I love your channel! I am 15 and I suffer from grade 3 scoliosis. I cried a lot because of this, but your channel motivates me. I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I wish everyone good luck with this
i developed functional tilt as a teen. i am 22, I caught it on my own while its still mild. It happened all because I sat with crossed legs. There may not be any research..but your habits do cause scoliosis.
Thanks for the tip. I have right thoratic left lumbar scoliosis. I always sleep on my back. When I take a nap and just lay on bed it feels better being on my right side though. :)
I can no longer sleep on my left side. It causes extreme pain and soreness in my actual vertebrae and the muscles around it mostly on the left side. This video makes sense. My convex side is on the left around l5 s1. I have s shaped due to congenital hemi vertebrae that is getting worse with age, gravity and such.
@Move With Scoliosis of course! I actually have a question about the cushion you're using in your video. The dimensions and firmness seem great for me. Do you have a link to it, or any personal tips for finding good pillows?
I have on curve on my right side so i can’t sleep on my right i feel like my right’s abs start to annoying me that’t why i sleep all night on my stomach and sometimes on my back is this normal doctor ???
you mean looking from the back? The best way is to take photos of yourself standing and then lying down on the side. Are your going further into your scoliosis when you lie down? Then try the other side.
Currently I am getting up in the mornings with waist pain...I sleep usually on my back and sometimes on my concave side...may be the mattress is ready to be changed ..🤔
Great suggestion! It's not so straightforward though as it depends on what part of the spine the curve is, if there are any compensatory curves and your general alignment.

Hope you can give some tips Christine as I am very sleep deprived. I have a reverse S curve and can't sleep on my back or ride side (due to shoulder). I sleep with a pillow between knees, but the issue is that lying on my side causes the tight muscles in my lumber side to be over-stretched leading to pain and spasms. I have tried different mattresses and pillow support but can't relieve this (except to lie on the other side, but this causes nerve pain in my arm due to the shoulder issue). What can you suggest? PLEASE HELP!
Hi, so sorry to hear that you're struggling. It might be worth getting to the bottom of the pain itself and investigating. Do you support your convex side with a rolled up blanket? Do you find it difficult getting to sleep or staying asleep? Do you wake up with pain? Might be worth digging a little deeper.
Thank you for your reply@@MoveWithScoliosis I have tried countless pillows etc, but not under the convex side as I feel it would allow the hip to drop more causing more pulling on the concave side. I will try but I am not sure that it will do the trick.
@@MoveWithScoliosis thoracolumbar curve my dominant is the lumbar, my hips one higher in left than right imbalanced Should I sleep on my left? And do side plank on my right?
I have 45 degree towards right scoliosis. So which side should i sleep and i am on a wheelchair for 2 years, my back muscle seems weaker than before, i have to sit with leaning to the left with same arm supporting on the restarm. Otherwise i can not breathe properly or even feed myself on meals. 😢
i have left rib cage popped out, i know i have scoliosis but dont know if its curved on right or left. can i consider that i have left curved because of left rib popped out ?
It is curved on the left then if the left rib cage is popped out and your left shoulder is longer. It is thoratic. But if your spine is also curved on the lumbar you have an S scoliosis. Best to do it do an X ray.

We don't know the exact cause of scoliosis but yes, habits do matter for sure!
Thank you.

Sleeping on the back is definitely the best position!
Very good teacher..thanks

What is the sleeping position for scoliosis of the spine tilted to the right?😢

@@MoveWithScoliosisMy back tilts to the right every time I walk and I'm looking for the right sleeping position, should I sleep on the opposite side?

Yes maybe a different mattress or more support under the knees!
I have mild dextroscoliosis. Which side should I face left or right?
dextro means it's going to the right! It really depends on your exact pattern to be honest and where exactly the curve is.
Sorry but I didn’t fully get it! I have an S scoliosis
I also have painful facet jamming. Should I sleep with a brace as well (which is like a corset with strings)??
can you do a video for side sleepers who have dextroscoliosis?
Great suggestion! It's not so straightforward though as it depends on what part of the spine the curve is, if there are any compensatory curves and your general alignment.

Hi ma'am my xray findings is leftward deviation of the thoracic spine whats your advice for my sleeping position, thanks very much
That depends on if there is a compensatory curve and if your hips are shifted or not!
For lumbar right and thoracic left which side I should sleep C curve
which one is the dominant curve? Is one bigger than the other? Are your hips shifted to the left or right?
@@MoveWithScoliosis The lumbar more bigger, hips left is higher than the right
So I should sleep to left side?
And for side plank I do right side?

Do you mean at the front popped out or the side?? Check out my video about curve patterns!
