I'm actually pretty sick of it 😂 been listebing to Dead south for a LONG time and have showed alot of people them.. this is the song that always gets played. its over played to me now
Ehhhh honestly they, ironically, seemed tired. Like I honestly didn’t even know they do the swinging-arm marching bit every time they perform this but it just seems half-hearted here. Great song but a bit gimmicky tbh
There are certain types of audiences that politically-incorrectly are incapable of clapping a backbeat. I won't say who, but they look a lot like this audience.
This became my anthem after I was fired from a position that I held for 18 years, best thing that ever happened, I'm now doing something I love, helping fellow veterans 😊
the Opry is its own thing, each show has multiple artists perform, many Nashville tourists buy tickets and a lot of times they dont know who is playing until you get there. i went one time, was happily surprised Charlie Daniels closed out the night.
@@corrobWhen you're invited to play at The Grand old Opry , it means you've arrived. Especially when you're a band playing what in the old days, would be called blue grass music.
@@thebigdog2295 oh i know all about the Opry, i was just figuring the guy i responded to was from Australia and didnt know how that show is set up. and im from Kentucky, i know all about bluegrass too.
@@corrob Okay glad to hear that, didn't think about it that way. You're right though, if he is Australian he might not know that. I grew up on both. Minnie Pearl was a cousin of mine. So the family music was bluegrass and country. And I'm willing to bet you can guess which two shows, were required watching in the house when I was a kid.
You can tell they're nervous. Still really awesome! I bet they have played this song several thousand times but this one is different. The holy grail of stages to play on. Great Job Guys!
I'm into a different type of music. These very talented young men have changed that. The lyrics, the music, the voice are so fine. So good that it should be used in movies. Thank you.
My absolute favorite song! A lot of performers don't sound as good live, but you guys DO! Consistently over the top! I would've been surprised if y'all didn't get on Grand Ole Opry! Y'all are all excellent w/ all your talents, but i've gotta say that I "personally" have never seen such a musically gifted "whistler" before. I surge w/ joy inside when I listen & watch y'all perform! THANKYOU all for sharing your gift w/ us!💗💓💞💕
I wonder when the last time a Canadian played the banjo at the Grand Ol Opry? And with a cello? Nice to see that TDS have arrived. They're worth listening to. They have a ton of good songs.
@@IusedtohaveausernameIliked was replying to the post wondering if this was the first Canadian to perform at the Opry. They are not, but to the possibility of the first Canadian group with a cello … who knows?
The circle has closed.. this was the first ever song I heard from you guys.. and.. I became a fan at that same second... after that.. it has been a fun fun fun road trip... never heard a bad song so far.. and now.. dang !!!! This one again.. played and sung like this.. flawless... brilliant performance 😎
Wow!! This is such an amazing Recording! I absolutely love these guys. I listen to them all of the time and I have been privileged enough to see them twice live in Whitefish. The first time at the Great Northern bar and then last year I worked for the Under the Big Sky festival which is rite down from my house and I got to stand on the back of the stage as they performed Banjo Odyssey and it was one of the most amazing overwhelming moments of my entire life I'll never forget. Maybe next time I see them I won't be so intimidated and scared to go up and say hey and shake their hands!!! Especially when I have all backstage access!! Such an underrated talent!! I appreciate the moments they have made my life just that much more enjoyable.
As happy as I am to see them invited to play in such a legendary venue, their music is best experienced standing, dancing, or at least while stomping yer boots IN TIME with the beat.
Back4Blood introduced me to this song. Played on the jukebox at the main fort. I would not start a mission if this song was playing. I had to hear the whole song.
Holy crap! How did I just find this. Danny broke character right at the end of the first whistle, "Like how are we here?" I only found you guys about 2 years ago and I wish I'd found you sooner. F'n amazing being at the G.O.O.!
4 people and two instruments. Music at its finest.
I hear 8 instruments
Agree
I could listen to this all day! Love, love, love them! ❤❤❤❤❤
Truth will set us Free !!
What? Thiers 4 instruments.
The Grand Old Opry--You can't do no better than that, guys!!! Congrats on getting to sing at the Opry!!!!
Going this year yay!😂
The Ryman, the original!!!!
The Fu'n GRAND OL' OPRY! Carnegie Hall of Country.
The pressure shows a bit, but they powered through.
Next, THE APPOLLO!!
This song never gets old no matter how many time I hear it

As the years go by this song and the Dead South's live performances of it just get better and better.
That was fun to watch, just good energy.
Ehhhh honestly they, ironically, seemed tired. Like I honestly didn’t even know they do the swinging-arm marching bit every time they perform this but it just seems half-hearted here. Great song but a bit gimmicky tbh
Imagine a world where audiences actually clapped in time with musicians. Certainly in such a perfect world we would have peace.
That and everybody would always sing in tune. :p Life would be perfect, there would be no war or sickness, life would be good, and I could die happy.
Y’all are ignorant
Its not that they are off, its because of the reverb that its delayed.
They're clapping on 1 and 3 instead of 2 and 4. Sounds terrible... if you are music illiterate, DON'T CLAP!!
There are certain types of audiences that politically-incorrectly are incapable of clapping a backbeat. I won't say who, but they look a lot like this audience.
Its amazing. They sounds "live" exactly like on clip - no autotune, no fake, no plastic sounds....
I actually think this is better than the recorded version. Obvious talent at play here
Congratulations fellas🥃
Our boys made it. Almost brings a tear to my eye.
@@Hailfire97 yessir! Love to see it
He’s the only person I’ve ever seen that picks a cello, but it’s freaking awesome.
But still bassing broo,friggen awesome.
Man...what an accomplishment to play at the Grand Ole Opry!! Congratulations to you all!! Well deserved!!

I watched the guys at a venue in Sydney last year and the place was absolutely rocking. How these people could just sit in their seats I've no idea..

Speechless... love The Dead South. What a performance.
I bought this record over 40 years ago and it's just as beautiful, unique and haunting now as it was then

I have listened this many times and every time it gets better.
Meanwhile, yesterday, in Jolly Olde England, I heard a car pass, playing 'In Hell I'll be in Good Company'.
Music is Magic.
Absolutely can NOT sit still when this song comes on! Best live performance in recent memory!!
The smiles on your faces express just how much you love what your doing. Thanks for post this.
Can't keep from whistling along.

I’m sure there are several Canadians but it may be the first with a cello at the Grand Ole Opry. Teri Clarke and Shania Twain come to mind.

The most incredible part of this performance is it's genuine unadulterated quality. The same can not be said about most ultima-famous artists.
For some reason, just fell in and have seen everything from a local bar performance to an arena like this...the consistency is amazing
