Greg, pretty cool that you ride bikes like this and give them a fair assessment. Unlike some other reviwers who ride a Harley then bag on it because it doesn't perform like an R1. Rock on!
Cruise control maxes out at 90mph tho. I’ll go LONG distances on my Road Glide and I love how easy the cruise control is to work and it’s easy to keep spacing in a pack with the up and down clicks to dial in the speed. Sometimes ya gotta rest your throttle hand for a sec but not in a position to let off. It’s refreshing to see someone who isn’t a Harley anorak enjoying them. Ppl love to hate. I wouldn’t want to own anything else. *id love to see more Harley riders taking their skills to the next level tho beside being able to ride down the hwy. I’m not an expert but due to practice feel completely comfortable at 3-5mph on any of mine
I bought my first bike this year. 2024 Heritage 114 Atlas Silver. Beautiful! I have put in 6000 miles so far, and even did Sturgis. Put Vance and Hines Big Radius 2 into 2. I even ride with my 7 pound dog. He loves it! You should get that bike,my friend.
The Heritage Classic is a masterpiece,. Everyone that thinks cruiser or Harley this and the Road King is what instantly comes to mind. Everything is just right, Just a gorgeous machine.
Ive ridden both and owned 2 road kings I prefer the touring frame despite being a smaller Harley bro. Always LOVED the Heritage tho. First bike I fell in love with. One day I’ll have one of those Moo Glides (special edition heritage from the 90s.. black and white with a cow hide seat.. that’s the one that caused all this loss of money many years later lol
The Heritage In my opinion is the best all around bike that Harley offers. I have owned 2 of them they are great for long rides or touring. And you can strip everything off of them and have a great bike to go out and rip around on.
@ If you don’t know how to ride a motorcycle why are you commenting are you ignorant or just have nothing better to do? Learn how to ride son then I will listen to what you have to say. Have a nice day
@@sebg2086 Why are you commenting if you have no idea what you are talking about ? Learn how to ride first son like a big boy . Then I will listen to what you have to say
Nice bike and even better detailed explanation you gave, thanks. It does resemble the Road King, for sure. I like the look of the King’s big front light and the dual front breaks is an added plus.
Yeah, cruise control is a must for me. I like long-distance touring and try to get a minimum of two long trips during the good weather season here in the northeast. If you put in a 500 or more mile day, you appreciate it. I currently own two bikes, both Yamahas, a Royal Star Venture, and a Royal Star Tour Deluxe. Both came with cruise control as standard equipment and was one of the reasons I bought them. I've not done Jerry's course, but I have done Robert Simmons's course twice and like Jerry's, it's tons of fun and educational for those who need the skills. I did the course to see what it was about although I've already done that and more (28-year police officer trained to ride motors, and also a trainer) MotoJitsu is correct, if you do Robert's, Jerry''s, or any of the others course, you need to take that knowledge and practice it or you will not benefit from it. I tell people that I've worked with on slow speed skills, "use it or lose it" if you don't. I don't ride police motors anymore, but I always find time to practice some skills in order to keep sharp.
It’s a solid choice. I’ve rented two of these from Eagle Rider. Typical of HD, the standard seat is marginal. An aftermarket upgrade would be the only modification I would need.
I own a 2018 Heritage. I am not a fan of the stock bags because they tend to leak water when it rains. I went with Nasty hogs hard bag conversion to remedy this. Other than that I 100 percent love the bike.
Great paint scheme, the bike looks like a polished jewel a real financial statement and its nice that it has abs especially considering that the new owner will probably forgo gear.
Thanks. I’ve got a 2019 FLHCS. great bike in my opinion. I had done a Ride Like a Pro class on my ‘08 Goldwing and hated it. So much easier on the Heritage. Good all around bike. Only complaints: spoke wheels, great on my thighs in warm+ weather, a little turbulence coming from below the tank, and a fogging Speedo. Otherwise, very happy. BTW, those are leather covered hard bags that lock. And it definitely has ABS. I ditched the Rineharts that were on mine when I bought it and went back to stock. They sounded good but on longer rides, the pitch gave me a headache.
I don't understand the name branding of Harley, to me most are a road king, then they might have a few different things, but seem the same to me. The road king and the bikes with a Batwing are my favorite. I own a Yamaha Midnight Star xv1900 2009. Really like that to.
For the “big twins” with the tradition push-rod motors, there are only (2) frame/chassis platforms. Touring and Softail. All of the models are different styles of those platforms.
Thanks for a great and objective review and not pointing out that the bike doesn't perform like a 1000 sport bike. On a side note, sad to see the fellow you were riding with in runners and a T-shirt.
hahahaha, why does it even matter what someone else thinks of exhausts? lol, exactly, do whatever you want, it's your damn bike I'm generally pretty non-obnoxious in my normal life but I do love a louder exhaust so I feel like I've earned some obnoxious time haha.
If HD can’t even figure out how to lower the exhaust pipes so that both saddlebags are full size on the LRST then no thanks! It’s just stupid on a bike that expensive
I would strip it down and get rid of all the unnecessary stuff. like bags, wind screen, floor boards, passenger seat and debadge it. nice and clean no studded seat.
@@gmoney1592 That is a big plus, on my Yamaha they are bolted on. Not great. To inflate the back tire i have to lay down on the street to get to the valve with my big hands. Fantastic when the streets are wet from rain....

Gotta love a fellow who rides all sorts of bikes and appreciates them for what they are, no bias, just 2x wheeled fun.

This will be the next model Harley scrapps…you know since they are doing away with everything that got them to where they are.
"Ride like a pro" that guy is awesome. Really great information.
Have been riding one that I bought brand new since 2006 never felt I was missing out on anything all these years.

Frame, forks, engine, tank, etc. You have to be a nerd to see the differences
For the “big twins” with the tradition push-rod motors, there are only (2) frame/chassis platforms. Touring and Softail. All of the models are different styles of those platforms.
@@ozzy541 Well Christmas is ruined, thanks bro.
All of the newer softails (that’s a softail vs Jerry’s road king which is the touring frame) have a USB on the left side of the frame neck
Thanks for a great and objective review and not pointing out that the bike doesn't perform like a 1000 sport bike. On a side note, sad to see the fellow you were riding with in runners and a T-shirt.
The usb port is under the engine on the left side front
ha, someone's been having fun in that parking lot!
Would be so cool if one day u owned one of these and then pushed it in the twisties. Would be a true statement of the bike doesnt matter.

How much is this one retail for?
Low 20k. This and the Road King are probably the best tourers that HD makes.

Exactly. The only way to make this bike look anywhere near good is by removing 90% of what’s on it. To me, it looks completely ridiculous as is.
Well just buy a Street Bob then.
@ you should see my bike then, it’s a custom softail Heritage. So I already did that.
I like them but just dont want spoked wheels
Cleaning the back wheel with those bags is really difficult, with spoked wheel it's a nightmare. Looks good, but a lot of work.
just remove the spoked....

How much?
Nahhh.
Buy used/
I’ll keep my 2022 Versys 1000.
Will be running long after this overpriced machine.
