Most of California's modern-era major gun laws were signed by Republican governors. It didn't actually happen if you look at the data state wide. Was mostly talk, but never actually implemented. Oakland only recently cut police but that's because of budget shortfalls, not because they wanted to. Just people like you like to get triggered without knowing the facts.
