An interesting video. Thanks for posting. I went from full frame to MFT Panasonic due to age-related problems and injuries. Weight was a vital consideration for me. I read about the dreadful video focus of Panasonic G, and only jumped because I talked to a G7 owner who was a professional film maker and reckoned there were simple steps to take to take to obviate it. Following his advice, my focus in videos is spot on. I focus the lens before I want to start shooting. Any hunting is done before I press the shutter. I stick with AFS unless the distance to the subject changes when I use AFC. I opt for large lenses, going from f1.4, through to a general purpose f2.8. There are occasions when it goes out of focus, but these are very rare and I always either retake the shot or edit it out in post. I would have stayed with FF if I hadn’t been forced to downsize, and would have been happy. But then, I’m just as happy with my Panasonic MFT but, as you point out, the in-camera stabilisation is borderline magic. I frequently use my 100-300, 200-600 in 35mm, on nearly full zoom handheld. It’s a game-changer. It can be a trial to keep birds in focus on my 100-300 zoom, but that goes for many FF cameras and most birders appear to use manual focus. I know of a number of birders who use MFT and they love their cameras. MFT might not be for everyone, especially those who have a large selection of FF lenses, but there’s very little to criticise. The G9ii is, I am told by a user, up to industry standards re autofocus. Pricey though.
Even though Panasonic finally got phase detect AF it may be too little too late. I love my g9 but that autofocus is maddening sometimes. Pulsing in the background!

I absolutely love my new GH7. Big upgrade from the GH5
Nice with phase detect autofocus 😁

I agree completely on weight and my G85 is still one that I use a lot due to weight. And wow 100-300 that's a lot of range!
Glad to see you are doing well.
Great to hear from you! Been awhile and hope all is well with you.

Yeah that pulsing background drove me craaazy 🤣
