    This game brings back such great memories. It was one of the first N64 games my brothers and I got for Christmas. My parents were divorced, and so when our dad picked us up for the weekends, he had a super small house and there wasn’t a whole lot to do and so my brothers and I would just play the living crap out of Waverace and Goldeneye. Good times.

    This game was the beginning of me finding the secrets in video games. I remember finding out how to change the jetski to a dolphin and finally getting it and calling my friends over to see. It was the biggest achievement at the time since the only way for people to see it was to have people come over and see it since there was no real "online" yet that you could see this. Thanks for the nostalgia, keep up the great work.

    When N64 came out my sisters and I got one for Christmas along with Mario 64 and Wave Race 64. Both those games hold a special place to me because of it. Wave Race though just incapsulates everything about the feel of the mid-90s. I'm nostalgic for a lot of things but this game just hits harder than anything else for whatever reason. The instant I turn it on and hear that music and see the visuals I'm instantly taken back to being 8 years old, sitting in the living room with my family and just loving life.

    Fun facts:
    Wave Race 64 unlike many games on the 64 is the first in the series and a sequel was made on the GameCube called Wave Race: Blue Storm.
    Wave Race is set in the same universe as 1080 degrees Snowboarding and 1080 degrees Avalanche.
    The character names are: David Mariner, Ayumi Stewart, Ryota Hayami, and Miles Jeter
    There's a long standing fan theory that this is the past of F-Zero, with the name connections of Port Blue -> Big Blue, A. Stewart -> Dr. Stewart.

    • @Packiechu
      @Packiechu 3 года назад

      That's so cool!! I immediately thought of F-Zero when they said Port Blue. 😂 What a fun theory.

      If you're going to post 'fun facts', at least make sure they're accurate, FFS. Wave Race 64 is a sequel.

      Single backflip off ramp
      Dive off ramp

    I think this was and still is a unique game. There aren't a lot of water racing games that feel fun in my experience. But the water physics were so good it almost made this game a sandbox, where I'd enjoy just driving around jumping off waves, crashing into things, and trying to do random tricks and jumps. I think you could even do dolphin type jumps where you dive underwater and pop back up. Then this game was generally pretty realistic (compared to Mario Kart) with just the right hints of gaming flavor imo.

    So just so you know those wooden poles are supposed to be where a dock used to be. Often times a docks boards will rot away before the piles that hold them do and you end up with wooden poles sticking up in the water. They're lake hazards that actually exist. It's kind of a neat detail that will stick out to anyone that's spent some time around lakes. Man I remember when this game out and it just blew everyone's minds. Like water physics? What's that!?

    Hi THAB. I would love a quick snippet at the beginning of the videos to see which game came up randomly. Like a small reaction video or graphic of which game came up for you to play next! Just a suggestion. Thanks dude!

    Duuude you forgot to talk about the rideable dolphin in stunt mode. It makes stunt mode so much more fun. Love the videos and this game tho :)
