I remember when I first heard there was going to be a live action adaptation of the beloved Transformers franchise. I remember thinking, yeah right. Never gonna happen. Then it was becoming a reality. I had no idea how they were going to look. I'll never forget seeing this scene for the first time, watching Optimus Prime transform right before my eyes. Literally never thought I'd see something that awesome ever. I kinda wish the rest of the movies had stayed the same, not trying to make Prime look so different. Still my favorite scene, from the best movie of the franchise
@@Alexander9924 As the movies went on, Prime became more and more violent to the point of being a Psychopath. No longer the brave and noble leader of the autobots.
@@dragoonunleashed9962 Yeah, i see that argument a lot. It could make sense, showing how as the war continued, he began to act not too different to Megatron. It has the potential to be a pretty unique spin on the character and showing how, deep down, Megs and Prime are a mirror of each other. My problem is that clearly the writers didn't though of that on purpose, as we seen Optimus behaving more violent and prompt to kill his enemies mercilessly literally by the second movie. It doesn't help he always pulls those grandiouse speeches that are nothing more than empty preaches to give the movie a fake sense of depth and importance.
Seeing this years later still makes me tear up a bit. The movieverse has not been the best but moments like this one where the score just gives you that grand scale feeling is just special. No words from our protagonists, just letting the score say it all.
Watched this in the theatres back in 2007 as a 21 year old, and the 2:09 the musical cue and Optimus rising out of the water made me feel like I was 5 again, staring in absolute awe. This scene alone was my childhood resurrected.
@@_214.matthew_3 Yes and no. Location was? Yes it was Ironhide. Design wise? They all look like Optimus. Probably budget and timing cuts. Instead of making cybertron designs for Jazz and Ironhide, they simply re-used Optimus.
This is my favorite scene out of the entire movie. Just seeing the autobots come together and transform gives me nostalgia. Plus, Steve Jablonsky’s score is fantastic.
I love how each vehicle form and landing reflects each autobots' personalities perfectly. Ratchet lands in a populated area and caused a ton of damage. He hides and makes sure he's not seen and carefully tries to make his way out, so he doesn't hurt anyone. He then sees the first responders and paramedics coming to help. Being a medical officer, he's found his perfect form, and scans the first ambulance he sees Jazz doesn't give a crap. He does flashy moves and and flips in style off the roof. He then turns to the car shop, and scans the flashiest most expensive car he sees. He WANTS to be seen and admired Ironhide has no shame. He allows the little girl to get a good clear look at him and carefully walks away, unconcerned his cover may be blown. Being a hardened veteran, he's dealt with much worse. He then scans the parents' GMC, a truck known for being powerful and masculine Optimus gets straight to business. He walks confidently to the highway and scans the very first car he sees, which coincidentally is a custom painted semi truck, which separates him from his subordinates as his form stands out the most, letting you know that one is the leader
I am obsessed with transformers and they have optimus prime the perfect intro. Can’t get better than that. Michael bay knew what he was doing to let audiences know how big and epic this scene is
Recently, on the 10th of July, 2022, I got to experience this movie in the theater for the first time. I couldn't 15 years ago because I was just an infant, but nothing has filled me with as much joy as those movie speakers did when I heard Optimus Prime's voice boom across the chamber. Timeless film.
The music score is amazing and really lets you know that this isn’t just a typical character into. It showed that this was HUGE. No solo intro of any character will ever top optimus prime. Hearing all the parts and gears. Especially the tires spin and lock up. Probably the most epic intro ever. I don’t care what anyone says. No intro of any character or characters will ever top this. I saw this in IMAX and every guy went hell yes and cheered when optimus prime was transforming.
@@mhm3766 Optimus got killed, betrayed by his master, had to kill his own planet for the safety of everyone, lost many friends during the war, hunted and he almost died again before Optimus said the "kill them all" line. You gotta think his mind started to break no?
Just watched this film this morning and this scene is just magnificent. The soundtrack and seeing the autobot in the pool then hiding just shows how peaceful they are towards humans and quite careful. A deceptacon would have crushed them in an instance.
I remember watching this in the theatre opening night with my dad. This scene right here was what made me fall in love with Transformers. It’s absolutely impossible for me to not get chills over this even after all these years.
2:30 Optimus Prime Epitomizes Lawful Good, a young human, a species that he has never met before, walks out alone, in the middle of the night to see him, and he keeps an eye on her till her parents come out... tell me he isn’t a paladin...
Trafalgar D. Water Law Look at the body difference. The one who crashed near Sam was bulkier and shorter than the one at the pool. That was Ironhide. The one at the pool was lankier and taller. Not to mention, why give Ironhide that entrance? The music changes specifically for that moment, to something awe-inspiring. That was, without a doubt, Optimus.
They can say what they want about Michael Bay, but this sequence is wonderful. The visual handling, coupled with the Jablonsky soundtrack is masterful. 2:10 That moment still gives me the chills. Just BEAUTIFUL.
No he was an awful character, nearly all aspects of him were poorly written and caused me to go off the films he is in. Shia himself can be a decent actor (I.e fury) but this portrayal is beyond awful.
Cade rarely screams and when he does, its understandable. Afterall, having a giant robot transforming on top of you would be causing you to scream and falling off of a building would do that. Sam screamed for no reason half the time. Cade also takes everything in his stride and handles situations effectively while Sam screams 'Optimus!! Bumblebee!! Ironhide!!'
It's just sad that aside from the main autobots (Optimus/Bumblebee), the rest are dead. But I agree that's it's really neat how each car represents the character of each Autobot.
+Orion Pax (megatroptimus) I like to think of it as "learning where all the parts should go to form what." in the initial transformation. After that they can do it much faster if need be.
I like to imagine it in a similar way to standing up. Sure, you could do it quickly if need be. But it would expend more energy. Having their entire bodies fold up and shift faster will surely do the same for them. But when you don't need to expend more energy, why bother? And the slow transformation looks dope as fuck.
Orion Pax they transform faster depending on what kind of scene it is. Like when Starscream flew down and transformed to fight Ironhide and Ratchet, his transformation only took like half a second

I remember very reluctantly taking my nine year-old son to watch what I thought was going to be a load of childish crap and ended up leaving the cinema feeling gobsmacked and extremely satisfied with what I still deem to be one of the best action movies of this century. This is my favourite scene, as I love a stonking movie score combined with a director's ability to inspire awe in the audience. It made this, for me at least, the best scene since the one in Jurassic Park when the visitors first see the brachiosaurus...

I remember watching this in the theatre as a 36 year old man in 2007, tears streaming down my face as one of my childhood heroes appeared through the mist, thinking to myself, “My God, that really IS Optimus Prime.”
Different how? He had the same form for 3 movies
@@Alexander9924 As the movies went on, Prime became more and more violent to the point of being a Psychopath. No longer the brave and noble leader of the autobots.
@@EMTeves considering how life threated him in a really bad way, it's understandable.
Exept the cheesy kill lines, just... No
@@dragoonunleashed9962 Yeah, i see that argument a lot.
@@EMTeves yeah, pretty much wasted potential and poor writting
Seeing this years later still makes me tear up a bit. The movieverse has not been the best but moments like this one where the score just gives you that grand scale feeling is just special. No words from our protagonists, just letting the score say it all.
Ikr. Nowadays all we get are feminazis.
now that Bay isn't running the show anymore. we can hold out hope that we may get something like this again.
Regardless of creative change, i carried on as a fan. When Shia left after Dark Of The Moon, my childhood was over.
THANK YOU RISE OF THE BEASTS FOR BRINGING THIS THEME BACK ❤

Same here. I also get very happy and excited in a happy sort of way that the Autobots are here! 😊.
Whoever designed the transformation sequences deserve a reward.
3:08 This scene will always be my favourite scene in cinema history.
same i cried when i saw the scene in the movie again
Ratchet tries out his new siren for no reason. Just because it's cool.
Always loved that detail.
I‘m crying too. Every goddam time. This scene is so epic. An the background music makes it even better!
I cried 😭😭
It's not my favorite, but without a doubt it's one that really impressed me.
Anyone hoping bumblebee 2 or next TF movie does something like this
Yup
Ya
4 and 5 was a joke restart from 2
Nothing can replace this
Of course
Watched this in the theatres back in 2007 as a 21 year old, and the 2:09 the musical cue and Optimus rising out of the water made me feel like I was 5 again, staring in absolute awe. This scene alone was my childhood resurrected.
That wasn’t Optimus rising from the water it was iron hide.
@@_214.matthew_3 Yes and no. Location was? Yes it was Ironhide. Design wise? They all look like Optimus. Probably budget and timing cuts. Instead of making cybertron designs for Jazz and Ironhide, they simply re-used Optimus.
@@ReichLifeBro, literally iron hide gets out of the pool and assimilates the vehicle
@@eddieeuan1047 Mate, Jazz and Ironhide all have Optimus cybertronian form.
It’s Optimus because ironhide formed before him and of course the iconic chorus for prime
This is my favorite scene out of the entire movie. Just seeing the autobots come together and transform gives me nostalgia. Plus, Steve Jablonsky’s score is fantastic.

"So first u become a space robot then u become into a semi truck and then break every bone in ur body is that *easy* "
Being a medical officer, he's found his perfect form, and scans the first ambulance he sees
Jazz doesn't give a crap. He does flashy moves and and flips in style off the roof. He then turns to the car shop, and scans the flashiest most expensive car he sees. He WANTS to be seen and admired
Ironhide has no shame. He allows the little girl to get a good clear look at him and carefully walks away, unconcerned his cover may be blown. Being a hardened veteran, he's dealt with much worse. He then scans the parents' GMC, a truck known for being powerful and masculine
Optimus gets straight to business. He walks confidently to the highway and scans the very first car he sees, which coincidentally is a custom painted semi truck, which separates him from his subordinates as his form stands out the most, letting you know that one is the leader
And Bumblebee?
Thank you so much for this comment! I was looking for an in-depth explanation of everyone.

Use to watch this everyday this was really my fucking movie man cant believe 2007 is gone smh
I am obsessed with transformers and they have optimus prime the perfect intro. Can’t get better than that. Michael bay knew what he was doing to let audiences know how big and epic this scene is
Thank you, Mr. Jablonsky, for this amazing music that elevated this scene into heavens.
This was the best of all transformers movies
It was the best because it wasn't over the top. Fewer explosions more story."
I am still fucking crying when I see this scene.
I prefer Revenge Of The Fallen and Bumblebee
2:09 so beautiful...the music, the blue light, the huge creature standing up slowly...wow.
ironhide❤
2:37 the iron is hiding
The World owes Steve Jablonsky a great debt for this transcendent gift to humanity❤🙇🙌
There wouldn't be Transformers without Steve Jablonsky. The score gives you goosebumps 😮
The first movie is and always will be the best one.
It what started this journey for the transformers it that very beginning.
Dark of the Moon is definitely the best
As soon as the goofy voices came in it was trashed, tf2
I prefer Revenge Of The Fallen and Bumblebee
Two scenes can give me chills every time I see them. The ending swing from Toby Maguire's Spider-Man, and the Arrival to Earth.
This is the best movie scene of all time. Just brings tears to your eyes, just beautiful
So were not gonna talk about the fact how rich these people have to be to have a pool big enough for having a transformer CLIMBING out???

Recently, on the 10th of July, 2022, I got to experience this movie in the theater for the first time. I couldn't 15 years ago because I was just an infant, but nothing has filled me with as much joy as those movie speakers did when I heard Optimus Prime's voice boom across the chamber. Timeless film.
3:26 that scene gives me chills down my spine
3:48 i love how Optimus tires sound as they're being pushed back while he's transforming
Freedom is the right of all sentient beings. Autobots, roll out!

@Allosaurus well yes, I also grew up watching it
2:30 Optimus Prime Epitomizes Lawful Good, a young human, a species that he has never met before, walks out alone, in the middle of the night to see him, and he keeps an eye on her till her parents come out... tell me he isn’t a paladin...
DragonstarFighter I think this autobot is Ironhide. I think Optimus is the one who crashed near Sam
Dapper_Cat no, the jeep or whatever the type of vehicle Ironhide is, is that little girls fathers
Sugar Sweet Unless you can counter my arguments, I'll have to disagree with you.
Look at the face. It's clearly optimus.
One of the most iconic scene in cinema history.
They can say what they want about Michael Bay, but this sequence is wonderful. The visual handling, coupled with the Jablonsky soundtrack is masterful.
2:10 That moment still gives me the chills. Just BEAUTIFUL.
one of the best scenes of the entire word movies universe
who else misses sam whitwicky..??
No he was an awful character, nearly all aspects of him were poorly written and caused me to go off the films he is in. Shia himself can be a decent actor (I.e fury) but this portrayal is beyond awful.
i do
Me too
i like Cade Yeager more than Sam WitWickey
Sam screams like a little girl
and Cade screams too but he dosen't scream all the time
Cade rarely screams and when he does, its understandable. Afterall, having a giant robot transforming on top of you would be causing you to scream and falling off of a building would do that. Sam screamed for no reason half the time. Cade also takes everything in his stride and handles situations effectively while Sam screams 'Optimus!! Bumblebee!! Ironhide!!'
2:08 the choir is so so good and it really fits the scene.
It's just sad that aside from the main autobots (Optimus/Bumblebee), the rest are dead.
But I agree that's it's really neat how each car represents the character of each Autobot.
“My name is Optimus Prime” in the voice I thought was so cool as a kid, goosebumps.
Ratchet: The one running to hide
Jazz: The one on the roof
Ironhide: The one climbing out of the pool
Optimus: The one standing over the road
yes. Its way funnier call tooth fairy someone like ironhide than optimus
every time i watch this i am refilled with new energy this makes me more stronger
Drashil Sharma aha ....thats fucked

Guilty pleasure? It's a great movie lol
This scene. The music the CGI, the camera work
Peter Cullen “My name is Optimus Prime” goosebumps 🥲🥲 👏 👏
Like absolute perfection
That first transformation sure looks painful/takes forever/wouldn't be very efficient during a battle. :p
+Orion Pax (megatroptimus) I like to think of it as "learning where all the parts should go to form what." in the initial transformation. After that they can do it much faster if need be.
+Jordan Hewlett the last time I heard this I was emotional 😢
I like to imagine it in a similar way to standing up. Sure, you could do it quickly if need be. But it would expend more energy. Having their entire bodies fold up and shift faster will surely do the same for them. But when you don't need to expend more energy, why bother?
And the slow transformation looks dope as fuck.
Orion Pax it was made to dramatic not a normal transformation
Orion Pax they transform faster depending on what kind of scene it is. Like when Starscream flew down and transformed to fight Ironhide and Ratchet, his transformation only took like half a second
Arrival to earth=THE LEGEND WAS STARTED

Summer 2009.
I was floored when I first saw this. Jablonsky takes this scene to a new level. The music at the pool is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard.
It will forever be impossible to beat the feeling this scene gave me when 11yr old me first saw it in theaters. The SFX, visuals, and score will forever send chills down my spine! People can hate these Bayformer films all they want, but this first one to me and my generation is exactly what A New Hope is to kids from the 70's!
