- Algonquin Park Brook Trout Fishing - Giant Fish Caught
In this most recent episode of The Average Joes, Brendan and Lyle head out for PART 2 of their 3 day backcountry adventure. After a bit of a sleep in, the guys head across a long portage to the next lake over in search of some size rather than numbers. After catching a couple little ones, Brendan hooks into a BEAUTY of a trout. It was 19 inches, but thick, coloured up, and gorgeous. Once the bite slowed down on that lake, the guys headed back to base camp lake to try to get into some more numbers. Once the fish boils started to happen again, they knew it was time to capitalize. Rigged up with their favourite Williams Spoons, along with some worms, they managed to tie into several dozen more fish throughout the afternoon.

Hey Guys the yellow mark is a dye tag... the MNR has handled that fish stocked or thru monitoring ... you can contact the park and they will tell you what they are doing on that lake... l enjoy your videos
Where did you hear this from? I’ve never heard of the dye tag idea.
We appreciate the support Gord!

@@TheAverageJoesFishingShow Can confirm it's not a dye tag 😂
@@darrensmith9201 I was gonna say lol I’ve seen these markings in spots I didn’t think had seen MNR at before. Thanks for confirmation!
Ran into the Joe’s at the boat launch. Great guys! Real class act 🍻
Nice to meet you there Jeff! I hope the fish were biting for you guys and you enjoyed your trip! 😁
Nice fishing Joe's, filming is a lot easier when the bite is on. Video turned out great, slow mo, action shots and flowed nicely.
You’ve sure got that right! Makes filming easy when you’re not busy hoping for one or two bites! Thanks for watching Jay!
of course we like these vids with great speck fishing. Just wish we were there .
Wish we could take you along for the trip!
Keep up the good work, you guys have a gift!
Just a tip from an older guy, when the bite gets tough go with a Williams 50 Wabler, nu-wrinkle half gold half silver, remove the treble and replace with a 12-16" trailer with a minnow or worm.....Hang on!
Thanks Glynn! I actually had the W40 in that pattern and trolled a worm behind it like you mentioned earlier in the season. I caught one on it and couldn’t get anything else on any other lures. When they’re finicky worms are always a good call!
Nothing average about those trout 😳
Wish we got a couple more toads but they were all pretty nice fish! 😁
We have watched part one and two...
Enjoyed the variety of video you showed
But the best part was how both guys are relaxed and enjoying them selves
Gramps and Gramma👍
Another wonderful trip into the park. Always good to keep the imagination flowing! Great job guys, way to keep on showing off the park and all the trout it has to offer 😍
Thanks Noah, let’s get after them again soon!
Well done!
Great fishing. I use the w40 gold for Brookes, work good for me.
Them Wablers have been deadly for us this season!
You lads gotta progress onto having a dry fly rod with ya. Love the footage dudes
Lyle dabbles with the fly rod from time to time, I’m pretty much strictly spinning and don’t have an interest for the fly rod. Either spinning gear or leadcore for this polock 😂
Great video! I am going to have to get into the park and explore.
Man you boys know the park . Id pay to have you guide me
Haha thanks buddy! We’re still learning lots every trip!

Thanks buddy! The fish cooperated so that helps 😅
Very good. Some great filming and b roll. Loved watching the bobber dissappear and Lyle wasnt watching. Lol.
Typical Lyle just flapping his cheeks and not paying attention haha
I bet 2 sips of the camp perked coffee had running for the woods.....lol
Haha that does it for Lyle every morning in the bush 😂
That was awesome! Some beautiful fish! Very entertaining!
Thanks Josh, was a pretty cool day for fishing!
Another great video. You guys are definitely getting better and better. Lovely fish you landed as well.
