Sal being able to so casually drop “Highschool of the Dead” by name will never not be funny to me. While I agree that it’s weird to change a character’s main power set for no reason (imagine living in a world where Spider-Man got organic webbing. Heh), if that bracelet thing is real, I kind of like them bringing it back to the whole “Anyone could have been Miss Marvel” narrative. Not a huge fan of powers being genetic (unless it’s mutants, and even then).
I haven't seen a single post on Reddit calling Batman The Imposter garbage, mostly the negativity is Bat fatigue however the books FUCKING rocks. It's seedy, grimy, down to bones detective story with master class art work by Sorrentino

Portraying rubber in live action was going to be tricky and plus it’s a nice way for Marvel to have their cake and eat it too with keeping the aesthetic of her powers while also being creative. It reminds me a lot of Apache Chief in Young Justice in how instead of growing big he creates an avatar of energy that gets big.

Then Ghost Rider’s flames go out and he collapses in shocked confusion, and Punisher tells him he feels nothing for the people he’s killed.
Also, I do give a crap what happens to Sersi. I read everything Eternals up to the Neil Gaiman book. Just so I’d understand who these characters were, and they aren’t even a fraction of that. I did this to poke fun at my MCU friends after the movie. My scheme has gone horribly wrong, the goal was not for me to end up actually liking the Eternals. 😆
Maybe they'll have Kamala manifest her powers from being exposed to Carol Danver's energy or something rather than mutant or inhuman. And that's why it's an energy construct instead of stretching. 🤷♂️
This maybe unpopular but I'm actually looking forward to the Ms. Marvel series with the news of her powers and the changes the show is reportedly making. Note I never hated Kamala Khan. While I do not talk about my race, it is neat to have Pakistani(I'm hindu but I have plenty of Pakistani friends) superhero in the fray. Superficial, but I can't deny that. But that said, her recent comics I find have been meh. While I enjoyed G Willow Wilson's run, every run after that I've found disappointing. My hope is that the D+ series will be to Ms. Marvel as Into the Spider-Verse was to Miles. Taking a character who had potential and was misled and just reworking them so that way their best elements shone and not just a cheap mantle pass. Rather, Kamala, like Miles in Spider-verse, is her own character. Note my favorite mantle pass for any character is Terry McGuiness from Batman Beyond. That is how you do it well.
I dunno, I like her polymorph powers with shape-shifting, stretching, size-changing, borrowing mass from different timelines, etc. Like even though I disliked the recent run by Saladin, I like how he & Minkyu Jung displayed the powers in the fight scenes.
@@94evangelion I'll take your word on how the powers are depicted as I haven't read the latest run. I am a sucker for rubber manipulation when done well. Luffy from One Piece is my go to example of having that right blend of creativity and cool(especially Gear second. pumping blood so fast that you dope yourself. ). I suspect this change came about for two reasons. One is that depicting rubber in live action is tricky. While VFX have nailed fire and even water/ energy, rubber can look really stupid if the effect itself isn't good. Case in point, the Tim Story F4 movies, the stretching effect for Reed at times looked terrible. A challenge no doubt Marvel studios will encounter for the F4 reboot. And given these D+ series are still made for TV, I can see the showrunner/ Feige not wanting to deal with that headache. The next reason I suspect is that they wanted to differentiate Kamala from Reed. Giving her a Green Latern/ Stand like power from JoJo is actually a smart way to approach Kamala's signature look with her powers without it looking stupid. Especially with how they are reworking her origin supposedly. Overall, I sympathize with fans of her having her core powers changed, but I'm fine with it as it still kept the basic look/ capability of her powers.

@@94evangelion indeed and it drives me crazy that they eliminating such a important element to Kamala Kahn's character just to make her similar to Captain marvel Carol danvers and Monica rambeau which if you look at it as a surface level doesn't sound like a bad idea at first, however looking deep more into eliminating her polymorph powers like you said is going to cause a lot of problems and probably get rid of a major key factor to her story and that's well her insecurity and identity issues with her story and that's just sad because I want her to succeed not fail and its going to suck if this show doesn't do that story justice at least in my opinion.

Like it's important for teens to know about issues like internalized racism that Kamala struggles with due to not living up to white, blonde beauty standard.

His powers were conjuring an astral body that allowed him to grow and granted him super strength and durability. I can see that happening with Kamala which would allow Marvel to have their cake and eat it with keeping the basic premise of her powers while also not having to do the rubber effect and have it look awful.

Her being a mutant would be lazy but I wouldn't hate it. If what the rumors of the show being reported are true, her being more mystically in tune is actually a neat angle to explore if done well.
If she was created during any other period, she would have been a mutant. The entire concept of mutants was an easy way to give people powers so it's not lazy or all mutants are lazy.

I'm not a fan of them changing Ms Marvel's powers. I will say that the power it sounds like they plan on giving her sounds cool, but give it to a new character. Eternals I am really looking forward to watching but I will still be waiting for it to be available digitally. I live in a very rural area where the vaccination rates are not nearly high enough and only about 3% of people are still wearing masks...

I am hoping ms marvel series is good but personally I am not really of changing her powers to be a green lantern ripoff but that’s just my opinion.
