ANA is easily my favourite long haul airline. The service, food and cleanliness are all top notch. Also the theme song ‘another sky’ that is played when you board or disembark is so soothing.
A little side note on ANA's retired B777s. One of their B777-300ERs in its Star Wars special livery BB-8 (JA789A), was recently retired sometime in March. I follow a lot of JP avgeeks on social media, and they were all saddened when they heard the announcement. So on its last flight to HND, ANA had all three planes in their Star Wars liveries (JA873A, JA743A) parked at remote gates for fans to see and snap photos of. I was also sad to hear the news. One time, I came so close to flying on JA789A, only to find out they did an equipment change.
I've been based in Toronto since 2018 but i actually took my family on the ANA blue flying Honu 380 for HNL->NRT at the end of 2019 thru ANA Mileage Club(member since 2003) redemption. We even booked the couchii seats in Y at the back of main deck and my 7yrs old boy absolutely loved it. I used to fly ANA very often when I was based in E.Asia and generally, their staff services on the ground and in the air are top notch while the hard products in the air are at least above average e.g. minimum seat pitch in Y on their int'l fleet is 34 inches...almost Y+(I.e. xtra legroom Y) standard on AA, UA, DL, KL, etc.
As a Japan resident, I have flown many times with ANA. The latest being a flight between Haneda (Tokyo) and Hakodate and back in March of this year. All Nippon Airways or ANA is more commonly referred to in Japan (when speaking Japanese especially) as ANA (said as a word akin to the girl's name Anna) or 'Zen-niku', which is an abbreviation of 'Zen Nippon Koukuu', which of course means, 'All Nippon Airways'.
ANA is definitely one of my top favourite airlines. On par, if not slightly better, than Singapore Airlines. We started flying with them to the US with stopovers in NRT, and since then was our preferred airline. Very friendly crew, and even their food is good. However, their interiors can be a hit or a miss. You're either flying on their latest seats, or their oldest seats. One of my most memorable flights was flying on their B787-9 in their "R2-D2 Livery" from NRT to SIN. It was my first time boarding via remote gate, and my first time boarding an airline with a special livery. It was also during New Year's Eve, so everyone was excited to see the plane up close!
I am lucky enough to have flown with ANA more than several times, both internationally and domestically. Among the types, I have flown with their 767-300, 787-8 and the Flying Honu A380.
ANA’s 747-400Ds were awesome to fly on as a kid. I always had to take a domestic flight from Tokyo after cross-pacific from LAX and the flight hr that my family took was always served by a 747-400D yellow pikachu jet. 9/10 times, I was on that plane. It was rare to be on a non-Pokémon jet.
I flew on two ANA Boeing 777-300ER’s back in 2015 from Tokyo to Fukuoka and back. I’m very surprised that ANA uses a wide-body of this size for a simple two-hour flight. The plane was also absolutely packed!! There literally wasn’t a single empty seat during the whole flight!
ANA has long been my favorite Star Alliance choice across the Pacific to Honolulu and my new home Vancouver for the simple reason that United no longer offers special meals matching my dietary needs. My last fights were 2019: YVR-HND and NRT-YVR. My 2021 trip got postponed by a hit-and-run and COVID. If/when I get permission to fly, my first choice would be ANA direct to Japan and return via an ANA A380 to Honolulu.
Flew Sydney to Tokyo Haneda with ANA on my last two Japan trips (2017 and 2018). i just love flying with the airline. The food is good even for economy class and the service is top notch. I live in Melbourne, I could have easily chosen a Qantas direct flight from melbourne to Tokyo but I would rather fly with ANA and travel to Sydney then fly from ther to Tokyo. One of ANA's "Star Wars" plane used to operate in the Sydney to Tokyo flights, I was kinda hoping that during one of my two trips I'll be able to fly on the "Star Wars" plane but sadly, my luck was too bad. That closest I got was seeing the other "Star Wars" plane, the BB8 parked beside the plane I was flying from Tokyo to Sydney on my return flight in 2018.
Yeah, it’s previous-gen compared to the competition. It’s a shame, cause their best system on the A380, newer 77Ws and 787-10s are among the best I’ve ever seen. I’ve only seen crisper displays in a car or home TV.
I flew with ANA several times in pre-pandemic period especially the multiflight pass for foreign tourist saved us a lot of precious time and cost similar to JR pass. I'm very fond of ANA's A321N, 737, 767, 777 as these jets delivered the best comfort with exceptional hospitality while 787 fare average due to narrow seats. However avoid 767 at all cost! It made me doubt how ANA get 5 Star rating on SkyTrax and that was before we know SkyTrax controversial history. You can still ride those classic 767 on Eastern Asia routes but do anticipate stoic cabin crew with limited snack or meal along with tight seats which are starkly contrast to other premium airlines. Thankfully they are phasing out 767 in favour of 787 and I vowed never to fly with ANA's 767.
The 767 is really “rattly”. I remember a few weeks back when I took a domestic flight, my parents gave me the “wtf” look till I realized they probably were reacting to just how mechanically loud everything was in the plane.
I fly ANA often and I must say their service and on board food is amazing! I got a chance to fly the 787 while it was brand new in the fleet and I was very confused at the new window which didn't come with a conventional slide shade thingy.
Since I got into aviation, ANA has slowly developed into my favourite airline. As a kid, I loved the blue theme going on, with the aircraft livery, the seats and the cabin attendant uniform. I absolutely love their boarding music/company song, “Another Sky”. Plus, I am a massive fan of Japan, it’s my favourite country to travel to. So I was excited to finally fly ANA in Mar 2019, onboard B787-9 JA892A from SIN to NRT. I have to say the experience left me a bit underwhelmed. The 787-9 was only a couple of years old, but the entertainment system was previous-gen. That’s a shame because their latest seats they install on the A380, newer 777-300ERs and 787-10 are among the best I’ve seen. The crew was lovely though, as expected and the flight will still be a memorable one, especially since I experienced my first go-around. The aircraft ahead of us had a birdstrike on landing, so our pilot powered up at about 3000ft, we climbed and flew over the Pacific before landing 15mins later.
ANA is still one of my top carrier simply because the Pokémon Jets it used to operate, namely JA8956, JA8957, and JA754A. Sadly, 8956 and 8957, both 747-400D, were stripped the livery in 2013 and subsequently retired the same year. While 754A, the 777-300, also stripped the livery in 2016 after ANA’s contract with the Pokémon Company expired and ANA haven’t carried the livery since. The torch is now passed on to Skymark in the form of JA73AB, a 737-800
Hey great video. Can you make one that helps us get our flights once ANA cancels a flight. We booked our flights (6 in total) in July to Okinawa via LAX for December. Our plans were to visit our family in Okinawa who have been stationed there for 3 years now with now contact with family. Yesterday ANA statically canceled our flight from LAX to Tokyo. But fear not as they are willing to book us on another flight LAX to Tokyo about 40 minutes later from the original flight but at twice the price. We have been on the phone with ANA for the past two days and they refuse to work with us. If you are wondering here is the flight info. Los Angeles 12:45 PM Tokyo 5:40 PM ANA 7543 Classy move ANA Any advice welcome
It's kind of crazy to think that ANA's first 787 is actually older than their last 767
I know
Yeah

Thanks for sharing my photo of the eastern airlines 777 at 6 minutes and 48 seconds.
Ana is a brilliant airline. When in Japan. I always fly with them domestically

Can you please do an Alaska Airlines fleet video? I love your content videos! Keep up the great content! Thank you
Such a great airline. From in flight to lounge product, they’re very consistent in their offerings. My only gripe is their IFE (it needs an overhaul).

Their food is amazing even in economy class
Crews are always smiling & willing to help. I would fly ANA again anytime!
Very professional airline indeed👍
Third and amazing video and I love the ANA Livery’s
Make a video about the Philippine Airlines Fleet (Day 7 of suggestion)
Flew Seoul to Haneda on a 787 - lovely serice and food in their regional biz product
Make a vid about ethiopian air

My favorite airline!
Can y’all do one for Air India also??
Shame that Lufthansa and Air France jettisoned their A380 so fast instead of holding onto them until the travelling returns to the pre-pandemic level.
Yeah both used to fly to where I live from Frankfurt and Paris
Please cover air india
Thank you for your recommendation. 😊✈️
I wanna fly an ANA turtle so bad…
Fourth :)) and a really cool fleet

Too bad that ANA has retired several 777-300ERs although they received the last one in 2019.
