They already mentioned during Rebirth's development that they were changing the order of some story beats. Considering we're getting playable Cid next game, we are 100% getting Rocket Town as that's also a place where one of the huge materia is retrieved. Also, can't wait for THAT Palmer scene 😂
My speculation of Cid's more mellow personality in Rebirth might be merely a facade/him holding up as the party are essentially his customers, you don't want to distrub the money-makers by the cig smoke and swearing all over the place. Once we get to the Rocket Town and learn his story, he will show the true color and start puffing up, at least off-screen or by giving implications. Although they might cut the abusive part of him, for the same reason why we didn't see Tseng slapping Aerith and Cait holding Marlene hostage.
You do have a good point. Perhaps he is a smoker, but he likes puff privately. Technically when we do see him, he's constantly "on the job". Anytime he's not on the job, perhaps he is a lonely smoker lol. I hope they really make it for the 3rd game.
well, SE made Tseng a good guy in crisis core, so they can't make Tseng slaps Aerith in the remake anymore, Tseng pretty much owes Zack a big time to treat Aerith poorly
I think this is a 10 for an FF title, if this isnt a 10 then there's no FF today that can go GOTY. I may sound biased, but personally, this is the best FF I've played this generation.
It's the best final fantasy since 10. That's over 20 years ago. But to me the last true ff and great game was ff9. ff7r2 is what the golden age of square soft games in the 90s felt like.
I hope Rocket Town will be introduced in the 3rd game. Also hope Cid will say his famous line about drinking tea and his swear won't be senored. I'll be more devastated if they remove that. On the other aspects, I didn't mind that Square had Cid quit smoking, go the 'cold turkey' route. We'll see he might smoke in the 3rd game but that aspect didn't bother me.

You should really not spoil major plotpoints in a review let alone without warning in the first 10 seconds. lol. That being said. I agree. The game was really good with the exception of the ending. Id give it a 9.3 out of 10ish. The game is excellent, just has some pacing issues and too many minigames

Great game. Horrible new addition that is not character moments. Awful treatment of the legacy of their own IP and the legendary scene. The fact you can also disable Zacks storyline when you have completed the game, and he is 1/3 of the cover, is just a hint at their confidence.
I disagree, there are plenty of amazing character driven moments, buuuuut i agree with the confusion of including Zack on the freakin cover along side Cloud and Sephiroth only for his portion to be like an1,5 hours, spread far and between in a game with 40 hour mainline story? If there had been some side quests that took place with you doing some Zack missions for an additonally a few hours, then maybe i wouldn't complain. It would have made much more sense to just through his storylinev later into the game (maybe directly after the Cetra temple, just before we go towards the Cetra city) and make it a full 2-3 hour part of the game with him slowly figuring out that the world is "not right" and then end with him at the church seeing Sephiroth and getting thrown into the void. Since the only goal was clearly just to have him tag team Cloud against Sephiroth as an easter egg for the fans. Instead we got to see like 3 alternate Zacks for some reason.... Or hell cut it entirly and just show him popping up via the whispers from Clouds perspective instead of his and let us live with the confusion of when and were this Zack came from until the final game completes the story.
@@HamZero Biggest issue for them is obviously the decision to split the game into 3 parts, meaning they now had to invent three new beginings, three new middles and two new endings (assuming the story ends the same as OG). The biggest flaw with Remake is that they shoehorned in a boss fight with Sephiroth were they _win_ the fight.... That minimises the threat he poses. Same with Rebirth. In the OG you just fight him at the end of the game. But from the perspective of Remake as a self contained story, i get that having Rufus and the the highway chase as the last boss battle would be riddicolous... Maybe they should have ended it with the flashback in Kalm, when Cloud faces him there instead? And have Rebirth start with the escape from Kalm? And as for Rebirth, the final boss fight against Sephiroth, should have happend before Aerith went to the Cetra city, that would have given us the big bad adrenaline rush, teaming up with Zack, the team doing the multiversal, multidimensional boss fight against him and then end with Aerith going there to try and fix it and then ending the game with her death and the gang in disbelief and then have the third game start with her burial. Other than that, i think the games so far are like 95% amazing.
