My bolt that holds the pulse generator is loose and the pulse generator can spin freely at the moment. I have a Atc 110. Would the best way be to line up the fire and TDC and then line up my pulse generator with the pick up?

I have a 1984 200s atc I bought it for a couple hundred bucks . it has been running fine up until I cleaned the engine and sprayed Honda cleaner on the head to clean it up and now it won't crank. any ideas why? it has spark. it doesn't have a inline fuel filter and I put a k&n air filter on it when I bought it also but it ran fine until I washed it good
u meant to use a timing light and set the idle to 1400 rpm and align the f mark. At 1700 the advance begins. At 3500 rpm u should hit the two lines for full advance
picked up 200s 1985 atc honda. 2 weeks ago. started it few times. the decompressor lever is missing so its a pita. Now cant get it to start. have a spark but doesnt look as good as i think should be. also seems like spark plug is showing wet/gas. the bike came from previous owner with a Chinese carb. i pulled it apart 2 times seems ok. i think he had it running too rich. i tried checking CDI with meter but wasnt sure what setting to use so.... Im guessing its CDI, coil or stator but not sure how to check. Can you give advice?
@@fallen6191q2w TY, i put in new plug, started on 3rd pull. When idel set perfect it wants to stall, if i turn it up a notch its fine until i give throttle then it goes high and stsys. Tried adjusting mix screw but didnt seem do much. I noticed the cheap carb choke is bouncing like crazy and wondering if this is causing go crazy. When i ride bike its not smooth. Kinda boggy and putting along. Im guna try to see if i can tighten choke center screw and tighten it up tomm? I took a video of it bouncing but doesn't look can post in comments.i turned mix screw out about 1 turn but not really sure what Chinese carb should be. Any help is appreciated. Ty
YES! My bike didnt run for two years figured out that little pulse generator that peice that physically spins was put back together 180 out of time, its sunple just flip it back around and itll work
I'm sorry..not sure on exact title.although the spark rotor.bolted off cam..I had it all apart and it will notch in 2 ways the same..almost like 180*...if ya will....may be sugess co.pression stroke opposed too exaust..not sure friend..
@@fallen6191q2w yes sir I do believe so..I can roll around put crank on f..and on top it is at 12:00...although bring it around too f..again then its 6:00....makes sense. Just concerned if that thing is out .I don't want too start it..if there is a chance it fires at exhaust strokes. Maybe I am over thinking...just seems like its possible too be half way out..
and a tight intake valve lash can cause funky idle or no idle and hard or no start depens on how tight it is that is one reason to clean your air filter
@@fallen6191q2w Also parts expand when you run the engine(heat) so keep that in mind, the paper might work and it doesn't touch cold but may scrape when at temp
its eather three things cdi stater or cdi electro box. my coil was just replaced. it fell apart in my hand. lol or it could be my kill switch. thanks for the vid. i have a 1994 haunda xr200r 4stroke.
Sorry that this took so long. Go get yourself an impact driver. Looks like a screwdriver but you hit it with a hammer and it works good. I think harbour freight sells them.

Stators can be tricky. Always ohm and continuity test em out. Easy to do. Hot or cold. Multimeter usually sniffs it out. Great video bud 👍🏻

Replace the spark plug, adjust the valves and timing chain

Supposed to have 2 springs on it. You set the valve timing to T and ignition timing to F

Have the same bike sometimes it starts on one pull sometimes pull my arm out of socket lol fixing to change CDI and coil

my 1984 atc200s will not idle . what could be the problem ? itried to idle up the carb but it does not idle up could it be the carb?
Id clean the carb first, and reset it to factory spec. Also check the intake boot for cracks and replace the sparkplug.

You should be using valve feeler gauges to gap the pickup.
