I was immediately surprised by how like, fun Tom is. I'm 2 minutes in and already love this.

I met him and got an issue signed by him. The dude has got talent and will talk to you as if you just were having a regular conversation with him even if you just met him.
I like the original plan that Alfred dying was Damian's worst nightmare. It gives Damian another humanizing moment.
I gotta say, Tom King in this episode really solidified how much I enjoyed his work.

Thank you for getting Tom King. I enjoyed his Batman run and it was nice to hear and see him talk about what he did and what he has planned.
Creator interviews are always a great thing, it's incredibly interesting, right out of the gate that Tom wrote Batman all over the place to work with all the excellent artists he did.
This is the best episode of Absolute Comics. I hope Tom King comes back.

I'm sorry, how do you guys nail down these interviews? This is the Heroes in Crisis guy, right?😅 Jokes and Riddles aside, it seems like everyone you interview are such nice people, and surprisingly able to laugh at themselves. It's absolutely fantastic.
I would totally buy a Bruce Wayne: Secret Agent miniseries by Tom King. He freaking nailed it with Grayson
How about the Batman and the 4 Robins traveling around doing spy/vigilante stuff. Like that show Leverage.
That Grayson spyral stuff was so surprisingly good. Amazing stuff. He made Grayson the world's ultimate male.
i would have loved Toms idea for Tim as Nightwing helping nightwing out rather than the "Ric" thing
We all would instead we had dick being ric for 2 years. While Tim went from drake back to robin.
Tim is Red Robin, making him Nightwing is bizarre.
@@iceomistar4302 while i would agree with you its more of a progression of the character following in his brother's footsteps and honestly would have probably been taken better than him going by his last name as a new identity or you know the army of rightwing wannabes that replaced dick while he was an amnesiac. Yes general progression is making him red robin but this iteration of bludhaven only knows nightwing as their protector. What would likely happen is you would have hundreds of people constantly say "wheres batman?" or "go back to gotham" in response to seeing a robin much less red robin in their city. Now yes that is more of a petty argument on my end i grant but the original red robin was Dick grayson in kingdom come and both Tim and Jason followed suit. its not uncommon for the other robins to follow Dick's career choices.
@@96smittyjr True it could work but I'd prefer if Tim cultivated his own identity of something else rather than him takeover a role that Dick had, even though Red Robin was an Mark Waid and Alex Ross creation intended to be Grayson I felt like Tim more than owned the role in the latter years of the Post-Crisis continuity, but I see where you are coming from, I think if yim were to have an New Identity it should be fresh.

Great to catch this while I will be the first to say I have problems with Kings Batman Run in general I love how he comes across in this interview back and forth for his choices and what he has accomplished I also enjoy the humor and energy he brings so thanks for this window into his thought process Benny and Sal keep knocking it out of the park for the Guest they have acquired.

Tom king’s nervous breakdown in 2016 must be the reason why certain parts of his Batman run was incredibly nihilistic.

Tom King seems like a really fun, cool guy. Makes me feel bad for all the shit he got for Batman. Though I’m not a huge fan of his Batman run, I am a huge fan of him. Mister Miracle, Omega Men phenomenal stories. Vision is genius but his appearance here really just makes me like him all that much more. I really hope he has a Captain America run one day.

I swear he almost acknowledged that it was supposed to be clayface there and alfred would be killed escaping and trying to save his family.

While I may not have been a fan of his Batman run aside a couple of arcs and one shots, (his run is a guilty pleasure admittedly), I dig most of his limited series works. But man I wish King well !

This interview does make me respect him more. It also makes me hate Didio more. Turns out, I was right, and Didio was the reason for all the bad Nightwing decisions, and I'm glad he's gone from DC.

Unlike a lot of people I really liked most of his Batman run until the very end.
I disagree with Tom King on the world being just Grey i say there is black and white with Grey but I get it Tom King was in the CIA so who knows. But Tom King is a funny guy.

Tom King is to Batman what Rian Johnson is to Star Wars. Both guys with talent and really good works behind them but very divisive and controversial among fans of the let's just say most famous works they've worked on (Batman and Star Wars)
Except Tom King is hated less because he didn't Destory the Mythos of Batman meanwhile Rian Johnson Subverted expectations for the sake of it and he Singel handedly destroyed the Hype for Star Wars and Split the fanbase forever
