I'm not sure if I'm missing them, but I've been looking at the buildings and have not seen any wheelchair ramp or access for people who are less able or not able to walk, except st the building for the government offices (Tax Office, PICA). In this era, every building that caters to the public should be designed and built with access for those with physical disabilities.
@Prince_dre_king Should they be adding them as an afterthought? If you noticed, one building already has it. I find it hard to respond to people who lack intelligence.
@@mystery5655 I would advise you go and take a look mr. intelligent. Before jumping to conclusions!!!! typical uneducated Jamaican!! Always complaining
Mystery 5655 you are spot on i had the very same idea these buildings at this point are made for the able people with two strong legs. Book sence cannot beat common sense just the same might can not beat right these contractors need to see how first world countries treat and work with people in wheelchair or walker or cane or any device to help them get around but this is Jamaica what you see is what you get may not sound good but it is facts truth.
I watched you video from 2 years ago. It was amazing seeing them clear in the work site and demolishing the old Good Year factory. What a transformation from then to now.
Good job Paarie. Project coming along lovely. When finished it will be a thing of beauty and will bring St Thomas up to par with other parishes Would be nice if they plan to put a small postal agency inside the urban center. And it won't hurt to also put a small police outpost. I still maintain that a business hotel is necessary. Thanks for the update.
With all those buildings and businesses, convenient parking facilities for internal and external customers seem limited. Motor vehicle parking will definitely be an issue.
I didn't mention it in the video but it was stated that there is going to be a parking lot at the back of the property with can hold up to a 1000 vehicles
EM where have you been I miss your videos please show or let your listeners know where around these buildings wheelchair ramps can be found i hope the contractors did not forget these citizens first world countries have ramps and rails for their citizens that are not able to get around and now use a chair cane walker or other device. One of your regular listeners had the very same idea but I thought that as the work process ramps would be visible. From where I sit this center is not for everyone only the ones that can move around 💯 independently please get a word on this issue believe it or not it's a very big deal.EM this is my comment as it relates to what I have seen. Stay safe and please continue with the updates 🎉
My comment is that while it is great to see these things happen in Jamaica I also want to point out the fact that they haven’t been building those buildings with consideration for the disability community especially those two govt buildings like the one you show and was talking about how funny the steps look. I honestly thing they should have made one a ramp for people with disabilities who will need access to the govt facilities especially the govt building should be leading the charge is making stuff available and accessible for the disabled community in society because hey we all never know what can happen to us in life one day or one of our love ones so we need to get the attention and be more vocal about these stuff to the govt who built these and say hey so what happen to then disabled people then don’t they want to access these places also independently without asking for help to get lifted up stairs. Because here if America they make sure People with disability can get around freely and easily without having a problem. But I visit Jamaica and realize we don’t even have sidewalk to walk on much less push a wheelchair because when you even done a sidewalk you have a light pole in the middle of it with hardly space to walk. So I would serous advocate for them making especially the govt facilities in Jamaica accessible for people with disability and the old people because we all will be old one day and our parents too and our kids so e should fight to make sure when we leave this place they can have a much easier life than we did because we don’t know which one of our family members can develop or born with a disability that will make there life harder. And that includes making every single bus have whell chair accessible because it make no sense having just a few accessible because what if the last bus for the night arrive and it just happen to not be wheelchair accessible or it’s raining why should someone with a disability wait longer for a public transport because of their disability. When us with out two strong working feel who have an advantage over them get to go on the bus and leave them behind in the dark or the weather just because the system leave them out as if they still can’t be productive member of our society still.
I fully agree with you. To be fair though, there is a six minute long video animation done in 2022 by Factories Corporation of Jamaica showing what the entire facility will look like when completed. The video clearly shows wheelchair ramps and curb-cuts for wheelchair access. Construction is ongoing, so there is a possibility they haven't started on these items yet. The video is on the Factories Corporation of Jamaica youtube page.
Please remember that we are now in modern times/days. I've viewed this major development in St Thomas and I've not seen any facility for people with disability. Please remember the thousands of Wheelchair ♿🚿🙈 please also remember the Blind, Deaf, and Dumb. Thanks. 🇯🇲🚕🚧💦🌞🏡♿🚿🙈🚿🔥🐂

First thing I noticed with the first building that was shown.

thanks for the videos. Please give us some more updates about how the open spaces around the complex will be used as well as a tour of the interior.
Will do!
Great coverage! Awesome progress 👏
Hope the residents keep a grateful mindset to the founder and don't turn around.
🇺🇸🤔 Nice! I think Jamaica KFC should have Jerk Chicken on the menu as well 💯
That would be a first
UDC. Please build 1 similar to this in every parish, St Catherine and S Elisabeth next in 2024 and P St Ann , Hanover and St James in2025
Factories Corporation has this mandate and that’s basically what they’re doing. Identifying places to put them then build them out.
There will be one in every parish the PM stated this
Another one is building at boundbrook in Portland
Saw it while there over a week ago . Looks better in person 😊
It really is beautiful in person
🇺🇸🤔 Jamaica Island Grill is missing from the Morant Bay Urban Center 💯
There is going to be a food court inside also so who knows 🤷♂️ probably it could be there
@@paarieeastsidemedia that would be great!
Blessing for another update
Big up
Urban center coming along nice view 👌

Did you show where the health centre will be located? I may have missed that
🤔 I didn't know there was going to be an health centre over there
PICA is 'Agency', NOT Association
Thanks for the correction
Is there a JPS & NWC office? That's a must.
Maybe on the main commercial building
What you call 'funny looking steps' are suppose to be paying tribute to the Morant Bay Courthouse where Paul Boble was tried. Do your research, man
It's not that deep bro, even I agree it's funny looking, lighten up man
It seems you are out for me today 😅

It is supposed to be in the area where the heritage park is
Sir, it's a dual carriageway in front of the Urban center.
No, it's not a traditional dual carriage way. The Vlogger is correct. Do some research, man.😅😅😅
Next year about August they will be completed
🤣
Pm Holness transform the once forgotten parish
I’m not seeing any disability ramp for municipal building
