A $2600 price increase in 2 years is absolute insanity. If your car or homeowner's insurance went up that much, you'd be outraged. Ridiculous.

I purchased a classic flap a few weeks before the price increase. It will be my one and only. Black caviar with silver hardware. No regrets! I don’t think it will be easy to make money on reselling it- but I don’t care because I plan to keep in forever and I had such a fun evening with my hubby buying it at our local NM boutique. I’m glad to hear your “unpopular” opinion! I agree! I am trying not to let all the other Chanel hating videos bring me down. I have 2 WOCs as well, I don’t feel the need to buy any more Chanel in the future.
I totally agree. You have the same one I do. I love it. My daughter will get it later on. I’m glad she’s not telling people not to get one because no other bag will EVER scratch the itch.
I think it would be easier for you to sell since you have an established RUclips channel. But for the regular person, it would be harder to sell unless you price it well below retail.
I use Fashionphile almost of the time but their quotes can be hit or miss. If it’s a miss I wait or try to sell else where.
Kate spade is my favorite brand. I use them everyday and I’m so hard on them. I frequently switch them out every season but I rotate the same few pieces and everyone asks if they are “new” and I’m like. I’ve had this since I was 16 and regularly use this. Hahaha. Glad you are back Stella!❤

I walked away from Chanel in 2020. I couldn't deal with the price increases anymore. Thankful for the collection that I already have and if I want to sell it, that's good for me!
Those Chanel bags are overrated now. I wish I would pay over $10,000 for a bag. I can put that money into my property. Chanel is crazy. 🤔🤬

Oh Stella I usually appreciate your enthusiasm for luxury. But in this one I disagree. Not worth it as they have not improved the bags, nor are they even constructed by hand. The pre-loved markets have increased their chanel prices as well. If you are buying a bag as an investment there may be wiser ways to earn a profit. And there’s very little exclusivity these days wearing a Chanel bag. Go out in any city and you’ll see them everywhere.

I have a Kate spade that’s a very similar style to the channel black classic medium and I wear it with any outfit to any event, I love how classic it is.
The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.

Honestly, I feel the same way! I bought my classic flaps when already many people were saying to not buy them because they were too expensive. Well they now already worth almost 3K more. I always wanted to have cf, a small and a medium and not having them, you bet I would totally buy them now. They are investment in my collection, I don’t sell my bags, but they are just not gonna get cheaper. If someone wants it better get it now if you can afford it. I love mine and I have not experienced bad quality issues on any of my Chanel bags so it’s an other thing I cannot relate to.
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
I agree with your comments!! I bought the Classic Flap Jumbo in January 2024, and I am enjoying it. Since I purchased it, I've been carrying it everywhere, Pilates, Target, Hair Salon, it speaks for itself. 😊

Seriously, the quality plummeted a couple of years back. Bulgari makes beautiful and high quality, as do Tods, Ferragamo and Hermes.

I hope Hermes looses the lawsuit. It is ridiculous that you have to buy a bunch of overpriced junk in order to get an opportunity to purchase a handbag.
I have 2 Chanel bags and I’m so glad I got the ones that work for me. I know that it’s easy for someone like me say that I no longer will pay the price for them because I already have them. However for someone that has always wanted one, I would agree to splurge on one just to get the thrill of owning a classic bag..

It’s easy to say it’s not worth it when one has it already. I had a medium, 2.55 224 and WOC and still wanted a jumbo. I have wanted it since it was 6800. Decided it was too expensive & moved on. Still wanted it years later and ended up paying $9500 for it. I enjoy the bags. They’re too expensive and I won’t be buying anymore but it’s because I’ve already got some Chanel. Maybe I’d at least get a preloved one? Idk

Great video! I agree with many of your points in this video. There are too many classic flaps on the preloved market. Chanel is trying to bring back the exclusivity to the brand.
I ❤ Chanel! I will always ❤ the fashion house. Now, there are concerns about quality control with Chanel (and LV), but I think the brand name makes a statement and automatically elevates any look.

I bought my last bag in boutique in 22c pink. I haven’t purchased in boutique since. I won’t buy another bag in boutique, there’s so many bags in excellent condition from resellers. The new ombré med CF in Canada is $19.5k with tax in Canada. That’s what I paid for my daughter’s car!!!

I'm not a female. But do watch the news and hear how some prices are going up. Buying that brand of purse before covid was probably at a fair price. But know that covid has settled down things are still high in prices. My famous words blame covid for the price increases.

It feels ridiculous to me. I can understand a $10K bag if it’s handmade, exotic leather with some real gold and gemstones. Chanel bags are none of that. It’s real just the brand you are paying for. The owners must be getting rich 😂

Its worth it to cherish, but not worth it to wear. The monetary value of it is just too much to wear out unless you really don't care money.
I think this is exactly what Chanel expected to accomplish when they began this ridiculously fast tracked price increase. They want to be in line with Hermes with creating a type of exclusivity that ppl will always desire to be a part of. It’s not just about the price but more about making you believe that you must have these things no matter the price. Because once the price is a non factor, they’ve got you for life.
I do not agree that these bags are worth the price or the hype anymore. I think that we the ppl need to wake up and realize that this world has us trapped in a mental matrix. We are being controlled in ways that are unsustainable and unhealthy for our longevity as a country and a ppl. If we do not stop this insanity of overconsumption and overspending we will all find ourselves holding our overpriced and useless Chanel handbags in a world that has fallen…What value would they have then?

Why is owning a Chanel bag mean over consumption. Someone may own one Chanel bag that they use everyday.
@annporter7359 I’m not just referring to Chanel handbags. I just referenced them given the examples used in this vlog. It could be any luxury bag. Our over consumption as a nation, in my opinion, has gotten way out of control. That includes the cheapest of things, such as “Temu” hauls of random unnecessary useless items that really no one needs. But really my point is more so that we are being conditioned to think that we need these things whether they are expensive or cheap. And yes, I am very aware that we don’t need luxury bags, they are just things that we love and make us happy. But I do think that there are powers that be, behind the scenes that are making us want these things even more than we should.(That’s really the point that I’m trying to make here.) You have to know that much of this is just downright corporate greed. These bags do not need to cost this much and we truly don’t need that many of them( or some may say any of them) to be happy. I’m speaking more to the mind control of it all. It’s not about the bags because trust me, I love my luxury bags and am just as guilty as the next luxury purse enthusiast for the over consumption of them…Hope that explains things a little better. 100% Chanel is still worth it! At least all of the classic bags. I have some special colors in the flap🥰 The quality has NOT declined when it comes to the classics. My bags are still in immaculate condition. This is a lie people are telling themselves to feel better about not being able to afford one. Sorry not sorry.
