
SMASH THAT YILDIZ BUTTON AT 0:00 I KNOW HOW IT ENDS! :D All jokes aside: just as a fun fact in Canada there is only 1 place you can buy a FAIR gun: in a village of 150 people, 3 hours south of the nearest major airport, 3500 km west of the capital. Imagine if you had to go to a hamlet in the Hebridies to buy a Rizzini and that was the only way to do it in the entire country.
What i want is a new hammer gun that won't break the bank........being able to leave it loaded and ready to go essentially forever without stressing the hammer/striker springs is exactly what i need
sometimes you guys can be mean about us poor dollar wise shooters, thank you for saying it’s not the instrument its the musician… if you can shoot you can shoot it doesn’t take a couple thousand bucks to have fun. it takes knowing how to shoot and a shotty you love to go and have a good time
Anytime someone is “testing” SxS’s, especially cheaper ones, they need to pattern test them for POI. I’ve seen several lately that had the regulation so far off it should be criminal that they were ever allowed to be sold
I shoot Sporting 100 and X comps, why are you not using the X Comps, as they are softer on the shoulder. Has the Beretta 686 overcome the problems with the 'so called' safety featured, which locked the triggers on some overhead shots. A friend had three of these Guns, which all suffered with this problem. He eventually returned the gun and got a Fabarm S/S instead, which works well.
@@fun3000able I've got many SxSs that I've been given/inherited, including my Great Grandfather's stunning pair of Westley Richards. I love admiring them, but for me they're very difficult to use.
Prepared to hate a Ruger red label. Find out it crushes. A ruger gold label was Bill's SXS. Not the high end version of a red label. Get your facts straight and test one of those. Americans can't make a good shotgun, yet browning (miruko) is one of your favorite guns. Dude. John Browning is American. Its time for you to try a Winchester M21. Put and take quail hunting on a preserve with a 28 gage blows you away. That is the fake version of true upland hunting and you're blown away. Getting all dressed up trying to act like you're nobility and standing at a peg while employees drive birds over your head is pathetic. Just shoot incomers at a good sporting clays course if that's what you want. Watching you try to justify a $60k gun on shooting effectiveness is embarrassing. Up to a $10k DT11 money = better shooting gun. After that its just snob appeal and you know it. Just say "It shoots fine, but it's a work of art that you would have to be monumentally rich to take into the field and actually hunt and not be totally freaked out putting a scratch on it". Don't try to tell us it shoots better. You know that's crap. I enjoy your vids, but I'm getting worn out with the "english finest guns" inferiority complex stuff. Not a single man or women who makes a living off how the gun actually shoots uses an English gun. Browning superposed killed the English sxs and you STILL can't admit the SXS are now just an affectation. And yes I have shot all these guns and more, I go 100 straight at skeet with my DT11, I hunt pheasant with a browning 28 gage i've had for 30 years, and I am a mechanical engineer with a very precise understanding of these simple mechanisms.
You do realise that both factory Brownings & Miruko’s are made in Japan, and the best quality hand made Brownings are made in Belgium? Many Winchesters also came from Japan (same factory in some cases). And as someone who shoots a mid range modern Browning, I can confirm that the handling on an affluent friends Boss over & under (he bought it second hand) is considerably better - doesn’t change the fact that I couldn’t afford it even second hand, & a new one costs as much as my house, but if you can then why not? You will have a nicer experience shooting it. Right, now I need to buy a lottery ticket.
yep, I agree. I started on a citori, shot skeet for years with a 725, and the 28 gage I hunt with is a base model citori. A $75k Kreighoff shoots a lot better than all those guns. But it doesn't shoot any better than a dt11. As I said above up to about $10k you get better handling for more money. It is above $10k that diminishing returns kick in. I've shot guns ( including the Krieghoff) that cost a house and don't find the extra money (above $10k or so) = better handling. I'm sure the Boss that costs a house handles better than a mid-range Browning. We are in agreement there. What I don't believe is that it shoots better than a DT11, or a perazzi or anything else that legitimately sells for around $10k. I know and don't care where the factory is, the browning & miroku are either American designed or a derivative of an American design. @@jonathanhicks140

No joke!😒
Ya budget to me is 500 bucks
When your channel also plays with 200k guns, 2k is ‘budget’
A budget side by side to me is £200!!
I did a double take too. My "budget" is police auction where you try to get a gun for 50€ opening bid. :D
My budget gun was from Holts. English hammer, 12 bore, SBS. Breaks clays, kills pigeons. £40. It's fair to say i love it.😊
Great seeing you three together again , really enjoyed seeing the side by side shotguns would love to see another with a budget side by sides
