Its 1997 and a 10 year old boy is with his dad on a festival. One of the bands playing grabbed our attention because of the heavy guitars blasting across the terrain. When we got to the podium they were playing on, we caught the last part of "Engel" but the next song they played was "Rammstein". Its rythem got to me and then in comes Till with his booming voice and flaming jacket and this little boy was hooked for life. 😁 That song is still my favorite and even more so after i learned it was about the Ramstein AFB airshow disaster from '89. The lyrics, the rythem, the riffs, the visuals it painted the entire picture of that fateful day. 😔 Now 25 years later "that crazy german with his flammenjacke" still amazes me with every new album😎 Anywho this was my little story about my favorite Rammstein song. Thank you for bringing Rammstein to more peoples ears😉 and im certainly gonna check out more of your videos. 😄Take care.
I feel blessed to understand them, their lyrics are always as smart and sick as the music and the videos are:). Ever since I've heard "engel" as a child I'm a huge fan. If you haven't already watched songs like "sonne", "mein herz brennt" (there is a regular version and a piano only version that's fantastic) and maybe "mann gegen mann", I'd like to recommend them, have a nice day✌️. "Spring" is one of my favorites. As usual, extremely socially critical and mercilessly holds the mirror up to you. Unfortunately there is no official video about it, but I get goosebumps every time.
I adore Rammstein, I've seen them 6 times from 1997 to 2003.
"Du Riecht So Gut" from the 1st album is my all-time favorite song of theirs.
Well, yeah, they got real life inspiration. The Oliver Riedel's character with the highly exaggerated black, short-cropped beard and overstyled make-up is based on Harald Glööckler, a Munich-based self-styled fashion icon. Richard Z Kruspe, the one guitarist, and the drummer Christoph Schneider, are pretty certainly inspired by the US based German heritage Siegfried and Roy stage magicians from Las Vegas. The other characters seem to be their own inventions but obviously based on the horrible mutilations done by so many plastic surgeons under the guise of 'beauty treatments'.
With Flake being the epitome of the mad scientist/doctor playing the role of the plastic surgeon of the band.
As you can guess this song is a biting dark satire of the 'beauty standards' as defined by plastic surgeons as well as the extremes many prominent VIPs take to preserve their physical appearance, no matter the cost, without realizing that they become a living satire of themselves.
Oh, and the lyrics are EXTREMELY clear and non-ambiguous for a Rammstein song.
It is one of the most non-ambiguous Rammstein songs I've heard for a long time. The interpretation is not open-ended like so many other Rammstein songs.
Little is left to the imagination.
Rammstein: I've listened to them from the early 90's when it was still considered very edgy and non-conformist and danced to it in clubs when it was still hard to find a club playing their music.
But the most impactful video of theirs for me, as a modern German, has to be "Deutschland". It is such a compact masterpiece of detailing the often brutal history of the people living in the area of what is now Germany throughout the past.

Great reaction as always, your disgust with certain scenes was,.. entertaining I guess :) To answer your question, the Rammstein song that had the most impact on me is Zeit. Don't want to say to much why because you haven't reacted to it yet. But the message really resonated with me, the song is one of their absolute best and the video (I never thought I would write this because I thought it impossible) was for me even better than Deutschland.

Zick Zack! Hahaha. Rammstein always hit the right tone for me. It was interesting to witness the controversy they sparked in the 90's when they were not established yet. Which song struck me the most? I think it was 'Ramstein' by Rammstein in the movie 'Lost Highway', i watched it in english and when the music kicked in it amplified the movie towards a masterpiece.
Watching this, I have strong reminiscence of Siegfried & Roy. I don't know why? Keep up the good work! ♥
I honestly think Ohne Dich & Zeit are the ones that have really resonated over the years. It's been really cool to watch the evolution of this band, still all in it since the start really & I love when they're really poignant like Angst or off the wall like this.

Rammstein is my favourite band ever. They are so unique and usually have important and strong messages behind songs. The song that had the biggest impact on me is definitely "Mutter", which is still, after 20 years, my favourite Rammstein song. But it is only because it was the song that made me fall in love with the band and I still get very emotional everytime I hear it.
However, there are many other songs that are really special to me, like "Puppe", "Morgenstern", "Sonne", "Zeig dich"... there is also "Lügen" (from the new album) that is my newest obsession...
Anyway, I'm glad you like Rammstein and hope you will continue dive into their music.

..i read the lyrics after video...funny! I think, the more recent ones, are very impactful, if we know lyrics.. Zeit expressed what i feel for so long.. i confess, this Zick-Zack, (there must be less favourites), is one i think it is just a ok music..but from there on..awesome! Impactful a long time ago, was live show, when i realized it was about the canibal story.. They aren't afraid of tabu subjects..i love that!

Oh this is good…Without looking up the lyrics, I could gather that cosmetic surgery/youth preservation was the theme. Done in the indomitable Rammstein style…with a bit of yuck thrown in for good measure. This band are never afraid to address subjects that other bands would steer clear of. While this may not be as hard hitting as say Deutschland, it nonetheless addresses, and pokes fun, at peoples attempts at trying to keep ageing at bay…at best a temporary fix before gravity kicks in. Sabina Reactions…the channel that continues to deliver some great music of all genres for all to enjoy. Quality reaction Sabina…loved the omg face at the end😆

Exactly my thoughts! You can't react to Rammstein songs if you don't understand german and the english translation cannot reflect the complexity of the german language.

Actually, the song I like the most is "Stirb nicht vor mir" a duett with Sharleen Spiteri. It is a very old song and there is no video of a life performance but even the fake and fan made video is wonderful.

Hey Sabina, can we get to react to some danish dynamite in the form of Volbeat? They are one of the biggest Hard Rock bands out there today. Their singer Michael Poulsen has a very distinctive voice a very unique tone. Maybe do their song "For evigt"

Great Show by you as usual! Yes it is creepy but... arent most of their songs in some ways? If you are looking for some funny stuff i recommend an other song from their new album but as a more than political correct person (lol) i cant give you the whole title which has two words. The first starts with a d and ends with icke and the second starts with a t and ends with itten. And it's really fun! Trust the old Rammsteinfans with grey hair...

We have seen almost every member of Rammstein in drag or similar presentations but I will say despite relating a lot with Paul’s perfume obsession and smelling good I think Oliver for once looks the best almost his band mates. That blond wig is one that’s hard NOT to notice and I reckon he had to shave irl to paint a beard with a tattoo gun on his face XD. Although his looks don’t come close to being genuinely attractive to Frau Schneider as the fans would say from Mein Teil music video 😆

All of the people portrayed by the band, are people from film, music, "personalities" who have dedicated themselves to the subject of cosmetic surgery, Botox and the like and have changed drastically - mostly to the detriment.
Shocking, but more than real...
AND RAMMSTEIN lets himself out on the subject - how could it be otherwise - and thus shakes the limit of what is tolerable !!!
How come nobody came up with these do it yourself procedures before ?

This entire thing is hilarious. From the overdone plastic surgery to the old ladies in the audience to the dancing girls to the way Till looks so determined that the show must go on after stapling his face. It must be how they imagine themselves if they had a Las Vegas residency in their future haha. I love R+ so much, their sense of humor is as great as their music.
