    That port of Street Fighter Alpha 2 was nothing short of a technical miracle- it’s hard to believe that they managed to get a game even the Saturn couldn’t perfectly handle, to run on a console that couldn’t perfectly run Street Fighter II in the first place.

      I agree the biggest hurdle is copyright though, any material that is copyright owned. Means he would need to apply for permission and copyright holders permission. The only issue with that is he would have to pay the makers generally in the process...

    I've never seen a channel with such production quality in my life. From the impecable written text, to the astonishing visual production (which is miles ahead of any channel on YT), to the incredible editing, but above all else the almost academic level of research into the VG industry at a time the Internet wasn't a thing and records were scarce (since the industry was much more niche than it is today). I am abolutely sure this series will one day be played at museums, and every university course will make reference to it. What an amazing and groundbreaking work sir. Congratulations and thank you for gracing us with your work.

    Another hardware extension for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis that was placed inside the cartridges rather than an extension for the machine itself, were the J-Carts such as MicroMachines, Pete Sampras Tennis and Super Skidmarks, which added extra controller ports.
    Then there's of course the Sonic & Knuckles Lock-On cart, as mentioned in your recent video in the Sonic series.

      @sidearmsalpha 5 лет назад

      I hear you, man. Too much focus on 3D and polygons but that's where the money's at. At least there are still some developers that appreciate 2D and are putting out some cool games for next to nothing on Steam and the online game stores for PS4 and XBox One. I also like that we are getting more retro game collections on the consoles.

    • @JimGiant
      @JimGiant 5 лет назад +1

      Yeah most people wanted polygons, I guess it was inevitable Sony and Nintendo went the route they did but if a third company decided to go the 2d route I think they could have still been insanely profitable even with a 5% market share due to far cheaper development costs.
