I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Jazz was second-in-command in 2007. A good leader always tries to be the first to stand up against something and the last to escape it. Jazz obviously cared about his team, and he also would have been the last one to leave during Megatron's confrontation with the Autobots and Nest in Mission City if he didn't decide to take Megatron on and fight him until he flew to a building and tore him in half.
Humanity needs fixing and I had a dream one time that humanity was created by Unicron since that’s where the violence comes from and I was the only human who was all about peace and living. Because I was created by Primus and have his blood
Compared to what? Idealistic visions of who we believe we could be, like the character of Optimus Prime? I think that suggests at the potential of humanity if anything.
Darius Safiri then your wish is granted because in the cartoon transformers prime or the season ahead of that bumblebee gets the opertunity to become a prime like Optimus watch the full season to get a better understanding of what i am talking about
zeoranger7 Silver Me calling you retarded and overly edgy suggests I want humans to be that way? You must be a lot more sensed that I initially thought, in fact you're reply was worded soo poorly that I could barely comprehend what you're even trying to say.
For me, Age of Extinction is my favorite. As much as I love Optimus never giving up hope, what I absolutely loved about AOE is that it shows that even Optimus has his limits and seeing him lose all faith in Humanity and work to get it back was so good.
I like how these scenes showed that Jazz really cared about his friends and their well-being. That probably explains why Optimus gave him the rank of Lieutenant; Because despite his size, he really thought about his comrades and put them first before the mission. (Which explains why he brought up Bumblebee when they were gonna look for the Allspark) This also explains why he wasn’t afraid to face off Megatron when he arrived at the city, just for the sake of buying time to ensure his comrades and civilians got away safely. *He probably found a cool place to kick it in robot heaven…*
Adding to your point, in the clip where he makes a last stand against megatron you can briefly see jazz turn and face the humans running from the fight as if he’s realizing he’s the only thing standing between megatron and the humans. A small detail but powerful in my opinion.
For Michael Bay's many MANY mistakes in his films, at least he gave us a great incarnation of Optimus Prime. Just like his other incarnations He's brave, noble, compassionate, puts the lives of others before his own. Not to mention how badass this Optimus is.
I love this combo of scenes. It characterizes Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet. Bumblebee's the main focal Autobot of this movie, being alongside the human protagonists most of the time. The absence of both Bee and the humans leaves us time with the Autobots. We got to know Optimus a bit before this, but getting to know him a bit more is still nice. The draw of this scene is the other 3 Autobots: Ratchet, Ironhide, and Jazz. Ratchet comes off as you would expect a doctor or scientist: he does not often express his opinions openly, instead sharing speculation("I sense the Decepticons are beginning to mobilize.") or fact("..the Cube is raw power, it would destroy you both.") that assist in the discussion and his allies' decisions. Speaking of allies, let's move to the 'Bot who chimed in with Ratchet about the 'Cons: Ironhide. He's already displayed a willingness to playfully scare, but also seriously harm, humans, offering to kill them so they don't disturb Sam's search for the glasses. In this scene, we get some of his thoughts on humans, looking down on them as a ."..primitive, and violent race.", though Optimus reminds him that their own species was once the same. He's very much a soldier, a warrior, whose mind is focused more on accomplishing the mission than the morals of the accomplishment. His focus is more on "Defeat the Decepticons" than "protect the humans", though I think his tune changes somewhat in later movies. That just leaves poor Jazz. In the scene between him and Optimus, he orders the other Autobots to hold back while he talks to Optimus. It shows his position as Optimus's lieutenant is recognized, as well as likely respected and earned. And both times he talks in these scenes, he speaks about the same thing: we need to save Bumblebee. This shows a high level of compassion and caring for the group, as he focuses on that despite the concerns of harming humans or defeating the Decepticons, even after Optimus seemingly settled the matter in their first conversation. This behavior paints Jazz as the heart of the team, which may be why Optimus made him his lieutenant: he's a very caring, compassionate individual, almost the "mother" of the team. I suppose it's fitting the heart of the team died in this movie, ripped in half, given people's reaction to the following 4 movies. But my point is, this was a good choice of scene. Maybe if we had this in the other movies more often, Transformers fans might've actually liked them.
I think of Jazz has the "Father" or wise/hip "Uncle" of the group, because him being the "Mother" of the group sounds weird (no offense). So I think the "Mother" of the group title belongs either to Arcee or Elita One (Optimus Prime's love interest) if they were in the group.
It truly pisses me off that Michael Bay killed off so many good autobots. Hell, Jazz was killed right in the very first 2007 movie! The Arcee sisters are dead(except Chromia, the blue one), Jetfire's dead, we don't even know what happened to Jolt, Sideswipe, or the other two wreckers, Ironhide's dead(which really pisses me off lol), Wheelie's is possibly dead from that ship crash in DOTM, Leadfoot's dead, and Ratchet's now dead(which really, really pisses me off lol because who are autobots gonna have for a medic now?)
***** Yeah but optimus prime has died a bunch of times. And considering how hot rod is in the last knight, Optimus prime will die and susceeded by Hot Rod
Optimus Prime is the greatest leader of all time, fiction or not. The virtues he possess and the way he conducts himself and the Autobots is beyond any other leader in history. The GOAT leader.
CoDWiiPS3Gameplay The only reason I would choose Optimus is because he's an unstoppable robot, but Cap has proven that he can take on different threats, Optimus is only familiar with Megatron and the Decepticons. He wouldn't know how to stop Thanos. You know what? I want a Death Battle between Cap and Optimus.
Christian Card Ever heard of a certain two-part movie called ''Avengers: Infinity War'', where *all the Avengers are gonna have to give their breathe for the universe if necessary*?
Optimus is literally the definition of ‘Leadership’ dude’s speeches, inspiration, wisdom, calm, and collective demeanor just makes me wanna go to battle with him even if hope is bleak.
I love this scene in the movie. It tells you why Optimus was made the prime and leader of the autobots. He’s selfless, brave, and willing to sacrifice himself to save others.
So was Jazz (he was desperate in saving Bumblebee, plus would have been the last one to leave the scene when Megatron forced everyone to fall back if he didn't get pushed back by the explosion, then straight up engage him afterwards). The fact that he was second in command here was no big surprise.
When he says "Were we so different?" you can DEFINITELY hear his Eeyore voice. Man, I wish he was still Eeyore. Maybe I might paint an Optimus Prime figure in Eeyore colors
This is the best out of all of them! This movie is my childhood and I will forever love this movie! Bumblebee might be a little bit better, but this movie will always be my childhood!
15 years ago today, the world was blessed with this powerful and emotional moment. This was live-action Transformers in its purest form. Still brings a tear to my eye.
I never noticed how absolutely careful Optimus would've needed to be to pick up those glasses without crushing them. The glasses would already be fragile combined with the fact that they are over 100 years old and yet he picks them up with such care and ease. I like that, it's a nice little reflection of how much Optimus cares about humanity and how much he wants to protect it
Jazz: Hang back let me check it out. Optimus... are we just gonna stay here and do nothing. Optimus: There’s no way to free Bumblebee without harming the humans. Jazz: But it’s not right they’re... Optimus: Let them leave.
"Were we so different" hits pretty hard if you know a little bit about Transformers as a franchise. The Cybertronians have waged multiple civil wars, as well as wars of conquest. Literally millions of years of violence. Ironhide really has no room to criticize humans, his own race is just as violent.
I miss the original team. With Jazz,Ironhide and Ratchet. And the Original decepticon team with Blackout,Bonecrusher and Brawl. I still wanted to see a 1v1 fight with Brawl and Prime
Ikr. They should have just continue with these original 5 autobot characters instead of killing them off and replace with new autobots who either didnt have much screentime and character development or we didnt care about. For what? Oh wait just to sell some fcking toys.
Same here. I always wanted to see more development with the Decepticons too considering Blackout and Brawl were able to fight multiple Autobots on their own.
I posted this over a year ago to mostly rant, so I'll say my piece now. It is in my opinion, that Spielberg was responsible for this scene, not Bay. Even as short as this scene is there really aren't any other scenes like it in the other movies, and Bay directed solo for those. I forgave this movie for so long because of this one scene. The transformers have unique thoughts, and they're treated like characters. I can't watch any of these movies from beginning to end because of the terrible human scenes, but this one moment will always stick with me as an example of what a great Transformers movie could be.
agreed bro, n steve jablonsky's music completed the music, with of course the bless from hans zimmer, for me the music is 50% of the movie, n a big part of my life😭
Honestly, to Michael Bay’s potential credit or insult, a lot of the first movie’s scenes have Spielberg written all over them. The scene with Sam seeing Bumblebee lighting a beacon, the arrival of the autobots. I wouldn’t be surprised if his involvement with the first was much heavier than specified.
@@Night5225 according to bay during the commantary of the movie, spielberg did not want to see a singel scene of the movie. michael did convince him to watch one before the final thing. wich was the house moment where sam has to find the glasses and a bunch of stuff happens with the auto bots outside. spielberg was not involved in the creative aspect of the movie.
We never got enough scenes of the Autobots alone in one place talking to each other. And the Decepticons were pretty much faceless Stormtroopers. Still, I loved this movie as a kid, and the sequels had a few cool moments here and there.
Ohhh jazz.....he really loved bumblebee, the others kept silent since Optimus decided to got get the cube instead but jazz still wanted to save his comrade first
+Camren Davis well actually the transformers had a war so massive that it destroyed their planet. We humans aren't perfect but we managed to keep a hold of our world
Anthony Rios yeah Michael bay squeezed to many autobots into the other movies. I mean jolt from the second one didn't even have 1 line. And in the 5th one they had an overwhelming amount of autobots that didn't do anything
by overwhelming you mean 7, including squeeks that destroyed a cannon? hot rod that saved cade and vivian? i dont understand how they had autobots that didn't do anything, but 7 is more than 5 so i guess its overwhelming
Clearly you didn't pay attention to the movie, what about those baby dinobots, the WWI tank (i forgot his name), that small version of jet fire, That crane transformer who stays back with hound in the junk yard, wheelie had like 4 lines and 40 seconds of screentime.
Y'know, after everything that happened to the Autobots between this film and Age of Extinction; it's completely understandable why Optimus ends up so bloodthirsty and violent towards anyone he meets.
I like how prime say “We’re we so different?” That sticks with me even as a teenager now as it’s a reminder of how you may look down on some different people but are you yourself and your people so different to them?
The portrayal of Optimus in this movie really sums up his character. The line, “We cannot let the humans pay for our mistakes.” really shows how devoted Optimus is for peace and that he believes that with laying down his life there may be one if that is what it takes to take the deceptions down.
Matheus Lima If you are comparing the films series in it of itself, o.k. yes, but it still has some of the same problems that sequels have, with it's characters being bland, annoying, and stereotypical that contribute nothing to the plot, while this scene is really good, but it's not what Bay's heart lies on, that's why it's overshadowed. Trust me, if they were more scenes like this in these films, I would have rate them higher.
"They are primitive,violent race."
"Were we so diffrent?"

Jazz obviously cared about his team, and he also would have been the last one to leave during Megatron's confrontation with the Autobots and Nest in Mission City if he didn't decide to take Megatron on and fight him until he flew to a building and tore him in half.
When Prime replied "Were we so different?" after Ironhide's comment of us being a "primitive a violent race" got me. We are just that.

@@ahsokarules2369 You have some dogshit taste in movies lmao
I like how these scenes showed that Jazz really cared about his friends and their well-being. That probably explains why Optimus gave him the rank of Lieutenant; Because despite his size, he really thought about his comrades and put them first before the mission. (Which explains why he brought up Bumblebee when they were gonna look for the Allspark)
This also explains why he wasn’t afraid to face off Megatron when he arrived at the city, just for the sake of buying time to ensure his comrades and civilians got away safely.

So was Jazz (he was desperate in saving Bumblebee, plus would have been the last one to leave the scene when Megatron forced everyone to fall back if he didn't get pushed back by the explosion, then straight up engage him afterwards). The fact that he was second in command here was no big surprise.

To me, it's more like it was Peter Cullen, since in the first movie, most of Optimus Prime's lines were made throught his improvisation
agreed bro, n steve jablonsky's music completed the music, with of course the bless from hans zimmer, for me the music is 50% of the movie, n a big part of my life😭
mondayjoker I love this scene. The other movies lacked this charm...
Somehow, this optimus had more of the G1 vibe than ROTB prime and he has a G1 design! Ironic.
In ROTB, Optimus goes through an arc that leads him to learn how to trust and rely on humans. So it makes sense he doesn't give a G1 vibe just yet.

by overwhelming you mean 7, including squeeks that destroyed a cannon? hot rod that saved cade and vivian? i dont understand how they had autobots that didn't do anything, but 7 is more than 5 so i guess its overwhelming

"Freedom is the right of every sentient being" - Optimus Prime
The portrayal of Optimus in this movie really sums up his character. The line, “We cannot let the humans pay for our mistakes.” really shows how devoted Optimus is for peace and that he believes that with laying down his life there may be one if that is what it takes to take the deceptions down.
Optimus teaching us about ethnocentrism and liberty.See,michael bay movies are also about culture and a lot people dont realize
Yet they are over shadowed by endless amount of action and explosions that don't contribute well to the story.
DarkHeroesForever but this movie was the best
Matheus Lima If you are comparing the films series in it of itself, o.k. yes, but it still has some of the same problems that sequels have, with it's characters being bland, annoying, and stereotypical that contribute nothing to the plot, while this scene is really good, but it's not what Bay's heart lies on, that's why it's overshadowed. Trust me, if they were more scenes like this in these films, I would have rate them higher.
Jazz is loyal to his fellow Autobots and their well-being. He should’ve never been killed off.
