This is amazing
Hey Comic Pop!
Would it be possible for you guys to talk about The Justice League RWBY Crossover Comic (Plus give RWBY a watch before talking about the comic)?
Batman: "And I thought Hal's story about losing his ring to a talking duck was looney..."
Is that a Duck Dodgers reference?! 😂
That's all folks.
Or his insentence that that frog sings and dances.
(They gave hal the hello my baby gag to him in the jl looney tunes crossover)
Double looney, because that means Hal was in the 24th and a half century.
I'm still disappointed that they didn't do daffy duck becoming a Orange lantern.
I love how hard this comic goes for NO good reason. It's better than it has any business being considering the premise, and I love it.
What I love is when sal interviews creators that make constant appearances, they always have a fun dynamic. Scott Snyder feels like the cool teacher that you still talk to. Tom king is like an old college roommate. Joshua Williamson feels like a buddy from high school. That’s at least how I see their dynamics with Sal when they come on. Have a great day!
Having met all three, that's pretty spot on
Chip Zdarsky is the quirky friend who turns up every five years
Oh my god Tom at the end was the Cherry on top of a fantastic episode. Thanks Sal!
My favorite detail in this comic is that the onomatopoeia for Elmer punching Batman was “pwunch”.
Joker: Batman season
Batman: Joker Season
Joker: Batman season
Batman: Batman season
Joker: Joker season, FIRE!!!
Elmer Fudds shots Joker, Joker reapplies his smile and looks at Batman
Joker: you’re despicable lol
That Batman line that Sal said he really liked is so dope. This book is so much better than it has any right to be.
I love this comic and Tom King knocked it out of the park with it.
@@dddaaa6965 what does they have to do with anything
@@dddaaa6965 ok you dont have to like it. I like it though and thought it was good. That's it
@@dddaaa6965 he doesnt have to explain to some asshole online why he likes a comic
@@dddaaa6965 The ending is easy to explain, all it takes is an ounce of critical analysis. It’s a Looney Tunes cartoon. It’s a farce. It’s the "Th-Th-The, Th-Th-The, Th-Th... That's all, folks!" before the credits roll. Expecting it to make sense as like complaining that Daffy Duck keeps surviving being shot in the face, and just as joyless. The ending happens because, no matter how grim and gritty you try to make it, it’s still just a story about Elmer Fudd.
@@dddaaa6965 I can explain that as soon as you explain why Elmer Fudd believes every sign he sees. No sane person would believe the forest game warden would Institute a season for hunting fiddler crabs.
Seeing Ethan go from hollowed out to beyond curious at the uttering of the names "elmer fudd" and "tom king" respectively
I love the recent trend of hour to hour and a half long back issues, but this one is short and sweet and feels like a fever dream. That was a very fun half hour, especially with Ben and Ethan's absolutely incredulous reactions throughout.
26:35 - 26:57
"A suprise to be sure, but a welcome one"
- Chancellor Palpatine
TOM KING IS LITERALLY ON BACK ISSUES, WHAT IS THIS ALTERNATE REALITY 😱
Gotta be honest, I'd love a book where Bugs just torments the shit out of Joker.
It'd be like Creeper vs Joker in the Animated Series all over again.
Best Back Issues ending ever, from the "That's all folks" to Tom King. Chef's kiss
There's no freaking way that that Batman vs Elmer Fudd fight was as cool as Sal made it sound
Youre right.... its even cooler.
This is probably the shortest Back Issues I’ve seen
Some of the older ones are around a half hour too. :-)
The Tom King cameo at the end🤣
The Hanna Barbera line was great for as long as we had it.
That ending (chef's kiss)
This crossover sounds so insane I love it. It feels like someone thought, Marvin and J’onn are both martians, they should crossover! And then worked backwards from that to try to match up other characters
That was a crossover.
From the moment Sal broke out the Elmer Fudd dialogue, I was a smiling dweeb enjoying the ride till the end. What a fun episode.
Every once in awhile the stars align and a gift is sent down from the heavens to confuse and delight us. This book is one of those gifts
I opened RUclips to watch a documentary or something to help me learn while I work, instead I saw a thumbnail with two characters who shouldn't be together and had to click it
I loved this, I honestly don't understand why they don't. It's very fun and silly while being very serious and earnest
There is not a more perfect book they could have covered at comic con. Perfectly back issues
Of course, Bugs being totally inflappable when someone points a loaded gun at him is classic Bugs.
Sal's Elmer fund's impression was on point!
I have never known how much I needed something until I received it...
That ending was so insanely perfect!!! LOL
"It's real it's not green." Already my favorite thing.😄
Hilarious episode as ever, and that King cameo at the end was just chef's kiss!
We NEED more back issues like this. I do wish it was longer but I love how insane it was and the impressions got me the most😂😂😂
Hot Take: Bugs Bunny could kill the Joker.
Yes.
That stinger scene was PERFECT
Ngl that Tom King stinger at the end made this episode just that much better
I kinda liked the one with Wonder Woman meeting up with the Tasmanian Devil.
Hell yes!! Because of the interviews and camaraderie between Sal and Tom King, King has gone from just an amazing writer to one of my favorite writer/artist in any medium. IT IS JUST FUCKING AWESOME! ...Funny little side note from what I've gathered from those interviews with King he is probably one of the biggest nerds I know of lol I fucking love it
I know right...🤣🤣🤣 Also the skit came out of nowhere 🤣🤣🤣
Ethans reactions throughout the ep is gold 😂 great ep boiiiiisss
Lots of twists and turns in this one
lmao the ending of this video is 👌
This book had no right being this good. I even rank the Batman/ Elmer Fudd fight as one of Batman’s best comic fights lol.
I was expecting bugs and Lola to be joker and Harley and that bugs had dressed like and framed Bruce ,killed silver to start a wacky adventure
I wanna see more of this.
The idea of the Looney Tunes as deranged Gotham inhabitants is fascinating to me.
Like, how much of their antiques and gags could be translated into thriller-like plots? I'm genuinely curious.
Dammn never expected you to do this crossover 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ok but that Max Landis joke from Ben was top tier and nobody is talking about it.
I love the relationship sal has with Tom king 😂
Was great seeing you guys at NYCC definitely was a highlight of the con 😀
This comic was a million times better than I expected when I picked it up. Great coverage!
okay this might be both my favorite Tom King Batman book and one of my favorite episodes of Back Issues
Elmewr Fudd hewer.
I wove Comic Pop and Back issues. I might hunt wabbits but my eyes awe awways wooking fow Sal, Wethan, Twiffany and Bwen.
This honestly was such a treat thank you guys!
The crossover I never knew I wanted.
This is totally BODACIOUS guyz. I enjoy everything y'all upload, no matter where y'all at.
It's Bat season....and a fun book too!
Easily the best ending of any Back Issues episode
Didn’t even wait to watched the episode, I heard “Batman and Looney Tunes crossover” and I was sold, already bought it
I feel like we just keep getting closer and closer to having King, Snyder or Williamson on the couch for one of these… also i want this to happen so badly!
BRO I LOVE THE TOM KING CAMEO AT THE END, it was an awesome surprise
Easily one of the shortest episodes in a long time, but damned if you didn't make it interesting and, above all, hilarious. The bit at the end had me doubled over
Amazing video. Amazing ending. Already one of my favorites.
Is that the fist time we've gotten a split screen? cool
nope, Sal has used that device several times. For certain in many episodes I have been in.
I love that effect. The crews reactions is always great
@@TheRealZubes I couldn't recall, but I spoke too soon anyway.
Get a load of that outro :)
The only thing more amazing than this existing is that it's one of the best things Tom King has written.
That ending is amazing
The Catwoman/Black Canary and Slyvster/Tweety issue was the best one. I had no idea Starfire came from a race of cat people until reading that. 😆
Great to see the team at the big con!
I hit the play button so fast for this one. Great short episode. You guys should do more one issue specials/ annuals for shorter back issues. I’d like to see you guys do the Mr Freeze annual by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. Did don’t expect Tom King to make an appearance, he seems like a cool dude.
Bugs was originally a nickname for someone who was kind of crazy, like Bugsy Siegel so it makes sense that Bugs Bunny would be a hitman.
That ending was so fucking worth it
Fantastic episode
Tom’s writing it’s truly very funny, as much I love all the aspects of his writing, but his Humour is one of his unsung elements
I remember seeing the ads for the DC/Loony Tunes crossover and nothing else
i feel like Tom King wrote this for Sal to one day find. it was only a matter of time lol
I’m only 6 minutes in and WOW - I had no idea that’s what these mashups were like!
I didn't see this Batman crossover coming. Love it.
The funniest part about this comic is how serious it takes itself
You guys have really been experimenting and trying new stuff and it’s absolutely dope! Loved this stuff since 8th grade keep it up!
Excellent shorter episode that still packed a punch(-up at Porky's)! And that ending was *chef's kiss*
Okey, this one goes straight with the confort episodes I watch over and over, this was extra fun
Silver St. Cloud returns to set up a femme fatale mystery plot? This sounds like something Jezebel Jett could've done... if she were still alive.
This is absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.
I can't decide between Weeks and Jimenez as my favorite working artists
Theyre both absolutely amazing but i think i would give the edge to Jimenez. Althought if you ask me again a few days from now i might have a different answer. You cant miss with either choice.
Sam teaming with Jonah Hex I’d think would’ve been more fitting. I think the Looney Tunes characters Rocky and Mugsy would be more fitting for Batman. Some other pairings that could be interesting: Porky vs Prof. Pig, Bugs Bunny meets (then dates) White Rabbit A.K.A. Jaina Hudson, Bloodsport or Deadshot vs Elmor Fudd, Peppe La Pew vs Catwoman, Roadrunner & Speedy Gonzales vs The Flash & Kid Flash, Yoyo Dodo or old school 40’s Daffy Duck vs The Joker, Cecil Turtle vs The Turtle Man, and Tweety Bird vs Robin
That ending!!! Hahahaha
Not gonna lie, this book made me want to see Tom King tell a full “Chinatown”/“Sin City” hardboiled noir story featuring nothing but Looney Tunes characters. Call it “Thith Dethpicable Thity” or something…
DC and Hanna Barbera crossover is really good too, guys! Tom King is a legend!🤣🤣🤣👊🏾
i grew up watching reruns of looney toons so reading this issue is unintentionally fucking hilarious
I like the compact or two parter shows y’all have been doing lately sometimes an hour is a lot and I really enjoy these. So to have a break point or short but really good story is a really good breath of fresh air for this channel.
THIS THE ONE RIGHT HERE BOIS 😭😭😭
I kinda love the short format, its breezy and nice to listen to, would definitly be down for more like one shots in this style.
Ahahaha the ending was great! Tom is awesome
What an amazing back issues! Loved the ending!😂
You guys got to do the other DC crossovers like Green Lantern/Space Ghost and the Joker/Daffy Duck
The lex luthor porkie pig one is amazing
That stinger is gold 😂😂😂
Amazing review and I am glad I got to read it when it first came out 🔥🔥🔥
I was not expecting this at all! What a pleasant surprise
I loved this crossover when it came out.
Great episode! Great ending!
That was great. So glad kings got a sense of humour. U guys n gals are killing it at the mo. I dig it. Never stop never stopping. 👍 P.s it'll never happen but I would love 2 see heavy metal dredd on back issues. Shit is off the chain! ✌️
This is amazing!
In the words of Kite-Man, Hell yeah!
This was a masterpiece.
I just got called a fucking nerd and I couldn’t be happier
