Yes, disgusting how on the 777 they figured they could squeeze another seat and go 10 abreast, and ran with it.
I remember the 777 2-5-2 configuration, which was better than 3-3-3/ 3-4-3.
My favourite longhaul birds are the A330/A340s and 767s. I opt for those whenever possible. The A350 3-3-3 is also miserable.
@@HplusG - I like the 2-4-2 on the 330/340’s, but the 350’s with 3-3-3 are much more accommodating than the 787 with the same, as the 350 has a wider cabin and can fit wider seats.
Japan Airlines fits some of their 777’s in 2-4-3, which sounds weird, but if you think about it, is more passenger-friendly than the 3-3-3. That would also work with the 350 ...
Edit: The 767 with 2-3-2 is THE BEST of all wide-body configurations.
@@sking2173 The weight and balance calculations would be wierd as heck. But a very nice config for pax. A couple, family of 3 and family of 4 can all get their own row. Not possible on any other aircraft.
No thanks. I’ll fly the friendlier skies of United Airlines!
I still don't like their livery. If they wanted an abstract take on the U.S. flag, they could have just refreshed the flag that US Airways had. That flight symbol they use is also bizarre compared to the eagle used previously. I admire their willingness to commit to something brand new, their new uniforms are divine, but for a brand like American I think they could have done better. It's very good that they have pared down their fleet types. I hope to see American retain its place at the top of the world's airlines. 🦅
Dump the AirBus equipment. The revolutionary Boeing era is about to begin. Blended wing/fuselage aircraft made of NASA/Boeing synthetic materials (1/2 the weight) and next generation fuel efficient engines (-25% burn rate)are about to emerge. Airbus is finally near digging out of their A380 vanity project. What have they been working on since 787???
It's just American't . . . .
Classic short haul Airbus, long haul thin Airbus and long haul “Fat routes” Boeing. It’s a pattern seen elsewhere.
Not really. The 737 is their largest fleet type.
No, Airbus is largest. AA is the largest operator of the A32F in the world with 452 on property. Only 345 737 on property.
Weird, they operate 2 flights a day to my airport while my airline that I work for does 17
AA stinks. Cramming more seats for more money. Awful.
To be more Frank I haven't flown with American airlines .....
As a Texas based company, it doesn’t matter what American Airlines does, I will not fly with them.
That’s ridiculous. Opposing a company because of where they’re re from?
Texas sucks!
I guess ypu wont buy a Tesla either.
@@briangasser973 Tesla has some operations in Texas but they are still 100% a California company. Initially, Texas tried to block Tesla from even selling there.
DfW only basically has all AAs
They shouldn’t have retired the a330….because they’re still young so maybe delta would take them?
I flew in an a330 on Virgin to England a couple years ago. I think they’re still useful. Maybe the engines are relatively inefficient? It was in great shape and reasonably comfortable.
@@markiangooley their age is roughly 12.5 years of age I find it rather offensive that they retired the younger aircrafts but kept the standard 777-200
It was a small fleet for AA so wasn't worth the added complexity to operate. They didn't need the widebody capacity in the current environment anyway. Their strategy is clear to simplify the fleet.
@@johniii8147 - Very true what you say, but I much prefer a 330 over a 787 with American’s 9-across coach seating.
@@sking2173 Fly business class and you don't have the issue
Bring back the wide body aircraft on your 4-5 hour routes. Put the customer first for once you greedy bast$rds
I think they should scrap all 737s and 737 MAX'S. They're terrible, old planes that Boeing needs to stop milking for profits. The A320 series is so much better in so many ways. Especially passenger comfort.
I like the Boeings more than airbuses though
The MAX is brand new and is just fine. I’ve always enjoyed flying on 737s
American is a small step up from Spirit and Frontier. Ghetto
