1981, Doobie Brothers Perform "Listen To The Music."
Michael McDonald's Heavy Backing Vocals Sound Remarkably Stellar On This Song. His Voice Strongly Supports Drummer, Keith Knudsen, Who Takes Lead Performance On This One. And Chet McCracken's Drumming Adds So Much Dimension To The Music Arrangements. Nice Use Of The Cymbals Here. Also Check Out Michael McDonald's Skills On The Piano. He's The Hotshot On His Keyboard.

In times like these, I listen to the music 🎵 🕺 😮💨
Finally! Congratulations on your election into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Doobie Brothers should be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!!
Thet are as of 2020!
Aviators, receding hairline mullet, blue polo tucked into a crisp pair of leather pants on a 125lb tan bearded guy. Only in the 80s, man.
I think Keith was gorgeous x
Also discovered that Keith contracted polio as a child 😢 x
I love this version, keith's voice is immense! I think the faster tempo works well here as the energy of this lineup is more R&B compared to the Country vibe of the Tom Johnstone era. Michael is a legend as ever! Fuck the haters, the Doobies wouldn't have survived without him.
I love Keith and think he made this his own. Taken far too young. Play it often x
I'm really good friends with this woman named Kate, she was married to Keith. She's introduced me to all the band members! What an amazing moment that was! I'm now really close to John Mcfee, he's my mentor on the guitar! They've been such an amazing band. Always have been, and always will be! Doobies forever!
this was the best rendition of the Doobie Bros Band -- Chet McCraken, Bobbie LaKind, Willie Weeks, Mike McDonald, Jon McFee....loved this band.!!!
They were good, but they didn't have Mr. Doobie Tom Johnston. Without Tom, it is a safe bet to say most people would have never heard of the Doobies.
How about Mr Simmons? X
@@karendoherty4604 : goes without saying. Out of my "list" ^^up there^^ he would be the only original.
Ha, I didn't know Keith could sing. The Doobies are so cool.
Yep! He's got quite a voice too. He would wear a microphone headset at shows so that he could contribute to their vocal harmonies while drumming.
So crazy how they all have like, amazing voices and quite the vibrato in them
You know that you have a talented band when the members can all improvise solos and all contribute to the vocals of a member who was absent (Tom Johnston). Keith Knudsen has more talent at the end of his little finger than all musicians today combined.
You don't listen to new music? That's quite embarrassing to admit.
@@herbie747 Embarrassing is admitting that you listen to it. There's nothing out there today worth a crap. It's all corporate bullshit. Some of these cookie cutter singers have the nerve to
call themselves artists. They're
WE lost Keith way too early.
Only the really good members of bands die first. RIP Keith Knudsen
Uncle Chet, we'll keep listening to the music. RIP
Keith had a wonderful voice.
He was the coolest!

He truly was - IS a legend . Multi talented beautiful voice
Not only was Keith Knudsen a great drummer, but a great singer too.
It's worth noting that Keith did co-lead vocals in the Doobie Brothers song "Double Dealin' Four Flusher" for their 1975 album Stampede.
I love this doobies lineup , Keith was and is a legend , incredible musician so skilled , beautiful voice I wish I could have experienced this.
A dream .
Listen to Keith!
Cool! A great voice here. If Tom couldn't be there, yes, Keith was ready to step up, no problem. A great show on a sunny California day. I saw them on this tour and it was a blast. Great songs, all great talents...man they just rocked the place. Thanks for great memories guys.
Love it!
Son❤ maravillosos increíbles
Great song, great live band. You can tell they recorded this right from the board and this was LIVE! Great stuff, thank you.
They were having so much fun :-)
Listen to the music ❤❤❤❤❤
Great version! Excellent musicians!
Awesome version!
The greatest band of all time
MAGNIFICENT
Knudsen had a very strong high voice...wow forgot his backing vocals
I like your description for this song, it comes from appreciation for the band, their rock n roll and music. Great performance as well!
Afincados y con mucho ritmo , buenos muy buenos músicos todos
R.I.P. KEITH KNUDSEN
Keith Knudsen "Southern Pacific" RIP
Impresive voice
Keith Knudsen rocks!
They don't look nearly as dirty and stoned as they use to 😂😂😂. Sounds amazing!
I never knew that the drummers did the vocals for this song?!
Just after Tom Johnston quit the band.
I correct myself, Keith the drummer did the lead vocals in the live sets in later years
Willie Weeks was a perfect replacement for Tiran.
2019..12..13..19..12..42..19.....love..thiskieth...superman...happy.birthday
Geil
Keith Knudsenの下手な側転がたまんないすね。
Willie Weeks can play with anyone!
Love the Doobie Brother’s music, but sadly this isn’t their best effort. Keep on rockin though.
This song is timeless...Keith sounds great. But my heart is with the younger Tom Johnston voice for this song. So awesome. It has a bit more edge to it. I believe the song was written by Tom Johnston as well. I like this version but it feels a bit too fast. Just my opinion.
Gotta agree with you on that. Tom Johnston did this song better, but I think that Keith was doing a good job keeping it alive when Tom wasn't in the band.
Was that Kenny Loggins ? 👀
Superman. FAREWELL. You. Are. Forgiven. That's. Why. Your. Superman.
You can almost smell the booger sugar
...too fast...….
Holy shit, this is awful….
I think the only downside is the vocals. Keith Knudsen did a good job on this but nobody can get to the level of the original lead singer Tom Johnston
Keith did a good Job, but Tom is the man! McDonald is the worst member of the band.
Watch your mouth about Michael McDonald!!
